When Upgrading turrets and Mortars make sure you hide the item being upgraded behind your command center. There's no point advertising the fact to enemies that one of your turrets or mortars is disabled.
I know Rubi will spot it, but many players disable her, if you are lucky they may not see a vulnerable target if you have hidden it well.

I don't think i quite understand... How does your opponent think you have a level 10 turret if its not shooting? (disabled for upgrade)
Also my enemies use this tactic but for NON upgrading turrets. They always stick the turret behind the CC at the top. But although i know this, my tanks can't aim for it since its hidden. I tried razors but they kept missing and hitting other things. Do you know how to aim for those?
Thanks!
Because if an opponent checks your base and sees your Gun Turret upgrading he'll remember it.
If you upgrade all of your Gun Turrets in the same location, what he'll think is you're upgrading ONE Gun Turret 5 or 6 times (He'll keep checking and see a Gun Turret in the exact location STILL upgrading), so he'll think it's high level.

there are 2 ways but you have to be very skill and aware of your troops capabilities
1/ estimate your troops range, drive in just that range and let them shoot. works better if you outrange the gun turret. for mortar just move your copter in close enough, but be careful of gun turrets.
2/ if it is not very well hidden, try to click on the part that is expose. i personally can hit heavy gunners or rifleman standing behind a storage with only their heads expose.
hope this help
