I think Kixeye's biggest problem is with testing and setting reasonable expectations for players. It seems to me that most expectations are based on the whales, which isn't realistic. Let the whales win. Don't use them to determine how tough your targets should be. Or, perhaps give them their own sectors and events with completely different targets and expectations. But you can't expect a casual player/coiner to enjoy a game that is tuned for whales. I'm not saying that non-coiners should be able to perform as well as high-coiners, but they should be able to enjoy the game. Take a hint from Las Vegas casinos. Tens of thousands of people who gamble a few hundred dollars a day is better than a handful of people who gamble tens of thousands of dollars a day.
There was an interview a year or so after the game came out, where Will Harbin himself said, he wanted whales to come to this game. Yes he outright said, he wanted the whales. This wasn't an inside discussion,this was a gaming mag or internet interview. Many of us knew he wouldn't pee on us low to no coiners if we were on fire, so we just played our way and found shortcuts. Everything that has the game so screwed up (IE the different fleet types, escalating difficulty and rising build times for PVE ships), is because of those who find a way to do without. I believe it is Will Harbins attitude, that everyone must pay out the nose or GTFO. That is the only reason, for the high PVE costs, even though it is the backbone of the game. That is the irony, you play PVP you get lower build times, lower costs to repair. BUT to get said PVP stuff you have to trudge through the PVE infection that is the cancer of the game. Prove me wrong Kixeye, you say one thing do something completely different. Why?
cant pleas the beast if the caterer gets eaten before the dinner. I put over 6 yrs into game. Give them a chance. Go ahead flag this or whatever..but be realistic. Its effort, most of which players lack..effort to move forward...not every storm is a breeze in the puddle..
The demands you have made on your programers has exposed their incompetence or your lack of awareness of their abilities, either way get your shyte together.

Maybee instead of us all whincing about this that and the other to this us players also step a little to help. ..Stop asking for the whole toy store if one toy does it...ever hear of too much of a good thing spoils the rest? Balance- Let us Players develop what we have for now..use this time to Fix the need to cater to the Beast-The Player.

even,,and thats a BIG even if the company listened to the players at all its still their responsibility to release content at a pace that isn't gamebreaking with a pendulum swinging faster then ludicrous speed ,all on kixeye this broken game is
they and they alone own this and they know it
so lets just stop blaming players for the mess this game has become cuz its simply isn't the case
either way, I for one wouldn't mind knowing I can actually build the Prizes released at break neck speeds without it impacting the direction of play for the worse. Doesn't matter to me who takes the blame. I just want to see everything I collected built and used (Practical) then after that see what new content and direction is. Not saying i want to float the tub from 6yrs ago...but what i can earn and actually build without redundancy telling me it'll be useless by time its built..Perfect eg: My Dragon fleet. Mostly Built but going through refits for function..seen more refits than action. will they be useless once they accomplish acceptable damage/points ratio?...either way..stalemate..but still treading water just like the rest
I keep stating a slow down on new hulls is required. But once again kix is not listening to us CUSTOMERS!!!!! I quit the game again for 4 months, just dropped a few coin a few weeks back. And even with this bullcrap letter from Kix CEO, they are selling more stuff faster than ever, and coming out with new hulls even faster. As the mods can see by my join date, I ain't someone who started in last 2 yrs. I started pretty much at the start of the game back in the black water days. So far this yr the Mods have removed a couple of my posts/threads stating too much content too fast then I get messages from them stating I am trolling. Well Mods and Mr. Ceo, you need to listen to your player base if you wish to keep your company afloat. Once again thinking of just scrapping everything in my base and calling it quits!!!!! YOUR COMPANY NEEDS TO LISTEN TO PLAYERS ON HOW TO KEEP THIS GAME GOING!!!!! I use to play war commander, but it got so far outfield with new content, too fast way before BP, now BP is going down that same road even faster..... Y'all sure do know **** a damned good game. Just slow down on the hulls, and give us players time to build a full flt before they go obsolete, or pick up the pace on build time for NEW HULLS instead of obsolete hull that are worthless!
Battle pirates is not a game no more its like a full-time job chores bounty raids tlc no time to breathe cant even go away for 2 weeks as if you dont play you would have lost touch with game its getting to be a pain in the arse i hate having to get base parts titanium urainium i just want get on have fun not have to collect a heap of crap before i can start a build the game has gone into hyper drive its getting stupid you where the highest grossing game ever your 1st yr then yous just went spastic and now i dont have a word for it . but it no longer fun its a constant chore

When i read something like Will harbins letter, i think of the best possible case, by my interpretation of what they say, then figure on the exact opposite. Yes, i expect the worst possible scenario, because that is exactly what they do. I expect most of the guys you see on the forums, not mods but CM's and Will himself, Running for political office in the near future. I see these jobs, as political training for campaign promises

I never asked for content, I asked for the content to be fun. Watching it build as it slowly becomes obsolete is not fun. True i could coin it, but that is coining to actually use something, i earned in battle and is neither for fun or valuable.
its all lies nothing can save the game at this point..... no one trusts or believes in kixeye .... its very hard to get something back once you have lost it....
