There are quite a few sectors out there that favor the peaceful "no hitting in sector" policy, and in every sector there seems to be some rebel or group of rebels who don't care, and just want to play the game. Some are more direct than others, but here is a list of reasons/excuses that some will use to justify their actions to the rest of the sector, avoiding suspicion.

1.) He hit my miner

2.) He asked for a bubble earlier

3.) I was giving him/her a base test

4.) It was an accident

5.) I thought he/she was in the next sector

6.) My brother logged in and did it

7.) I was hacked

8.) This is a pirate game (True story lol)

I opt for the "somebody stop me!" approach. But then at a pretty well equipped level 31 I guess I can get away with it a lot more!

    My reason is this.
I started playing Battle Pirates from the very beginning. Back then there was no chat at all, so there was no such thing as sectors.
Since there was no chat, people would attack anyone so when chat was added everyone was against everyone just as before the chat. No one made the no hit in sector rule as everyone still hit in sector for months after the sector chat was added.

As time passes, I started to make friends with some of those in the same sector as me and one by one all those who I attacked went inactive and I didn't want to attack my friends. So that's the only reason I hit out of sector now, because I have no one left to hit in-sector. Then relocate came along, new people arrived and I found myself hitting in-sector again, hitting the new arrived players. Later when I started moving sectors, I hit those in the sectors I moved to. I keep saying this "I didn't move here so I could spend 30mins waiting for my fleet to get to some base in another sector. I moved here to hit those in this sector!" When people say don't hit in your sector I will always reply, "I started in sector 2. Sector 2 is my sector but this one is not. So I am not hitting in my own sector but instead yours."

It wasn't me, it was the other guy with the exact same name as me.......

Because (insert random player's name here) told me so.

I was giving him a free base test while he was afk.

I thought you were an enemy.

I didn't know you were in sector

I forgot you were still sector ( I had him on ignore  )

So, I see that square base, roll up and flatten it. Suddenly there's sector police everywhere, the noob is crying on coms and everyone's looking at me like I'm the bad guy? Shoulda built a better base.

I'm also not allowed back in that neighborhood.

MAST has a rule: frind or farm.
Works every time. When they attack me for attacking in sector I make them look bad in comms by saying, "You know that no hits in sector rule you made? Heres tge battle log: _____ attacked (coords)." Gets em every time.

I love being in the neighboring sector to one that has the 'no hit within sector' rule. All of their bases are poorly designed because they don't get hit much and I raid high level bases for low damage! Bonus I don't hear the whining...

Even better is moving INTO one of those sectors

My main reason for in sector hitting "28M for a 30 sec sail, beat that"

You can please some people most of the time, and you can please most people some of the time, but you will never, ever be able to keep those bitchy little whiners who inhabit yours forums from having a cry about every single thing you ever do (or don't do).

That's funny some of the guys I hit every day became my best friends on here and still to this day remand my best friends But the first few months we try to kill each other every sec we could lol.

The throttle got stuck and my boats charged the guns.

Just wanted to see how this new fleet layout worked.

    I thought you quit.

The other sector was coming and I needed to give you a 2 day bubble quick; you can come get your res back if you want. ;)

I am having a bad day and felt like killing something.
