Isen's expedition. Short story to spice this forum section up:)
Here's a story for those who check this section of the forum... It begins on the deck of a mk4 dread battleship, commander Isen has completed his task of stealing the blueprints for the Vega Apocropha cruiser. This new hull should give the rebels a chance to beat back their vega oppressors. As they travel home they can't help but feel they are being followed, over the communications network they hear that two seperate rebel alliances are fighting one another for domination over the sector ICU and OSP having at it in sector 300 throwing crew and ships at one another, casualties continuously growing "This bloodshed has been going on for..." The radio cuts and is replaced with "cease and desist" Vsec have located the rebel ship and are now charging after commander Isen and his fleet. They are almost caught up to by their pursuers, but in front of them as though the light of luck shined upon them they see a jump ship a mere 2 seconds away ready to warp across the sector. The fleet manage to successfully escort the jumpship to use as a escape from Vsec. Isen sighs in relief, looks to his crew and consults a sector chart which allows them to see they are currently orbiting planet 1519. This planet is occupied by the E.M.P alliance and their allies, and being a ally Isen chooses to ask permission to dock and refuel. Losing track of time Isen and his crew spend weeks drinking and upgrading their ships, they need to get back to 1501 to hand these blueprints into their ship master. Upon leaving their refuge in 1519 they venture closer and closer to their home in 1501, along the way trading crafting materials and resources with the likes of Scourge and The Vanguard. A mere 1 hour away from their destination the communications radio can be heard "The war is over, a unsavoury ceasefire has been established" being so far away Isen has no positive or negative reactions to this news but to what comes next has him rattled... The radio switches to local planetary communication of 1501, "Assistance requested, Vega are attacking all outposts in 1501. We need someone to help." Isen knows this is trouble, his child is on 1501 being looked after by his younger sister. Isen being a seasoned commander calls his allies across the sector and with new wormhole technology his allies arrived their tags emblazoned on the side of their mk5 ships -V-, SCRG and E.M.P and many more arrive dozens of fleets housing hundreds of ships charge in to defeat the Vega invaders. "The rebels will stand together and defeat the foe who is knocking at our door" a E.M.P commander decrees. "We shall not fail to help our allies." Immediately follows from SCRG. Alas the battle is done and the casualties are high but are outweighed by the free and the living of 1501. Isen finally after a tormenting journey home docks his fleet walks to his leaders desk, slams the blueprints on the desk, "Here you go! Those blueprints you asked for." He immediately walks out onto past the fleet bay telling their repair workers to take their time because he doesn't intend on going out into sector space for a long time. He walks to his room seeing his little boy flying model versions of his fathers fleet around the room, Isen scoffs looks to the 20th century arm chair in the corner of the room, lies down and the light fades to dark.
