Since you are not replying to my posts I thought I would put another question up for you not to answer. Along with the several in my first post that has a high number of likes and no reply.
Could you tell us why you didn't build the new version of the game, submit it to apple for approval and then release it all at the same time once you finished making it. Instead you have pushed half an update on us with what appears to be unfinished values, break the game and alienate all of your customers. You had a game people were playing and worked. Now we have a broken shell of a game and players are stuck in limbo until you do the next update which is potentially 3 weeks away.
Also, I would like to provide some feedback from watching the battle vortex video since the guys running the cast made a complete mess of it.
I notice that you stated several times that players should be taking damage and that zero damage was bad. I think you have this wrong. From a players perspective I want to inflict as much damage on another players fleet while taking the smallest amount of damage possible. I should be able to go into any battle and take zero damage through exceptional flying. To achieve zero damage I should be able to fly my **** off. It is your job to make it as hard as possible for me to do that with the fleets and ships you throw at me. Adding in carriers with high amounts of damage and massive range just pisses me off. No matter how well I fly my ships I will take damage. Players are at different levels of flying abilities. You are supposed to progress in a game and get better at it and as such get rewarded. This is a natural progression of games that you are lacking.
Secondly you need to add in a reason to do things in vega. For example why should I attack a players base or fleets? I get nothing from it. I get no new tech, no crafting materials, nothing that allows me to progress in vega. The only thing it gives me is repair time. I have no incentive to come out of my base and fight. Winning a battle if i take 99% damage and my opponent dies is not much of a win if I then have 24 hrs repair time
In addition, giving me a reason to use a whole range of ships I have available to build is a good thing. I have plenty of ships and tech I have never used and had them for months. You state that you are normalising speeds to make building the game easier and to enable you to balance it better when doing events and such. This does not really wash with me, it just speaks of lazy development. You have (or had) a large group of players who could have tested alot of the balance issue you speak of if only you used your community better. Maybe this is an area you should look towards before everyone leaves.
Please sort out the events so I am not sitting here for 3 days hitting the same event fleet one after the other with no variation. It is boring. kill, repeat, kill, repeat. lag out come back 15 hrs later do it all again. Give us some variety. Hell give me a lvl 100 vega for a load of points. Id rather kill that than 1000 vega fleets over 3 days
Finally, is it so hard for you to put some kind of disconnection detection into your game. This alone would make your mobile customers happy since mobile connections are inherently unstable. If someone disconnects or goes into auto and dies you should be able to detect this and put the fleet back to a pre disconnected repair state. Things like this help to retain players Not spending months developing an in game friends system for use on steam. And sort out the "reboot your modem" everything's working fine here support system, if 500 people disconnect from a combat server and all say they have a problem in chat, chances are it's not their modems!

I love it that the moderators posts the current event and closes it immediately. How are we supposed to play the event when our fleets are completely down and totally screwed. We are not players that can sit in front of our computers and/or mobile devices to play this event 20+ hours a day. We have our lives to grind, real life crap that makes and breaks our lives. If I have to choose between my real life and this now burnt to a crisp game, I will choose my real life. Its a good thing I only spent USD 5.00 and not a penny more. Again, I don't give a flying hoot about being banned from forums as my participation with this game will be at the minimum. Kixeye, I hope you enjoyed backstabbing your fans of this game because it will be gone in about 6 months or less. Just like other Free to Play and then Pay thru the nose to continue play space games.

Not only that, the shields are like non existent and the weapons are killing the health faster than ever.
My sector in the last even was sooooo busy you could hardly find an event fleet and race for the ones you could find.
Now? It is a ghost town. Almost no ships in sector and comms usage is way down. I would love to see some playing statistics to show how badly KIX has killed the game.
I'm getting really drained from all of this. I just want Paul to acknowledge 2 things.

High DPS does NOT makeup for the ability to survive (health)! If
you're surviving only a few seconds, that extra 100-200 DPS doesn't mean
anything. This is especially true for new players that don't have
access to higher DPS tech yet!
2. You aren't going to drive the
Meta by shifting repair times! The fact is that the Meta is going to be
driven by the players and their desire to be competitive!
As
posts from several coiners have already pointed out; you have simply
reduced the repair/cost of their fully maxed out fleets. This means
that casual players will be facing these fleets even more. Paul's Glass
Cannon Fleets will do nothing to the Max fleets these coiners will be
using. So casual players will NEED to shift to Max fleets like the ones
in my post to still be competitive/have fun. This makes it so MOST
people's repair times are going to increase!
PvP will be
penalized too much and people will shy away from it because of this! No
one wants their Fleet Bay repairing a single fleet for 24 hours. It's
not fun and it severely overburdens active play.
I
participated in the entire Battle Vortex interview last night and at NO
point did this subject really get addressed. It was mentioned and then
glossed over like many other things. We need a plan to help repair
times for all fleets be at a more acceptable level. Not just the ones
that have mass bonuses on non-repair items.

I would say somebody needs to lose their job over this but unfortunately if the death spiral continues the whole team would be in danger of losing their jobs. The guys who busted their butts to make this amazing game for us and are probably just as pissed as we are about what is happening. I feel bad for those guys as they deserve better.
Here is my plan. Move the decimal point. That lowers repair time and takes zero development work. Instead of waiting a day. I'm waiting an hour for repairs.

I post this knowing that no one from Kixeye really doesn't care about what anyone of us is saying but as Im about to use this as a teaching tool so I need to at least post something.
I am a restaurant owner and I give guest lectures at the 2 local Universities in a my free time for my friends that are Profs there. I lecture on a wide range of subjects. While I have used VC as an example in my Biz Strategy and Game Theory lectures I recently start using it as an example in my social networking lectures. I will now use it as an example in my Basic Resturant Management lectures as a great example of poor customer service leading to the down fall of a small biz.
I don't know the first thing about computer programing but I do know a lot about biz management. Its pretty amazing what Kixeye management just did. Amazing in the same way car crashes are amazing.
Do y'all have any idea what people would pay to have the level of customer loyalty and customer interaction that VC has (had)? You have (had) an army of loyal (and in many cases, paying) customers telling you how to improve your product. You didn't even have to pay for this product development advice, it was right here on the forums free to you. You have (had) players that invested HUGE amounts of time and money in researching the game, developing stratagems and then sharing those developments for free to other users in the form of vids and written posts. If you had half a head you should have reached out to those Super Players and at least ask their advice. If it was me I would have hired those guys as outside contractors. But thats me, I like to grow a biz.
Most successful biz ventures follow one of two paths, wide appeal with a cheap easy product or small appeal with a high end product. The first approach makes money off of a large amount of small transactions (Fast Food), the other approach makes money off a lower amount of transactions at a high price (High End Fine Dinning). VC was High End Fine Dinning, smaller consumer base but higher price per transaction. What you just did is what we would call re-concepting. The thing about re-concepting is that you can't do it half way, you are either all in or you're not. Your game already has a rep as a High End Resturant and by keeping the name, look and the feel of your restaurant you aren't going to bring in new guests but by changing the menu and switching to cheaper steaks you will loose your loyal customers.
There I won't even charge you for that. When y'all start to freak out and need to get an outside consultant to help save your **** you know where to find me.
The power of a player community is immense, one game I was very involved with (came within inches of winning the bid to do contract work on it!) had a huge, happy, and healthy community that had a voice with the devs. They would set up demos at conventions at such, and dozens of us would show up to support them, talk up the game, and play it in front of people and even investors. Kixeye has completely missed the boat on that side of the player community dynamic. Without that support, this update would be poorly received even if it was everything we wanted (and it's not!)

I'd suggest putting up an official poll of the forum users (which are the players who should be the most valued since they are the most invested) and if 60% of them want the changes reverted back then you do it. What say ye?

There was an independent poll about this rebalance a few days ago (that I can't find the thread for any more) and the overwhelming response was that this rebalance isn't wanted, especially the speed normalization which was voted the least desired portion of the whole rebalance.
Ok the fact one of the founders replies to us about the changes is evidence enough that something is really wrong with all the new changes. Whenever something goes in the wrong direction the big bosses show up to convince the "folks" that everything is fine and just for your best.

We need to craft like hell to get them to MK4 or 5 again -> More coins to buy the sure upcoming offers for craft material

And i am a player from the very first beginning and really pissed that all the work, effort, time and money I spent to get decent ships is now wasted and worthless.
And with ISC ships with their huge mass will be the only ships worth to build ... so your announced goal to bring more diversity and make the game more playable is also a choke !!
Actually you messed up with your ideas and didn't listen to the players and that sucks. I won't spend any more money to this game if you implement these changes. And I am already checking for other games which don't betray the players.

Kix killed the game for existing players by making it impossible to play in an effort to attract new users who found the working version of VC too difficult.

Are you joking? New players getting boot in the **** hardest. When i started i could get to lvl 25 like few weeks. Dont see this happening anymore. New players need moths to do that because there is no ships they can use for farming.

My tip to you? Equip medium shields on venoms, up the armor, get higher range, high accuracy weapons. Substitute with higher armor, medium shield cruiser like the rev, arm it. Use the same strat that Manni told you to do. Just work it out, it's not difficult. Adaption is not complacency, accepting an old pattern and hoping it survives in the new paradigm is.

ok im read all the post and got a conclusion, is a big pile of crap, when a im start to play the game i dream to get apoc and dreads because i want power and better chips agains to my enemies, That was the reward for my effort, monts to get the ship´s, frustration because i need learn, figth with lower ships and more thing, when i get apoc o my god im happy i get it im better player i can fight with anyone.

This Riot is accually usless. Metaphase Shield is like Snow in Sun ray, now. So you dont lose nothing....even for coiners this is a hard transition. So many fleets to refit. Alot of players (especially olders players) will drop out this game. A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT.

Are you kidding??? This is one of the biggest **** in your whole statement.
1. More weight in ship and fleet will add more repair time in the end even with your repair time adjustment -> More coins to do instant repairs
2. All the changes need refit of the ships -> More coins to speed up refitting
3. We need to build the new ISC ships to get the best ships now -> More coins to speed up build times
4. We need to craft like hell to get them to MK4 or 5 again -> More coins to buy the sure upcoming offers for craft material
And you want to tell us this change has not the goal to make money ???

And i am a player from the very first beginning and really pissed that all the work, effort, time and money I spent to get decent ships is now wasted and worthless.
And with ISC ships with their huge mass will be the only ships worth to build ... so your announced goal to bring more diversity and make the game more playable is also a choke !!
Actually you messed up with your ideas and didn't listen to the players and that sucks.
I won't spend any more money to this game if you implement these changes. And I am already checking for other games which don't betray the players.
And one final word... instead of making useless changes to the game you should stop all the scripts used for cheating in this game !!! Since you opened the game for mobile phones this game is full of cheats and that pisses a lot of people. But actually it seems like you don't care about it.

The last actualization is totally unfair! Was dificult for a player less of lvl 45 win the ship on riot. Now is impossible. Why reduce so much the life of our ships????? Before the actualization i could beat an vsec 45 with a 33 fleet, and repair all with 5min. Now only survive two or three ships and have 1h to repair. And i can't imagine the consecuences to events like conspirancy or shadow.
You reduced the time of repair, but is a useless thing if the fleets have much less life. Your kind gesture of reduce the time repairs is only an illusion trick.
I don't like NOTHING the last actiualization.
This kind of things are the things than kill a game slowly, making the player lose the interest in the game.
Kix killed the game for existing players by making it impossible to play in an effort to attract new users who found the working version of VC too difficult.
Kix's loyalty is to potential customers, not existing ones who are expendable.

Are you joking? New players getting boot in the **** hardest. When i started i could get to lvl 25 like few weeks. Dont see this happening anymore. New players need moths to do that because there is no ships they can use for farming.

the new players i saw to many bases lvl 1 or 5 and know player´s who only play one week maybe one month

Hmmm....quit **** about it and leave VC for good. They have demonstrated their untrustworthiness by changing things to benefit themselves, and violated their EULA. Take as many of your friends with you as you can. They don't deserve you giving them as much as the time of day. Screw them and the bubble they floated in on.
