This is a quick review of the possible Hydra combinations using the GoGo-Bar for testing.
OK.. it might looks like this unit is weaker than expected, but remember:
- it's just at level 1 of the Omega upgrades.
- all its tech components are still at level 1.
- all the opponents are at level 21 promoted.
Weapon Types |
Burst Cannon Best Vs All vehicles especially the Heavy type.
Area Launcher Best Vs Infantry and Buildings.
Gatling Gun Best Vs Light Vehicles and Airborne targets.
Mixing both Weapon & Armor results in a 9 Unique Units. the following table shows which targets each combination is good against:
Unit #1 Burst Cannon + Anti-Burst Armor
this should be very effective against armored targets [Heavy Vehicles] like Ultras, Dante, and the Growler. It has explosive shells with splash (maybe +80)
Unit #2 Burst Cannon + Anti-AOE Armor
This should work against the Elite Legion, Legion Clones, Nightmares, and Doran.
Unit #3 Burst Cannon + Anti-Sustain Armor
Very durable against Punisher tanks, Baldur, Inferno, ground Avalanche turrets, and Bunkered Preservers\Operators.
Unit #4 Area Launcher + Anti-Burst Armor
Artillery Launcher is very effective Vs groups of SF infantry.
Works very well in bases filled with ground Rail Launchers, Flood, Blitz, and Ion turrets. It also should work very good vs Commandos, Grenadiers, and any Infantry equipped with the rare version of the M4GX.
Unit #5 Area Launcher + Anti-AOE Armor
Effective Vs bases with SF infantry units that has splash damage like Sarkis and Infiltrators. and ground turrets like the Overwatch.
Unit #6 Area Launcher + Anti-Sustain Armor
This should work vs groups of Heavy\Operators, Preservers, Kara, Sheila, Bro J, and ground Avalanche Turrets.
Unit #7 Gatling Gun + Anti-Burst Armor
This should be very effective against Deena, Cyclones, Airborne Rail Launchers, and Ion turrets.
Unit #8 Gatilng Gun + Anti-AOE Armor
This should work vs Airborne Overwatch, Night Owls, and any Infantry equipped with the rare version of the Adaptive Body Armor.
Unit #9 Gatling Gun + Anti-Sustain Armor
This is for targets like Airborne Avalanche, Pandora, Hailstorms, Jericho, and Hellhounds. The Hydra will be able to withstand a lot of damage from the Hailstorms and shoot them down at the same time, and it will be able to dodge Hellhounds\Jericho’s rockets while shooting at them.
Test #1 Burst Armor level 6 Vs Rail Launcher level 10
This armor reduces incoming burst damage by 90% and area damage by 30%. which increases its durability against Commandos, Ultra tanks, Rail Launchers, ... etc.
but leaves it vulnerable to Sustain damage targets like Operators, Preservers, Punisher tanks, and Avalanche turrets.
Rail Launcher stats:
DPR slightly over 2,000,000 damage points.
Omega Hydra level 2 Stats
- The first one without any armor, lost ~90% of its health after 2 shots. killed after 3.
- Omega Burst Armor reduces damage by 90% so only ~200,000 damage points will hit it. and it will take about 4,277,800 / 200,000 = 21 ~ 22 shots to die.
Best defense against the Elite\Omega Hydra, is to always have a mix of the 3 damage types at the same time. never leave your base guarded by Punisher tanks alone. or fill your bunkers with just Commandos.What do you think, Commanders? please share your thoughts, observations, and corrections in the comments below.
