my understanding from various LXC posts and manni notes are as follows:Resistors mitigate damage. that means all incoming damage of the matched type is reduced to the HULL and ARMOR. This is multiplicative with the hull, armor, and all bonuses [such as the cruiser health bonus and the ISC armor skirmish bonus]Resistance armor adds capacity. The res armor and skirmish armor for the armor piece only add capacity against the given type of damage. This means the hull gets no benefit. It is my understanding that ISC/cruiser/cutter bonuses also multiply on top of the ISC bonus.shields get no mitigation in any scenario.

Tired Milkman nailed it pretty accurately. Let me add a little bit:Resistors stack multiplicatively. This means that two 50 percent resistors would equal 75% resistance (50% of 50% remaining) NOT 100 percent (50 +50).Resistance armour is calculated by essentially adding extra capacity to a given damage type. This extra capacity is untaxed (you don't pay for it in repair time) is affected by resistors (damage done to this extra capacity is reduced by resistance) and multiplies with other hull bonuses such as ISC and Cruiser mark upgrades but ONLY for the armour it provides.
