repair / build times wouldn't it be good if we could just roll back time to 5 years or so ago. when we had time for raids, chore's ect. and still had time for sector war's almost every night, without a massive repair. ok so the ships were not as powerful as now but they were fun and took a bit of skill. the worse thing i hate is the way kixeye move the goal post once an event has started... increased damage and adding new content to a raid cycle for instance. never used to be like that. you built a fleet for the first raid in a cycle, tweaked it for the second, by the time it got to the last cycle you had a fleet you could actually use and didn't mind coining repairs to help others out (very little help goes on now in compression due to repair times / cost ) i have almost stopped playing now and coin even less, only doing pve in the vain hope things will change and we can go back to actually enjoying the game and not looking at it like a second job. i'm a level 121 3mil id been playing for about 7 years but now getting fed up. i know one player more leaving wont make much difference but there must be more that feel the same. maybe not the vote you wanted but...... the ball is in your court
While I answered repair time it is a very narrow difference between repair time and chores. Both are issues that need to be addressed. as has been stated a few times repair times on pve fleets are ridiculous 5-10 minutes of playing for 16hrs of repair is a recipe for driving people away from the game. As well chores are never ending. So much so that if you don't grind chores for hours on end you can't get what you need and that is time I would much prefer to do other things like PvP or TLCs.
I voted 'repair time' as I couldn't vote for multiple options but repair time, refit time, all the chores - like all the chores you crammed into October being a prime example and content overload is a major concern.
This might be an unpopular opinion, but build/repair times do not bother me at all. I don't think one should expect to play endlessly for all the rewards they could desire without risk of failure; and that being getting sunk, losing the target and being out of commission for a time. This risk is a big part of the challenge to plan, build and drive well, which makes successes in any game more satisfying. In addition, whether you're playing chores or an event, it's you that plays the game your way. If you're routinely getting sunk to where repair times are a constant source of aggravation, it's because of your build, your driving, or your choices. You must play better. Period.
Content overload on the other hand, and as many have stated, is for me, what is slowly diminishing the fun in this game. The long build/refit times and practice to get repair times down are actually a joy for me. Seeing that hull come out of the oven to complete your fleet and hitting the map to go kick some @$$ is what its all about. To have that effort and patience rewarded and then made obsolete a short time later really sucks. REALLY sucks. I don't expect to sit on what i've got and be dominant forever - a re-plan and re-fit to stay competetive would be fine. All we're doing anymore is chasing the latest tech, until we're ditching our favorite fleets altogether because they don't measure up to the next tier. And that new tech gets more and more complicated; less fun. This game is still a great pasttime, but it's wearing me out.
I can't choose one, All are annoying. But there is one thing, that is most annoying of all, that is not posted. The fact that when all of these things, were being talked about at length, nobody listened. Now that you guys are seeing steadily lower numbers every raid, you want to listen? I gave up on this game, because you guys priced me out of it. Just to keep up, was costing the hardcore players $500.00 a month at least. Nobody listened then probably won't now, but i got a solution for fleet build times
We can build as many turrets as we have resources, Why can't we do that for ships? you count each part consecutively (one after another), why can't all weapons be built at the same time? Same for armors and specials. That would effectively cut ship build times, nearly in half I get you have to make money, not against you profiting. But would you do better getting $100.00 from 10 people? Or $10.00 from 100 people? I mean it's the same, but if one person leaves, it's less net loss if you have 100 people paying $10.00, over 10 paying $100.00. also it'll be easier to get another willing to spend $10.00 than another willing to pay $100.00
One more thing, stop giving out free fleets to deserters. You treat those that jump ship, better than your hardcore players. That's like housebreaking a dog, he craps, you smack his nose and he eventually stops crapping in the house. You are telling your player base to stop playing for a few months and get a free skull ranked fleet. I have received three such fleets (Icebreakers, Manticores and Apex/Hunter MK 1's), I played with them for a while see the build times, walk away for three more months and wait for another fleet. I've been smacked too many times on the nose, so i don't bother anymore. It's so sad to say, i don't play just so i can get a more relevant fleet, than anything i can build and rank in the time I could be playing.
pretty much everthing u changed in the last few years
played a little raid, got the fangtooth the P fangtooth the two torps in tier 5 and the torp special. just figured up the subs alone (1 weapon and no specials) 29 days for 4 fangtooths and 1 P fangtooth. Kixeye will never learn. might take another 3 months off and get the fangs for free
Repair times have always been way out there, Game is based on speed ups or the hopes of all players clicking a instant repair button with coins, The issue with this is there are to many things in the game that kix wants us to always pay to instant repair, Which needs to be addressed nothing wrong with a company trying to make a buck but everything has its limits, Many of the speed ups need to be removed but it is like everything else they wont change anything just add more and more content to the game.
As said before this game is not what it use to be, There is way to much GRIND these days and years of glitches and issues still not resolved, I mean hell if you cant fix it or you do not have the knowledge or education to fix it then just remove the issue from the game period. The thing that pisses off many of your players you wont fix any of the programming and issues that we have had for many years but you can decide something and make something and add it to the game, Now whats wrong with that picture there. Thank You
ALL of the items listed are a problem, and I woulda checked every box. But repair times on the chore fleets are the worst. I don't even bother now. Kix has shot themselves in the foot with this in an effort to milk every nickle and dime outa the player base. I might coin Mantis, for example, if they are 7 coins -- but for 30 coins? NO F-ING WAY. They go in the dock over night (and still aren't finished next morning). Screw that. I only coin PvP now -- it's the only fun in the game. PvE is just a means to an end -- hitting bases. The fact that the chores I need to do in order to hit bases cost me more than the actual base hitting is nuts, so I don't (won't) do it. Find another sucker Kix.
When you take into account the delay in the "Cancel Repair" command activating, the delay in waiting for a ship to be added or removed from a fleet, the delay in the "Start Repair" command activating - even an "instant repair" takes longer than the 5 minutes it would have taken if you just let the timer run. Everything takes too long in this game -except for the "Buy Gold" button!
The Dutchman event, 17hrs to repair for less than an hour worth of game play....not really worth it. Same with the raid 30-40min game play 8-9hr repair time....
EDIT: What is the purpose of this survey??
From the results you can clearly see where players have their concerns - will anything be done about it at all? or is this all for show??
This is slightly tough choice between ship build times(for SOME hulls) and repair times. BUT-I can say with certainty my biggest gripe is with repair times of non-Conqueror/Defender Hulls. Too many hulls are 4.5 HOURS EACH from the beginning with armor. The armor is 22.5 min each-fine. But the hulls have a base repair time of about 3 hrs. Compared to PVP hulls starting at just 30 min. Yes Kixeye-taking 20+ hours to repair 1 dead fleet is something that is so ridiculous that it makes no sense. I have no doubt if you brought those down by 50% or more you would see more people coin the repairs and more income as a result.

What is the purpose of the survey? Exactly, since they are the same things players have been complaining about for YEARS.
I call Content Overload, I get that they need to offer stuff for those who like to have the latest, shiniest toys, but jeez, a new module (recontruction matrix) & a new flag to make certain basers even tougher? (& combine the 2, as folks are going to do, or maybe some have already done) Surprised no turret tech offered this raid, like UAV turrets. (Fingers crossed they may be in FM this next cycle somewhere ) An option for all of the above would've been nice, but what do I know? & I'd hazard a guess that Tier 8 & 8.5 hulls will weigh up to 40k tons, with lots & lots of armour points, so hopefully some reasonable repair modifiers there. Too many comments on each I could make, I guess, so I'll just leave it as it is. Don't want to be negative, I do enjoy the game most of the time, & try not to get repairs (Hell, I hardly hit bases, I'd rather see others sink in mine, if not <very common this part lol>, ho hum, I have a repair button)
i have to agree if JustMike got kicked from the game there is no point in believing anything kix says now as they are sacking all the people that care about the game or at least want to listen and understand what it means about 'players first'
Repair times... I pay to win the hull, I pay to build hull, I pay to refit the hull multiple times... At least let me play with the dam thing a little bit.... By the way paying for it can mean both in coins or in time. Since when you coin you are only really buying time anyway.
I haven't played this game for around 6 months, just came back to take a look and all the old problems are still there, an avalanche of new tech, new ships, and people struggling to keep up with the ever advancing power creep, forums have comments complaining about pretty much what were the same problems when I left.
The weapons, technology and ships used now might as well be another language to me now, the emphasis on funnelling people into these events to get the latest and greatest is not only what has killed the game it's driving all the other problems people are complaining about in this poll, repair and build times were not so much of a problem when the options were fairly constant and tech was introduced gradually.
Used to love this game and spent a lot of time on it, it had one of the best communities of players and back in the day when the Sea Wolf and barracuda ruled the seas it was a hell of a lot of fun, but over the years the gradual push of players from PVP to PVE has ruined the game, every event the targets became more and more difficult meaning coining to keep up just to get the latest tech which people then coined to have a chance in the next one, it's a ruthless coin extraction cycle, and I saw a lot of good people leave and those that left becoming more and more bitter about the course the game has taken.
Thanks for the free fleets that have turned up in my absence, but I'm not getting back on that treadmill again, I put up with enough of it the last few years, when you change the course of the game to be about the players, away from being a forced money grab I'll consider coming back.
It is time that all those points are addressed, you let us choose now so you can say we work on what you want. But in between you declare tons with the other options that you leave in between time or even deteriorate. Instead of working on the issues and earning money with the game in other ways, you do it so ...
Justmike been giving the boot from kix so poll is probably useless now
I wouldnt go that far. Rest of the team is still around and who know when a new GM will be put in place. So most likely WT and the rest of the team may still have use for this poll.
What will the ydo with it, maye be different that what mike intended tho.
you Kixeye hypocrite crap why did you fire Just Mike, he was saying "players first" seems it do not go with your greedy money making and pissing off players strategy, you just did a very big mistake.
Raid followed by VXP weekend followed by bounty at the same time as doing FM and getting a shed load of TLC's That's going to be a lot of content and it is constant.
Repair time; well if only we had the one task to concentrate on then this would be manageable but you got 4 TLC's to do, ships take damage and need repair, you got VXP to get, but dock is busy repairing from TLC's and FM or do you prioritise the VXP ships and leave the others to wait? Kix solution - coin it
Chores; there you go you want to do upgrades you need res, you want to craft you need titanium, builds building upgrades you need uranium.. hit target after target boring and repetitive. Kix answer to the issue, coin the blitz!
Hull build time; this varies from hull to hull faction to faction. Some have been under a day for the hull other have been 6 days... conquest yard helps a bit as does tokens available from various places.
Refit time; same as above really, can be negated to some degree with tokens but it would be nice to have a token exchange where we could trade the ones we no longer want. But refits also require resources this again drives chores, refits taking items off then give us resources back for the items replaced - off set the cost.
Take away the content overload and you reduce the stress on the other areas, then re-purpose the conquest yard to make it available to all ship types. Then for good measure make the two repair queues available all the time not just for bounty. That should be a good start then come back and we will let you know what you need to do next.
The non-PvP repair times need fixing BAD. When it can take 15-24+ hours to repair your ships I tend to just sigh and do time only repairs. This takes away from not only what I can do in the game but the fun also. The repairs for PvP and non-PvP should be more in line.If you made the PvP players take 15-24 hours to repair the ships you would have a riot on your hands.
But repair time - as Hull time you can always get tokens but there is no sense in building ships too fast because you usually have to wait to do an FM to get more limited items to make your next ship anyways.
I voted Content Overload. FM repairs.. Repairs From gathering Titanium, Base Parts, Uranium, Then TLC's, .. Each of those is a different fleet.. Can only repair one at a time.. so doing these chores.. Contents and balancing all the repairs so that I can be involved in the next content is a balancing act of time.. which with all the content.. There isn't enough. Refits.. Builds.. All content.. again a balancing of time.. Then you throw a Raid at us and change that raid to need a different fleet or a bigger and better fleet... Repair Times.. Chores, Build Times... it all is added into the Content Overload in my opinion. I wish there was a choice in this poll for stopping the limited specials, weapons, armor, and ships.. or Stopping Kix from forcing players to use only 1 type of hull for a particular target.. This took a large part of the fun in this game out of game. Now its look to see how everyone else is building a ship.. and copy it.
