Shipyard and design mode.

With the new introductions of base parts and the ability to equip base buildings and turrets while upgrading another base component. I was thinking it would be nice to have something similar in the shipyard.

Here is my suggestion. Why not have it like this. If you have a ship building, Why not allow the design mode to allow ongoing refits with a time penalty.

Such as. If you have a ship that takes lets say 3 days to build and you want to refit an item that takes 12 hours why not add a 50% time penalty for the refit making it 18 hours.

This would allow players to have a ship building while refitting another and kix would still come out on top. If players wanted to coin said refit they would have to pay for the extra refit time.

    a time penalty ? I 've been looking for a time reduction and a second drydock/ship yard for years , they've finally started giving use reductions in build time and you want a TIME PENALTY ? my fellow Pirate, please move out of Colorado and rethink this post :-)

    Look at it this way. Even if you gained a time penalty for refitting while building a ship you still come out building a full fleet faster than just building alone.

    Having two things go at once versus one item going at a time... clear winner even if you have to pay a bit more for coining. Also, they could add to the already ongoing objectives something that would reduce the penalty itself.

    there's already a time penalty for removing what's there ( which does make sense ) I need roughly , $4,000.00 US to catch up on my builds now , so I can't take a penalty ... and the extra reit going on while building a new ship is a cool idea and would be awesome , except Kixeye is only going to give us the time penalty

    Well, I actually agree with you. It is extremely difficult to keep up with everything in this game. However, why not add to the suggestion in a positive way. What I wrote was a suggestion on adding onto a feature that is already in the game. I think honestly just the idea of having an option added to the design mode to allow us a refit while another ship is being built would be in itself.. Awesome.

    With that said, what would you suggest kixeye do to add to this feature. Maybe ship parts? scrapping older ships for parts or something of the sort. I mean honestly if we want anything to happen we as players have to come up with what we want and give that info to kixeye.

    Do I see them making these changes without having the benefit of making more money? No.

    However, the simple fact that we can now have an upgrade and equip going on in the base at the same time is a positive step to the future of allowing players to catch up.

    So, if you have suggestions on this topic that can help build onto something that we can actually get kixeye to look at and go.. Hmm that would work and make everyone happy, then by all means post it.

    I'm not trying to have this come off as anything negative, I just want more options just like everyone who plays battle pirates.

    Well, when it comes to things like the weekly, baser's and raid fleets I already know what and how I want to build.

    Although, like with the centurion and at that time unreleased drac sat base and mining plats, we didn't know exactly what would be best to combat them. So in that instance yes, I built the centurion with one new cannon and built a fleet of them first and plan on refitting this month.

    With stuff like that I think it would be wonderful to have a ongoing refit option while normal ships are being built.

    I mean honestly, I wouldn't mind being able to have a second ship being refit for a small time penalty. Most players would and could be able to time out both being down at the same time. That seems like it would effectively cut actual full fleet build times down a bit.

    Plus there is always the specialist, and R&D objectives that could add to a reduction in secondary refits.

    I knew what to expect with the siege targets, hit one in the VXP preview with some old Strikeys........OWWWWW........
