I like the other ideas but this is gonna make a lot of people stop basehitting. With all the new specials, bases became a lot better already. But with this upgrade it might be pretty impossible for higher lvls. But for all lvls, it's just gonna be a pain in the ****, and not in a good way. For me, this'll mess the game up bigtime

I did read it carefully! read my other posts! fleets in a base will be ez to defeat, just like all other auto pilot fleets. It might take a week or 2 to figure them out, but in the end, they will just be target practice. I agree that if someone is on line, it might make it more interesting, but really not much different than now and them sending out fleets to defend. Besides, if you are getting hit from a stronger player, you probably don't have a fleet to defeat them anyway, and your just losing a fleet on top of your base. That's why most SMART people don't leave guards out now, cuz they just target practice. If you look at the drac bases, the fleets were the easiest to take out.

Think about the many possible scenarios. Then remember that the next time you attack a base, the guarding fleet may be set up totally different. Here are a few scenarios I can envision:
1) Fleet of Levis or wolfs with rippers/thuds set right outside an entrance. Easy to kill right? Not if they have covering fire from a VM, sent, or 2. I could see setting a few of those at the entrance to encourage bubbling and making my guarding fleet much harder to kill.
2) Fleet of FF with one or 2 assault mortars each positioned inside the channel. These would easily take the place of my VMs, allowing for even more fleet damage, and freeing up 4 turrets. I could even give them cover fire from a flack and bombard.
3) Stalkers might find a use in my base as defenders. Imagine forcing an attacker to stop and take them out after killing my turrets if i position them next to my warehouses. Put some shocks on them as well, and watch the carnage.
As for your fear that it will widen the gap between lower level player and higher levels, I disagree. The scenarios I mentioned above would help lower level players a lot to defend. And how many 28s are really attacking level 30 bases anyway? Oh yeah, they only really do it to troll upgrades and docks. Now they can try trolling fleets instead. I know those with dreads would hate to log on just to discover that I had gone into their base to kill their fleet with subs.
I think that the fleet should deploy from the dock when the fight starts. If you want your ships to engage right away it means you have to put your dock closer to the action. If your dock is inside the base then your fleet should have to go through the channel to get to the attackers.
now atleast the trolls who hit my research and gens then high tail it and run will have to face my guarding wolves inside the base oh man I so love this change thank you..
does this mean that like when attacking a drac outpost we will have 10 minutes to attack rather than 5?

i say let us do what we want put what fleets we want to guard and let us have to figure out how to crack a base now and if someone cant use there brain to figure something out they should not be playing a strategy game so don't nerf or put limits on anything.

I feel kixeye has now began to reach for updates or upgrades just for the sake of having something new. Sometimes people just have to play and master the current gaming scheme before given much more options. Putting fresh ideas in the game is a good idea but they should select them carefully. More is not always better. I guess you better warm up your thumbs and keep them close to the retreat button. Also, bring a ship killer to go in first.

excellent idea ,,u changing the dock time n launchpad time so i can hit n build more rockets ,u gettin rid of the 2 bubbling thing unless they BUY THEM FOR A WEEK to many bubble **** for my likin ,,18hr base repair should be plenty ,,u need to sort it out ,ur makin the game rubbish after i spent lots of cash im becomin really annoyed with u .
Finally a way to watch some of these folks and the way that they tend to play. Great way for defending your own base especially if you get on honking fleet defending your base. Great idea put into play here.
That would be a downside to it, but who to say you couldn't have a lvl 38 Battle fleet as a guard. Additional who to say you couldn't have a defender swoop in and defend the base. Kixeye is going to do something with alliance member, why not make it with base attacks as well. Allow for 4 fleets 2 attacking fleet vs. 1 defending fleet plus the guard fleet?????
hmmm...I think attacking times should be increased and maybe also nerf the defending fleet as I don't want an SFB 3 fleet sniping my mortar FFs while it is traveling through the channel. If both are at full power base defending will become OP and impossible to destroy them

My base is tough, but not uncrackable. If I put a fleet of dreadnoughts in it however, it would be impossible. Mercenary fleets or the 20% thing are good ideas. Possibly a compromise allowing players to designate what goes on their mercenary fleet from limited options would work well.
I like the idea of this and trying to figure out what to use as base defence fleet on top of that nice.
