they are now considered illegal and it makes you change it before you can see the map. And if you were smart and put all the building except the outpost out to the edges no splash would not hit the outpost. but let me guess you probably have, halos, disruptor cannons, goliaths, javelins. All the thing I do not. So im suppose work my but off build what i think is a good base t4 everything but i still cant stop the new siege fleets who get to roll right through my base and take everything ive spend time working on. Thank 5 up 5 down fairest way, then maybe some of us newer players will build bases the way you elite players do.
I think it's funny to hear all the people complaining about square bases and calling those who have them wimps. Duh, it's just a simple strategy that happens to work. If you girls can't handle it, maybe it's you that have the problem. But thanks to all the 6 year old whining, "wah wah, I can't hit their OP, no fair!" kixeye has decided to change the rules without any warning. What a joke.

I have never seen a square base that works. Every single square base can lose its op.
Personally - I don't believe in square bases. But it seems to me that someone is behaving extremely butthurt about not being able to hit an OP, and have qq'ed about it to Kixeye who then - like in a dictatorship - implement a rule about square bases being illegal?
I might be wrong in this - but is Kixeye - as a company who worships their "player base" - now telling everyone that certain things are not allowed, because it makes it "tougher" for someone to get alliance points? As it is - the game clearly favors base hitting at the expense of base defending. So how about letting players use the tools in place n the game to try and play their game?
Next thing might be someone qq'ing that pinch rockets in a base hit works for too long and Kixeye then removing them or banning the use?
Battle Pirate Lore tells us game is set in the future. Wierd that Forsaken has somehow forgot about having a dry dock. Shipyard for building and dry dock for refitting ... or what Kixeye?

All buildings must be within 4 Land Tiles of water regarding base design. ???
Magicsarap please explain what this actually means
Just the OP. You have to have a wall, and then 3 more tile spaces of distance between the OP and the outside of your wall.
It is limiting base designs nothing else ... so you cant build base like you want only how Will Harbin want when there must be way to take out OP no matter what all the over powered weapons with idiotic splash some may have a base where 3 star attacks cant be done ... its just message to players to move on to new game
Its funny because it looks to me like a lvl whatever can just run around farming 40s for points. Btw it also seems it doesnt matter if your in an alliance or not for these new points. lol So I am lvl 61 I should be able to get 25 points from a 40.... Im sorry but that isnt even close to right. Wow Kixeye proves yet again they want to kill this game off. I mean they must REALLY hate mid level players.

40s will lose their value after this first week unless they're active hitters for medals/points, putting them back on a less likely to be hit status.
Interesting catch 22 I'm in. Kixeye effectively no longer allows island bases (all building must be within 4 tiles of water). I cannot view map and launch fleets because my base design is now illegal (msg tells me I have to have buildings within 4 tiles of water to launch). I am bubbled and have 15 hours of repair time left. Because I am repairing, I can't change my base design. So I can't launch fleets for 15+ hours. Nice glitch.

haha there was a warning in previous thread cant remember exact stating that it should help remove square bases i knew this was coming a few did if you have a square base kix stated it wasnt against the rules but wasnt thier intention to be allowed so they fixed it tough if your not happy instead of moaning about it go make a base to stop the attackers you dont have long lol

Dictatorship? It's a goddamn game. They decided it went against the spirit of the game and changed things to make that clear. As for your invocation of the slippery **** fallacy: LOL. Get a grip.

Seems the least Kixeye could do about new change is let you change to a legal design. How ever it does make me smile that you get a little FU for having been running with a noob cube.
Unfortunately the salvage pirates will leave. Kixeye should have made this feature optional. I for 1 can't stand the icon in my base because I don't give a rats **** about the feature. Telling people how to play the game square base or not is forcing the lazy players to say fck it, because they don't care about the strategies of base design. The game needs every player it has, and I'm afraid sooner than later there will be a lot of dead bases we'll have to wait to be cleared for a full year. Change the system again to satisfy the crybabies, salvage pirates, and those who don't play daily we still need them.

You're right - it is a game. And why do we play games? Cuz they're supposed to be fun. But if you get told to not play like you want - but follow the "spirit of the game" ... meaning you can't utilise any means to protect yourself in the game, then where is the fun. Suddenly you can't play a game like you want to. Cuz someone thinks it is "against the spirit of the game". Sounds to me you need more of a grip than I do.

No, because I'm not a moron. Taking the football and running off into the locker rooms isn't allowed either, and crying that somebody might get their feelings hurt and not get their participation ribbon if you don't allow it doesn't make the game 'fun' it makes it stupid.

i just think the medals is a waste of time and energy and from what i hear they have it on vega,if i wanted to play vega i would i don't want to play vega so why make bp like vega???/
LMAO, the new medal system will probably kill off all the smaller alliances in game, prepare for mass dis-bandings, I already disbanded mine.
Why? Because bases are going to be hit a bit more frequently? Sounds like your alliance was pretty awful if you're disbanding over that.
Disbanded because we are low level approaching level 40, soon to be hammered by much higher level players on a daily basis. We were a small group who just wanted to use the chat and get some small bonus' but the bonus' never seemed to make any difference. Most of my friends have quit their alliances in the past few weeks and many refuse to join any because it's all pointless. By the way, my friends (not in my alliance) are all level 50+, two of em are level 60 and have no interest in alliances anymore. The drama, people telling you that you need to play more, play a certain way, demanding you get points every week or be kicked, told to defend bases if you are on, etc, etc. We simply want to play the game the way it was 2 years ago and have fun, it's a game, not a job.
All I can say to that is that they are in the wrong alliance. Our alliance has no such "rules" in place. Simply that the members play as they see fit. No pressure to have alliance points, "defend" other bases etc etc. We just have fun, and make use of the Alliance chat. Time for your friends to create their own alliance maybe or join an alliance that fits with their style of play?
Those that can - do. Those that can't - scream hacker, coiner and anything else that takes their fancy.
