I'm kind of bummed that the triton and sea scorpion are not being retro'ed, but oh well. My question is for the FAT, How long will we have to build the fleet? And, Will it still have to be repaired in the normal ways?
Sorry but these questions have to be asked, as i don't trust kixeye with assumptions
It's still being worked on so this info is sparse at best. But the idea is that the first fleet construction will be free and refits will be free if the ship is at full health. This fleet won't take up room in your Dock and, likewise, no fleets from your Dock can be used in the tourney. So it'd be a purely Arena-only fleet.
why I feel like next FAT I will scrap my base and ships and go to play another game? every time you are excited, everything is going wrong in this game.
i wonder what that permacrete is and if it will help the turret defence in term of armor maybe more then what we have currently and i also would like to know what that relocation thing means are we still limited to one jump for a week
im glad that cryo launchers will be in the retrofit lab and even the siege battery thanks for that would like to know what are the bonuses those two will have if its possible before you add them tomorrow would just like to know
What I don't get is doom stated he can't state any info about the next FAT. Says it's not all worked out. So when do they have time to test these things of they just throw it together and release it. Hasn't history showed us to test your **** first?
If you want tokens to work your going to have to increase the amount your dealing out which i said to happen in raid , also couldn't you increase the capacity of the amount of tokens we can store at once ?
For the next FAT I wonder is the toy box going to be new hulls no one has played with and all new tech and weapons or will it be certain fvf hulls tech and weapons?
Us non-coiners should stick to the PVE part of the game because the only people who play PVP are the coiners. Which makes It look like you brought a squirt gun to a nuke fight.
Quick question.... Is Kixeye sticking with the no uranium win back policy for the next FAT?
This is all I care about. You can give me the ability to make my dream fleet in a toybox but if it costs me 300k Uranium to get a friggin' prize you can count me out, me and several thousand others.
Everything sounds great, but CAN WE PLEASE STOP FIGHTING THE REAVERS? I think the mega-coiners and/or super awesome alliance helpers have done enough to obliterate the Reaver armada about a dozen times over. The Reavers pretty much screw over anyone who doesn't have a specific set of hulls accessible to them that complement their fleets. This is mainly not having a frostburn and/or a fleet of all fast ships (24 combat speed or higher), or weapons with high damaging and fast projectiles (cryos take forever to hit the **** ships, and was the only decent weapon I had in January, it was pretty brutal). The Draconians are a bit more forgiving to those that do not have a specific hull set. Although some hulls are (vastly) more effectively than others, not having such a hull doesn't get your fleets instantly incinerated on entry into combat.
CM Doomrooster.. Can we get an idea 2-3 weeks before you start coding , how new FAT is going to work .. It's very hard to make changes last minute as you sad yourself and better yet tell us about new changes during the start of the tournament. Please learn from your mistakes not repeat them.
Yes i know .. it's 2-3 weeks of ****,that can start now .. but look at the brights sight .. you can't be blamed for not telling us ahead of time. And you may find some of us have great test cases you can use during testing.
*edited for clarification.
Highly unlikely that they would put in a base relocation feature in the middle of a raid. Raid starts on the 11th. The new feature is supposed to be added on the 16th. 4 day raid plus 1 day to redeem prizes.
oh im sure it will fit in perfectly
When in doubt, don't discard the chance of them cutting the raid short again
What has happened to the second iteration of components that were going to have their times adjusted?
How can Dantes and nova storm get specialists, yet the dnx is without?
Like the relocate option.
Hopeful for the new FAT format. But how much uranium will it cost to design those fleets?
Rumors are that this is another hull store, any truth to that?
Thanks for including dates in the wip, that is appreciated.
1. I will believe it when I see it (we're now 2 months past a supposed new faction and change in raid story arc and are still facing reavers)
6. Doubt it. Hull stores are historically 6 day events. This upcoming raid is confirmed to be a 4 day event because the new FM content lands on the 17th (wed start of weekly as usual).
Bookmark relocate,very nice.
New Fat format, wait and see approach, don't see how it could possibly be any worse than this months.
Abyss,yawn.6 months we have fought against the reavers, are the draconians dead?
Were is the issues of repair and build time?
Were is word on improvements to token offerings?
Were is the word on FM changes?
Nothing on a possible new faction (was told would be may jun and nothing not even a hint of any yet)
No new ship retro's for dozens of hulls that are extremely old and need help.
But on the up side thanks for saving me 2 months of ship building for an arena fleet.
Repair times and build times are being addressed with tokens and with some lowering of initial build times, as we've seen with recent prizes. It's a small step, but a step.
We've added tokens to the FMs as alternate prizes and to the FAT. They will most likely be added to the upcoming event as well (read as very likely). As far as increasing capacity? That probably won't happen for a while (if ever), so be sure to use your tokens when you have them in order to get more!
FM changes are still in the works. I think we're aiming for July. We're going to see how reducing the total amount of new FM content to 2 per release and changing the cycle to after events and see if this helps players get caught up. Once we know how these changes have affect the FMs, we can move forward.
Re: new faction... Le sigh.... No news as of yet. There was plans for a new faction in May but this got delayed as we got busy implementing new features instead. As it stands, there may be a new faction sometime later this year.
re: Ship retros. Yep, and we'll get to them eventually.
Glad to hear you like the idea of the new FAT format!
Really disappointed you haven't done more with build and repair times and think what you've done is good enough. So the tin foil hat crowd appears to be right....you jacked up repair times by releasing a whole bunch of 150% repair modifier fleets then release hard to obtain tokens and claim your doing something. Are you all really trying to run the game into the ground? Or just make it fun for the few that choose to spend 1000s on the game?
I do have some concerns about the next FaT & the "Toolbox idea.
Will this mean that everyone will have access to the exact same hulls/weapons/specials in their toolbox? Even if they have not won the hull/weapon/special yet?
If this is the case then can't we just have a Thud-1 SW fight & call it a day?????
I already know my fleet that took over 5 months to build WILL NOT be allowed for what I made it for. Is this supposed to be exciting for me too now?
I am excited to be able to test out new 120 fleet builds before committing to them. But I will say my 1st thought when I read this was how terrible this was for folks that spent a huge amount of time building FAT fleets. I'm not one of them, but IMHO this is worse than the reaper nerf. At least those you had some inkling they were over-powered in player bases. This is just a full sea change out of nowhere.
I read that as using the toybox blocks out the use of actual ships. I wouldn't at all assume that the use of built ships was being disabled, just that it was an either/or. Also, no idea what's in the toybox. Even if it was everything, that still could be less than ideal for many players (not me, I'd probably use it, but my best fleet is BCX), if the toybox ships don't have rank.
Re: new faction... Le sigh.... No news as of yet. There was plans for a new faction in May but this got delayed as we got busy implementing new features instead. As it stands, there may be a new faction sometime later this year.
Now wait a minute here. All of May you kept saying the new faction was not planned for May. Even tho so many of us read it on this forum at one time it was. Now you are actually admitting that it was planned for a May release.. Please tell me I'm not the only one reading this and wondering how Doom expects us to believe anything he says.
Screenshot this!
i think doomrooster confused them when he said there is a new threat in the may works in progress ...i think the threat doomrooster meant is the nexus
New war, Us against Kixeye. They win. Game over., LOL

So the new ship Aegis, with its nine plus day hull build time is Kixeye lowering initial build times?
Tokens are a farce. How can you expect it to help when you introduce two new items each month for the FM, and then one week for raid. That leaves one token set a month?
Still takes two months (in a perfect world) to get a set of each tokens (build, repair, structure, research). Don't see how that is even considered a small step.
Kixeye hasn’t done as much to annoy its users as other game companies have. It doesn’t sell decorations for games and try to milk gamers for all they’re worth, and it doesn’t sell advanced weaponry that will allow rich gamers to wipe out poor gamers. But it does allow users to accelerate time in the game. Rather than wait for something to be developed, a user can pay to accelerate the build time for units.
Why do cryo lauchers get their own category in retro lab? They should be in with lauchers
Because Impulse Launchers and Cryo Launchers, while similar, have different shockwave effects.
Actually its because they want to make sure you need to get more U and spend more coin. For as long as cryo tech has been out this was predictable. If they had been willing to 8nclude it with the impulse launchers it would have happened m9nths ago

Lmao your kidding yourself if you think that tokens are "addressing" build and repair time issues, at least as far as the player base is concerned. They aren't called "jokens" for no reason.
As for the rest, "yawn" coming soon announcements have lost any relevance long ago

Haven't managed to completely kill the game yet, so we return to the vastly overgunned, overarmored, Over-the-Top difficulty again?
No wonder I've gone form playing 10-15 hours a week to, well, damned near Zero.
Glorious.
