Old Casual Collective Flash Games - What's going to happen to them?

"Casual Collective? I haven't heard that name in a long, long time..."

Hi, I've just recently joined the Kixeye forums, but I've been around ever since the Casual Collective days. With the advent of flash being killed at the end of 2020, I just need to ask; Will the old CC archive ever be saved, or wil they just be left to, well... Pass on into memory?
Casual Collective's library of flash titles is an impressive one, and one I'd hate to see gone forever. If we could just get somekind of archive pack (a la ninja kiwi) I think there's people like me who'd pay money just to have a standalone steam release of the Casual Collective Classics.

I've heard some mentions around the web that some kind of emulator or other program could be made to let Flash games be run directly on your PC to try "archive" old flash games as it were. So maybe they'll be kept alive via that path.
If not, well, I guess they'll be thrown onto the ash heap of history.

I recently heard that the OG Farmville on Facebook is getting canned at the end of 2020.

RIP. Sad they couldn't keep this. They are the games I love. I have no interest in playing Kixeye games, just dark and sad. I would pay for a CC subscription :D

I would definitely pay like $5 a month for years on end if you guys would revive old.casualcollective.com games.  I don't even know what kixeye is. I played like backyard monsters and battle pirates before I heard of clash of clans... and the website was cancerous... I think one of the promos had a little kid swearing up a storm and dogs h**ping as the logo. Bring back the old Casual Collective please.

Same as players above, like hundreds people, I play OLD.CASUALCOLLECTIVE games.
Since yesterday, the servers are unavailable and we don't understand what happens.

For us, Minions particularly has become a reference game like Chess.
Can you give us some feedback ?

I tried to get The Space Game to run locally, but I've never been a Flash or Flash Site admin and don't know what I might have been missing.

I surrendered and tried to use FlashPoint (which, incidentally, runs a ton of other Flash games just fine), but all it says is "Unable to load game.  Please notify www.casualcollective.com"

I arrive here to discover this thread of conversation, which seems to suggest (but does not decisively state) that Kixeye might be pulling the plug on all the old stuff.

If true, that's unfortunate.  But it's not the first time I've lost a favorite game due to technology advancements.  The unfortunate truth is that engineering durable code is expensive.  As little as we pay for these games, we get what we pay for.

Perhaps it's time the gamer community steps up to the plate (seen above and echoed by me in many, many forums over the decades) and actually consider paying for games instead of constantly looking for free ones.  Programmers need to feed their families, too, you know.  : -)

Ah, well, it was a fun game.  If it is truly dead, I will simply have to appreciate that it existed, rather than mourn the loss.

I really do believe there is a significant pool of potential players for minions. Minions almost died due to weeks of crashes, so ppl stopped playing as they thought it was dead years ago, yet a fraction of us still remained. If minions is put back again with a few corrections made I bet hundreds if not thousands of ppl would play it again...I guess this is not in Kixeye's future plans which is understandable….although a shame I will cry for. A small feedback would be great though.

i have no interest in FB games.
Minions was an inventive, well balanced, multiplayer game which would last around 10 mins. It was addictive, though, and you would rarely play just one game ..

It is a shame that KIXEYE has seen fit to kill the game and the community, but it's their product and their server.
