The reason launchers ruined the game and caused me to comprehensively quit is that they ruined one of the deep reasons BP was fun for me:
The strategic decision making as to what to build on a ship.
Best weapon for most fleets for most purposes now is launcher. This is stupid, this is boring and this kills the game. I have not logged in since the start of the launcher raid. I have retired from game, retired from locust and this post will be my last interaction with a game that was a 3 year addiction on which I spent thousands of dollars.
Kixeye, you have been teetering back and forth on the brink, one moronic, short sighted decision after another. This one just tips it over the edge,

The part about no strategy and different weapons for different fleets is a legit point. I have 2 year old battleship fleets that i can get rid of cannons, free up a special slot and have a fleet that at the moment, level any base (bullseye), i have sea wolfs, Levis, HH, FF that i could put Launchers on everything. Have more range, more damage than any other possible combo.
That couldn't be said about any weapon perviously put into the game.

They way to look at it is adapt. The game changes, we adapt. You now have a challenge to solve. So it makes some smaller players equal. Adapt. It is a strategy game after all.
Im sure Kixeye has something coming thats going to make this whole launcher thing a little more complicated, then just slapping it on any hull.
Although I largely agree with Hast, I would add that zombie specs generally make pretty short work of Nuc fleets. Even if I lose, that's three minutes repair to me, 12 hours to them. If that's not fun I don't know what is.

Yeah but funny thing is Im seeing a lot of abandoned bases around.
People are adapting. I am seeing more and more NCs fail in a base as folks learn what to do to stop them. It is not an end game hull and weapon combination like everyone is saying.
This is a long **** game, it's like Chess, takes a long time to lose and learn, winning takes a LOT of heart, you are either up for it or you are aren't and can't mate.
You are much higher than I in this game, but you lose because you are giving up.
Possibly the most ridiculous thing I have ever read on the forums. Whether or not Hast's assessment of the game is correct, it has obviously run it's course for him. Battle Pirates is not a life-long commitment, it's a video game with a limited run-time. Realizing when it is time to move on for whatever reason is not losing - it's just ending.

A lot of people are just losing the coin race... so they complain.
a counter will come out and it will be crap in a month or 2, ive seen nukes stopped in bases and ive seen them stopped in fvf all it takes is evade.
Killed a feet of them again (NC's with Launchers) today the good news. The bad news 15 hr base fleet repair. This on top of beating a HS fleet the day before for a 13 hr repair. I somehow don't think adapting with this level of repair price tag is my definition of fun.

i dont know if the vindicator with his resistance to radiation cuts down the effects of the launcher, if it does you got your counter ship right there.
if not use drones, they dont get stacks for the shockwave
You are entitled to your opinion, and you are entitled to "cherry pick" and find what I said ridiculous . I have NOTHING against any player. But he stated in his post that he gives up because of the new weapon, which will never be the end off the game, real players are already beating this, and the one's that can't are planning how to beat it.. If he want's it to be like that well fine, but you people are the real one's that do the killing in this game mate.

I disagree with you man..
Once the BB crew is fixed ( who knows when ASAP actually is ) this gun will be put back in its correct place. It is going to cause us to change our guards to be able to keep out another fleet, while not over doing it where morts or siege missiles can walk right through.
With my guard change, it doesnt matter what hull you put the launchers on they have died in my base. ( unless they run the BB crew ) There will always be a place for Morts and Missiles.
today i kill 4 mcx with d92u, i was lucky because the guy he didn't use bulleseye brigade and my evade dnx do the dirty job.i agree with predator and i am almost out of the game. Out there is a lot of strategy games that u can play without money and repairs is instant.
Oh please please please refit all your hulls to the launcher.
The best weapon for FVF will never be a weapon that has 70% accuracy.
Strategy is more alive then ever. Ive noticed kix moving in a very positive direction with weapons like distrupter cannons,chain guns and impulse guns
Just because you fight retards that stack their low evade short weapon range fleets when fighting impulse fleets. Derp derp derp. Dont think this this weapon is overpowered
it has some strengths and it has some weaknesses. If you think its going to be solution to every problem you could not be more wrong
Tell that to the guy who spanked a NC fleet with a evade mcx fleet with assault missiles and sfb3, and barely got scratched.
Counters already exist, i had worked out a new base design that would stop them a few days after the raid.
Spending another 40 days refitting my guard fleet and changing turrets is a different story. Not in a hurry to do that.

i haven't been hit by them just yet..but i have seen them take out bases that were unbeatable..more people are coining and that is why kixeye is making it harder for us non-coiners
