Defending with units
Hey guys just thought I would post this as one big mistake I have noticed a lot of players do when they set their units to defend as in tanks or any unit for that matter, they bunch their tanks or troops razor backs or whatever they are using to defend together in one heap, big mistake.
when these attack and defend in one group at attacking forces it makes it easy for the attacker to deal with them, just yesterday I attacked a base 10 razorbacks attacked my units as they advanced in, and in 2 seconds they were no longer a threat as when I hit one I hit them all.
So spread them out this not only gives your attacker multiple targets that he will have to deal with it will also give vital seconds for your defences to defend rather than them being taken out by your attacker, the attacker will take damage with this method and he will get bogged down trying to defend himself against your own units, and while trying to take out out your defending units they will bring them selves into range of your Mortars and Turrets.
In my base I have 5 Mega tanks safe behind my CC (set to stand ground) so the attacker would have great difficulty in taking them out with out loosing his own units, I then have 6 challengers spread out over my base hidden from view, however these are set to defend and will attack any units that attack my base, I then have my Mega Tanks ready for use and I am quite happy to loose my challengers when they are defending my base, but this can be used for any units you may have depending on your level, so if you only have Rhinos, then set some to defend some to stay put.
But the ones set to defend, spread out.
Also another tactic I use are suicide bombers, again spread out to the back of the screen and all over the base, I have 10 as that is all I can fit in, as unit space will not let me have more, but the more the better, remember Mega Tanks take time to turn around, and if a player is busy directing his units its all to easy for the suicide bombers to run up behind and hit them, so upgrade the suicide bombers they do 10000 in damage and are good at defending.
Remember that the attack log will only tell you that you lost one suicide bomber it will not tell you if he managed to get through, on units with low health its easy to tell as in the attack log it will say that an attacker unit was killed a suicide bomber was lost but on units such as fully upgraded Mega Tanks its harder, but even if the bomber hits the tank its health will be reduced by almost half.
Other units such as razorbacks rocket buggies will not be able to hit a running suicide bomber as it runs at them, so the attacking player will have 3 options, if he has units that shoot straight such as tanks and hope they can take out your suicide bombers or he can loose his units or their health or end his attack.

or use them on aggressive and place them somewhere in the edge of the map, although they can be taken out quickly by players who use air support with their tanks(so this is for lower lvl, or noobs that keep attacking you!)

i believe it's only available from lvl 3 CC on. you selct the unit, and in the right down corner you can chosse the stance of your units.

4 players attack me all the time, got use to logging on seeing 100% damage, but now after reading this post and some others I seem to be able to with stand attacks, thank you Lars and Martinjohn for your advise
