    Just a note.  These numbers affect the base reload value, and the "75%" translates to "75% reduction of reload time".  This reload time is then affected by the reload bonuses afterwards.  If you have a weapon that takes 4 seconds to reload, at legendary rank, it will only take 1, giving you an equivalent reload bonus of 400%.

    However, if you want a simple explanation, basically a Legendary ship will fire about 4 times the rate of an unranked ship.  However, there is an upper limit of 5 shots every second for every weapon.  These "shots" include salvo shots.
