A simple question from a Level 49, soon to be level 50. Apart from players like me providing fodder for the socially inadequate people who feel the need to coin to validate their sad and lonely lives. What is the point of this game?
Post your base coords when hit 50 and we'll show you.......;)
Battle Pirates is like on-line betting, if the fun stops they tell you spending more money will cheer you up a bit....
New Forsaken Mission Content on April 7th. They include three new prizes: the Shielded Tactical System special; the Assault Disruptor D33-DR; and the Searing Barrage Mortar.
current rotation is simply just plain awful and ridiculous (well, you can't blame Kix for not being consequent) - I love new content, but in general I don't get them. They are gone before I can get them - I love new content, I change my strategy based upon them, but I am still waiting for content that is gone. No idea when they will return - I do the FM each week, got MCX, Gargoyle, D5-E and Bypass CGIII the last 4 weeks. In all fairness, medium prices. Building some Gargoyles, cause I have nothing else to build, but probably wont use the others - I was really after the Nuclear Accelerators and Locust UAV. And before that the Atlas, and before that... it goes on and on.
6 out of 12 prices are still open. I am ok if they add new prices, but let's make it first in first out, so remove oldest prices first. Or even better, let's move after 4 weeks some of these prices to Tier 3.
Kixeye (like every other games company) judge the success of BP on whether or not it meets the bottom line financially, and it will continue to be supported by them until that is no longer true.
Unless you happen to be a member of the Kixeye Accounts Team (in which case you WON'T be posting here I imagine) I'd suggest all the stories about when and where the game will fold are just that - stories.
That it will fold at some point I have no doubt.
Meanwhile:
Nobody has "invested" anything in this game by coining or spending time on it any more than you have "invested" in MacDonald's by having a daily Happy Meal there or you have "invested" in Vue Cinema by going to a weekly film .
The time and money you spent was for the entertainment (or otherwise) you had AT THE TIME.
Nobody held a gun to your head, nobody forced you to play, the Company "owe" you nothing for the fact you played the game and keep on playing.
The "player base" suggestions will be adopted by them only in so far as they improve the bottom line financially.
Since most of the "player base" suggestions involve getting "more" things for "less" time/money then it's hardly surprising they don't get "listened to".
I tried telling my utility company I should have "more" electricity for "less" money - same thing happened.
So either suck it up, use less or switch companies/games - only if the bottom line falls do they take action.
The WiP post would seem to suggest that content is set to continue expanding, presumably as a means of keeping existing "high level" players interested and playing.
That may be a positive sign - or the last hurrah - I don't know and neither does anyone else posting here
The game in 2015 is NOT the game that it was 12 months ago let alone "x" years ago (when you had crawl through 20 miles of broken glass in a blindfold on the Arctic ice shelf carrying a Polar Bear on your back just to get a Hammerhead......)
Not entirely accurate. If someone spent real money to speed up a build based on stats so that they could use that build for their enjoyment then those stats were nerfed, the real money spent was actually taken under sketchy circumstances.
This holds especially true if the nerfed stats means that you should spend to speed up another feature to regain strength.
It is true that nobody forces one to spend and what I personally find, is that the above actions on nerfs etc have taught me to keep my wallet closed.
Sorry, I have to disagree.
The coin you spend is for a reduction in time, period.
They can change the stats of anything, as and when it suits and that is in page 325, appendix A.12, of the T&C which are held in a sealed vault labelled "beware of the radioactive tigers" under Mount Cheyenne.
You are completely correct however in stating that such behaviour is a p*ss poor way to treat your customers and equally correct in closing your wallet.
If it affects the bottom line they listen.....
This is called a dupe.
When then bean counter leans out of his cubicle and tells the ceo that the spending has slowed on the new whichamacallit ship and everyone has coined as much as they will on it.
The ceo then tells the game team to switch it up so that we can monetize the crap outta this.
And so goes your "change of stats on page 325".

Actually you are incorrect despite the claims & what is said in the rules, there were "premium gifts" of Forsaken ships, and LCX offerred with a coin incentive. That passes from the time model to tangible items. The same goes for any player who has outright purchased Res, or coined a ship without starting the build & committing base res to it's build. Those purchases include " tangible " items virtual or not & go outside of the time model.
I have little doubt that is why the premium gifts of res & fully built hulls are gone. For this reason & the fact they were retardedly overpriced & misleadingly worded in the premium res gift dept. The wording implied it was a complete fill-up where it ended up being around 10 mill if I remember correctly.
And @ Lucky996 it goes deeper than that................... they will leave an "oops" in for the first week to 2 months to incite the speedup of that fleet, then notice the problem and "adjust it" around 2 months later. Usually just before the non & low coiners can see any benefit from it.
This has been a running thing for the past few years...Started will Hellstrikes, now it's become standard practice. Including messing with reload & saying they boosted damages to compensate when we've been fighting resistive fleets for the past 18 months....you know the type of fleets where reload not damage make a difference
They're calling in Greenpeace...to save the vanishing whales. Greenpeace showed up, looked around, shook their heads sadly, and said it's hopeless....
ltangrylittledude, keep disliking my posts you jackass
Looks like he is disliking everyone's almost, keep seeing 1 dislikes on a lot of the comments and it is him, guess he just dislikes the overall convo.
Fighting among ourselves only helps the Draconian Empire stand back up, stronger than ever. They might be weakened now, but it is naive to underestimate them.
can we get a sneak peek on what is going to be done with the dread, nuclear cruiser and vindicators?... they due to 2 weeks from now so a small teaser would be nice

so spending money on coins..... thats paying for a item not time, also the premium gift of giving a friend coins of 50-100 also an item, then the premium gift of giving a friend a fully built ship for coins is also an item when it was available.... im sorry but this whole spending money for speed ups bullpoop its no diffrent than spending for something, your kidding yourself if you think your not buying it. buying coins alone is spending money for an item, spending coins on filling up resources fully, also an item. spending coins to instantly build an a ship or turret or research right away before starting the research or ship build (wich pays for even the resources without taking anything from your warehouses, is an item since the coin cost is sooo much higher, it might have something to do with a little TIME, but it also purchases an ITEM. your point is invalid, have a nice day......
Now your point is invalid .We are buying only time speed ups , because everything here is time, time ,time . Resources are time , builds are time , repairing are time and that's how kixeye see's it .
Normal work day at Kixeye . I had Jail Bars Twice does that make me an Double Badass ?
I got some ideas i would like to share with everyone about tokens and veterain points, that is, why not using what already exists in the game, for example since uranium is already used for so much things why not using it to speed up builds, etc.. say 10K uranium for 30m speedup, and 20K uranium for 1h, heck it can be even added extra resources for that, both players and kixeye will benefit from this (in my way of thinking that is), since uranium not easy to get and well 200k uranium to speedup something in game for 10h can be helpfull in some ways... Another idea i have is about veterain points, why not using the medals to raise the veterain points on a fleet? say 100 medals for each 1k veterain points? another thing already in game that can be used for something, makes sence since u win medals from hiting other players bases, why not using them to rank ur fleet(s)? and best of all this will also benefit both players and kixeye, i think for those that play this game for as long as i, will c the benefits from this^_^... that's my 2 cents, thanks for reading.
on this point of argument about time as no one owns time therefor you can not buy time ,, when buying a build you are indeed paying for that item and not time ,, under law it states that the buying or selling of time is not an item hence no one owns time it is a right giving to us all by nature or by god whatever you feel better to say ,, therefor the whole concept of buying time is wrong and would not stand up in a court of law ,, hence when you spend money on the game you are indeed buying that related item within the game , therefor any change to the said item comes under a consumer agreement and therefor is subject to compensation if the way the said item is affected due to updates ect ,, if you really want to pursue the case you are within your rights to ask for compensation for the change ,,,, now charge back this is where the customer pays for an item then recalls there monies after they have the said item without consulting the company they have bought from ,,, this in itself is a form of theft which is indeed a crime kixeye would be within there rights to disconnect your base account ect from there server and take legal action ,,, but on the other hand you are allowed to reclaim monies spent under law for defunct goods , no matter if the goods are pixel or real ,, you must read the tos but if there is an issue within it is better to discuss that with the company ,, at the end of the day your credit card company or provider that you use for to pay for pixels goods will give your money back to you and will collect it from any company they deem to have mis sold the said goods ,,, tbh the legal terms are to wide and varied to put here so i have done it to the best of my knowledge in plain english ,,, you can look up these laws in your own country as certain countrys have diffrent laws covering this
What you are actually buying is a reduction of the time for something to built (for ships purposes at least). A ship will take time to build say 10 days 3 hours and 45 mins (days, hours and mins are all periods of time). 1 coin equals a 30 minutes (a period of time) reduction in the time it takes to build a ship.

I am honestly not disappointed in the token system implementation because I had no expectations in the first place. Bit coin is making Kixeye millions and millions of dollars in profit. Paying for product that doesn't exist on a physical plane I am certain has incredibly low overhead or expenses to produce and maintain. Kixeye and its parent companies primary concern is profit not the player. I assure you. They will not do anything to risk the reduction in profit margins. No surprise they are implementing a campaign that only top dollar players with top dollar fleets can accomplish. I love this game. I hate the way its run. Kixeye you have a great intellectual product, but there are a hundred game similar to BP with a much higher advertising budget. I know there is incredible pressure on you to crank out profits, but you very seriously need to take more drastic steps to keep your player base happy and playing. I know you are doing what you can within the boundaries of what you are told to do, but take a risk for the players. It might reduce your quarterly profit but long term I promise you that we all will be better off.

if they used medals for vep points there would be more high lvls players beating on lvl 50-55 players who have crap bases, this would be the worst idea ive ever heard

Raids are meant for higher level players with more capabilities. Low level and ill-prepared players can do the FM and now, the Foundry, to get tech up to date to become more competitive in raids.
My reaction to limited time token campaign, new forsaken mission content and a harder time of me getting the old content, new repair specialists, and the dreadnought going R10... in that order https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDUG4oYwdb8
Time Time Time, why do you ask are they saying your buying time. This is a legal issue since if they sell you a product or item they don't have the legal right to take it away from you. Kixeye has created a problem and one way out is to make everyone believe they are just selling time. If a player is banned and can't use a ship that was purchased that player has legal recourse ( may get reimbursed), But if all they bought was a speed up tough chocolates. This is called three card montie in some places. Just think about the the effort put into this we are selling time campaign.
watced the event teaser. looks like a good idea depending on the way it works, if its a random drop prize or does everyone get it that sorta thing, interested in how this raid and the tokens pan out. just waiting till then

Kixeye is introducing repair tokens/ refit/ build token as an alternative to coin, mainly to supplement the system.
Kixeye puts it behind campaigns.
Given the difficulties of most campaigns at their level of unlock, chances are, the token we earn will be lower than the coins we spend.
AWESOME WORK KIXEYE! I am sure you will turn a profit if people fall for the bait.
you are going to be very popular
will this do?
