Tips to built a good base ? (with Video inside)

I've heard here that to have a good base is necessary to have updated weapons. but I wonder if you guys do not have some design tips to enhance this defense against "Destroyers", "Frigate" and "Battleships" (as in the video), any tip is welcome.

    First off all. take off the shields from the miners. when they come in to prep your base with destroyers they love you for it. as they wont be doing damage to your hitpoints while they move in closer to the guns. makes them able to apply more damage to your defenses.

    Make everything more compact around the bridge and get rid of the polaron.

    Also get level 5 lasers. damage dofrense is insane.

    I'd also say get rid of the mass drivers.
    Lasers, Plasma battery and plasma torps is what you want.

    thanks for the help man, I will follow your advice, mainly to eliminate the polaron, I was even thinking of removing it.

    Just FYI, I'm pretty sure shields have NO EFFECT on base HP. Armor does tho. But it takes longer to repair things that have tech of any kind on them. So if you don't mind 2hr repairs for your miners then go ahead with the shields.

    But that aside, it IS a waste of upgrade time to put those on. Only weaponize your towers/bridge/storages.

    Bring your towers closer together. Best turret choices I've seen was a 6 PC, 4 Torp, 3 Laser (one laser on Bridge). Naturally the Lasers should be at least level 5, while the level of PCs should at least 4 and the level of Torps should be at least 2-3 (if you have it).

    While Rev blitzes are perhaps the most deadly (and use energy weapons) it is actually probably best to use Shockwave shields on towers due to the common use of Venoms (particularly in the light of Laser defense). If you sit your Torps right you don't be attacked by destroyers (unless someone coins up a Trident)

    I would post my base but I cant figure out how. Either way my base isn't the greatest since Curtis has already picked it apart in his head.

    The point is that if someone comes in with broads to prep your base and they hit the miners on their way in, they will do minimal damage to your base HP. taking away the shield and they will be able to shoot once less. and maybe not being able to fire that last shot on the plasma charger to destroy it for example.

    Miners stop mining when they are damaged anyway, and a shield always allows a little bleed through. It's just a small thing, but there is no point to have a shield on them. it's a waste of time aswel.
