Greetings, Captains!

We are introducing two new campaigns this week: Dragon Strike and Dragon Strike Elite.

Dragon Strike has two Prize Packs and is unlocked at level 55.

Dragon Strike Elite is a time-limited campaign that may be repeated up to 5 times.

Let’s take a look!

Dragon Strike Elite - Time-limited campaign. Runs until November 10th.

Mastery Prize: Draconian Coaxial Turret (0/5)

3-hour Structure Repair Token

(HINT: Exceptionally useful if your Dock is destroyed during the campaign.)

12-hour Damage Protection

What you need to know:

  • Dragon Strike is unlocked at level 55. It features two rounds with 5 & 6 encounters respectively. A Prize Pack will be available for each round.

  • Dragon Strike Elite has 7 encounters and may be repeated up to five times. A Mastery Prize is awarded for each completion.

  • The first two encounters for each run through are normal Fleet vs Fleet encounters against Draconian ships. Encounter four is a standard Draconian platform. Other Encounters feature the Base Invasion mechanic.

  • Only certain encounters features a new Base Defense mechanic. Once this encounter is activated, your base will be imported into the campaign. You will see a notification that your Base is Under Attack and a prompt to go to that battle. Shortly after, the Draconians will begin their invasion. You may control your defense fleet while in these campaigns or choose to spectate. Base invasion is a series of waves per encounter.

  • Test your base’s defenses against these Draconian forces! Some Draconians invading your base will move to the closest target and fire while others will continue inward in an attempt to destroy your Outpost.

  • Drac fleets will attack in waves. You can see the notification for an incoming wave as a new force enters your base. At any time, you may “Surrender” and the combat will end with no further damage done to your base. However, if you surrender, you will not receive damage protection from that attempt.

  • If the player survives the encounter by sinking all the invading forces, you claim Victory and progress through the campaign.

  • If your Outpost is destroyed, you will instantly receive a Defeat regardless of the remaining state of your base or guarding fleet.

  • Enemy Drac forces do not retain their damage taken between each attempt. Similarly, your wave progress is not retained between each attempt. This means that if you end the campaign, you will restart as if you had not started it.

  • Damage dealt in the base invasion is real damage! HOWEVER, the campaign is specifically timed so that players may start normal, slow base repairs and this should give you enough time to heal most of your buildings before the campaign expires. This way, you won’t miss your opportunity to try again or make changes to your base layout, if necessary. You may also Repair Instantly if you want to get back in the fight as quickly as possible. We have reduced the instant repair cost of the base by a significant amount to help get you back in the fight as quickly as possible. This extended campaign length is something new to Battle Pirates, so be sure to use your time wisely.

  • If you succeed any prize pack, you will gain Damage Protection. Damage Protection is not cumulative. Damage Protection is triggered at 25%, 50%, and 100% damage, exactly like normal base attacking. Players will earn the longest version of damage protection, regardless of success. For example, if a base were to take 50% damage and still succeed, you would gain 24 hour protection for receiving 50% damage. The maximum amount of damage protection gainable via campaigns is limited to 4 for the first run through and 4 for the second run through of Dragon Strike and 6 for the Dragon Strike Elite.

  • You cannot be attacked during a Base Invasion portion of a campaign. Your base is considered under attack during this time. Others may spectate this battle as normal.

  • You may still start a base invasion encounter even if you have damage protection already active.

  • You will receive a replay of your base invasion attempts, which will be located in the NPC tab of the Replay menu.

Obviously, this is a very new idea for Battle Pirates. Never before have we attempted to make base defense a feature. With this in mind, we wanted to make sure that the campaign start and end times were designed to help players take advantage of this base testing system to its full advantage. The move to reduce Base Repair times is also a new direction for Battle Pirates. Keep in mind that speeding up a single building does not gain the benefit of reduced repair times.

Good luck, Captains!

We are aware that the Countermeasure ring for the Draconian Coaxial Turret is not showing in base view. QA has bugged this and we hope to have a fix soon.

There is some confusion about the Protection Bubble being given.  The Protection Bubble can't be saved for later use like a Token.  If you are under a Protection Bubble from a prior attack you will NOT  be awarded a Protection Bubble.

Protection Bubbles are given for the following per the briefing:

    • If you succeed any prize pack, you will gain Damage Protection. Damage Protection is not cumulative. Damage Protection is triggered at 25%, 50%, and 100% damage, exactly like normal base attacking. Players will earn the longest version of damage protection, regardless of success. For example, if a base were to take 50% damage and still succeed, you would gain 24 hour protection for receiving 50% damage.
