Liam- You are assuming that on a 3 special slot hull someone would either A. Have the weight for this special or B. Give up either Shells 3 or Alloy 3. Use your brain. The only hull this special will work on is Siege rocket Threshers. If you threw this on a DNX hull you would be forced to have to use all medium armor plates to compensate for the weight and shells 2 instead of 3.

Karma u r a moron use yr brain.  All u have to do to make a murderous dnx is go all heavy armor that specaill and go light on seige mortars since the new shock Q with this special and HE 3 would b over kill as it is u dont need siege mortars to add weight to yr fleet and u can make a fleet with room to spare of shocks with alloy HE3 speed sys and the new specail.  BUT LIAM i totally agree i am a 72 and i think bases got much harder but that the challenge of the game thiws will make it to easy for me and to easy for others to trash me hi lvls will now ge broken by lvl 50s with this new special and a decent hull.  Way to destroy the game kixeye

Can i seriously ask you who dreamed up this idea. this is beyond a joke. the new mortars were pushing it but this is a giant leap over board. i just did some rough calculations on your new siege special. this is for 1 weapon per ship.

Triton using shock q, building damage per volley 1800

Triton using siege b, building damage per volley 8000

Triton using siege rocket s, Building damage per round 2150

DNX using siege b, building damage per volley, 5600

DNX using shock q, building damage per volley, 1050

scx using siege cannon z, building damage per shot, 1683.5

MCX using siege missile F, building damage per shot, 1575,

Thresher using siege rocket s, building damage per round, 1505

thresher using maelstrom v, building damage per round, 2870

this is without using rogue crews for critical hits.

You can not be serious kixeye. i refuse to believe a competent person has thought this through. do you want your game to end. because this will totally destroy you game. this is by far the worse idea i have ever seen from you. no base in this game will hold up after these specials are released. period. and if you want to question my statement let me put this to you.
You put me in a test server now with any single member from your dev team, allow me to construct the needed fleets and then put any base you want in front of me and i will smoke it. i challenge anyone in your company to design a base i cant break with this new special...

so before you try to tell me i am wrong and we need to adapt first show me. this is stupid. its beyond stupid its **** ridiculous.

I am shocked at how bad this really is and how bad of a negative impact this will have on the game, im shocked that a company of your stature would design this and consider for release. Im totally gob smacked. I would like some answers as to why kixeye feel this is a good release and why something so stupidly over powered has been released.

For one, your grammar sucks. Secondly, as a 72 you should be able to do math. Had you done the math instead of trolling you would have seen that @ level 3 this special requires significant trade-offs when used with mortars. Schmee's Shipyard has the special added. Go play with it. Unless you use it on a 30 shock Q dnx fleet it does not cut it weight wise, and I am sorry but despite the fact that the shock Q has double salvo, they are still useless against folks with ample hail defenses. Perhaps those who are so scared of this special should build better bases. My group and I are not concerned one bit.

well, get the prizes don't coin the builds, wait 2 to 3 weeks for upcoming changes to the defenses <--- That's what I'm gonna do, pretty predictable KE, as always.

This makes perfect sense - we have been getting more and more tools to defend our bases with recently, and not much to attack with - until recently.

Game would be really lame if you could make an impenetrable base - which was close to a reality lately.
This is an excellent point very few people are seeing....Bases are too strong as is, only 1 person has gotten into my base in 2013 and my defencive fleet isnt even done.

Only the largest of coiners would even have a chance of getting in my base & even they fail.

I see many sides to this special. But before I make them I should get some things out. That way if I'm wrong someone can help me instead of insult me.

First, I have not yet built a fleet to hit bases. Its a very in depth part of the game and I am still trying to finalize my raid and general purpose fleets. Second, while I do have some experience with hitting bases it is limited. Now that that's stated, here is what I see...

    - This special allows for more varied base hitting in both fleet design and specialization. While Liam99-DOG has listed some of the "power" fleets used to hit a base, this special is also useful on the less powerful ships. Battleship, Mercury, Hammerhead (most if not any variant) and many others can now be utilized more successfully with the addition of this special. It may not "melt" a base as fast as a Strike Cruiser X, but it will still hurt.

    - This special is available to almost any player in some form or another. Tier 1 would be difficult but doable by almost any play that has finished the tutorial portion of the game. That being said it may help to even some of the unbalanced feelings that many players seem to have. Not that I grant every troll, flamer, and lazy **** whiner on the forums credit to a lot of their bemoaning, I do feel that there is a small portion of legitimate aggravation on the part of some players. I don't feel its the fault of the higher level players, if you are a 60 and you see a 40 its completely acceptable to me for you to hit them. It is a part of the game and if not accepted by the recipient the they should consider a different game. At the same time, this special allows that same player to return fire with a "bigger stick" then before. Perhaps that 60 will be less excited to attack another base for easy resources if they run the increased risk of losing the battle in their own base. Now I understand this is a fallacy in many ways, it's unlikely a 60 would be destroyed my a fresh 40, but now its a little farther away from that impossible line.

    - There is more to a good base then turrets. I am of course referring to design, placement, and guard fleet. This new special will make hitting a building much more successful but has no effect at improving damage against the guarding fleet. This special may bring about new ways of designing guard fleets that haven't been needed before. "There's really no reason to refit my guard fleet because it does a good job" may not cut it now. Players may now have to think outside the box for handling the DNX fleet that comes in next time.

    - I have been told many times and have accepted as true that there is no "unbeatable" base. And from what I've seen, Kixeye has gone out of their way to ensure that this remains true. From not implementing diagonal land tiles to repairing base attack glitches more aggressively then most other glitches, Kixeye has proven they do not like the idea of a no entry base. It seems to me that this special only solidifies that idea. The question in this is, why is this bad. If you had a truly unbeatable base, why would you ever change it. You never need to change your guard, only repair. You never worry about losing time on something, you never lose the building. In essence it's like may thing that are asked for by people, its not always what we need.

I completely understand that this is a "wall of text" and many will either simply pass it up or chose to insult it. For those that both read and understand the intent, I would appreciate some helpful feedback. I have stated already that I am rater inexperienced with this aspect of the game and may there for be so abysmally wrong that I should delete my base and find a big **** rock. I would like to think however that I have been able to gather some knowledge as to this part of the game and there for feel confident in my assertions.
Only comment i have about this it that hulls like the HH which only have 2 special slots will have trouble fitting this new special on them without taking a huge hit somewhere else

The first thing I thought when I seen the prizes was here comes another nerf, and for the first time I hope I am right. Whoever decided to put such a special in the prize pool makes an imbecile into a genius. I am genuinely struggling to keep an interest in this game it is growing tired. But even a nuff nuff with a half decent fleet could level a well built base with them statistics. Wake up from your over-priced designer chair in your professionally decorated office all payed for by us the battle pirates and stop biting the hand that feeds you for God's sake!!! I would love to know who came up with this bright idea, it seems like you want the hard core coiners to achieve the first three tiers and then coin the special so they can cream the last two tiers, after that it will be time to nerf.

Another extremely annoying point for me is the constant lack of imagination with regards to new prizes and this recycling mentality, with the amount of money you guys make the least you could do is introduce some new stuff instead of constantly offering the same rubbish!!!

On a positive note it seems the glitches have reduced in occurence so well done to those responsible.....

Really getting tired of this talking in circles and even more tired of the lack of care you guys show towards your customer base!!!!

1st off , the new siege special is for SIEGE only .............. so it wont work with shock Qs . yes the builds are endless and i agree with liam , but why knock it until youve tried it ? if they are releasing this stuff in the raid then you kixeye takes its time to release a counter action to it , weve seen this before and it just show they have bigger plans for later . we just have to wait for it as always lol

I for one will chill out to see what is next. The new technology continues to roll through, and puts us in a see-sawing motion. There is a definite transition with base defense, and offensive tactics. My base has been excellent against average base hitters, and now I'm caught in the middle of a fleet build wondering if I should implement 1 or 2 of the new ships I've come up with. On top of that I'm looking at the new special, and I'm like **** a refit. I'll have to configure that once the next ship is done. My head is spinning like a top right now. It's getting harder to prioritize.

    Siege Targeting

The new Siege Targeting equipment increases the amount of damage dealt to buildings. ALL weapon types will be granted with additional building damage capability when Siege Targeting is equipped.

i think the calculation for triton is wrong as specials dont stack but still a overpowerd special.... imagine on a dreadx with +75reloard and +75demage a 40schockwave dreadx would kill every building 1 shoot even with aa panels and a bombarda beside and you can als kill ships fast i think for a dreadx that special is much overpowerd

And as far as the Guardian goes- Anyone who has DNX already and spends the money for this hull is a moron with too much coin on their hands.
    speaking of morons......

anyone who could compare this to a dread is the moron...the dreadx is an attack hull, this has combat speed of 3 which makes it even slower then a goli
the goli would be a more apt comparison then the DreadX
Umm- My comment was regarding the stats of both hulls. Essentially, they are the same hull. The guardian is a "Mortar Buffed Defensive Hull". What makes this mortar buffed is the 65% mort reload. DNX has 65% mort reload. I am sorry but I see no need to spend $20 for a tier 5 prize that is so similar to the DNX and can only be used as a guard. Please explain to me the justification in getting this hull? 2k armor and 1 additional wep slot? You can have it. I'll keep my money thanks.
Well you are glazing over the increased Def to each type.... DreadX is 20/20/20....the increase in those 3 alone make it a nice def hull....
As for money??? I havent coined since October 2012 and have almost every nice toy, its called skill & preparation

Those of you who claim you cannont get Tier5 without coining need to use their brain & not their CC for once and give it a try before talking out of the thing you should be sitting on....your ****

Personally damage to buildings isn't a problem, if this increased damage to ships then it would be a major problem.

Look at all good bases now, the key to a good base is the defending fleet...Any base can be taken without guards.

If you can crack a top player's base with this using Tritons, then good luck to you. You will carry less weapons or armour,

which will force you to chip away at guard fleets for longer using missile and mort fleets. Same with Threshers, Cerbs do

very little to a decent build so taking them down faster still does not get you through a base any better than before.

I totally agree with what this thread is saying no base is safe even before the release of the siege B an shock Q every base could be picked apart by all the toys making base design basically pointless and that's half the game, if it wasn't basically pointless the alliance noob cube with outpost bang in the middle wouldn't have been born, even with all the anti sub technology if someones determined to attack an retreat an pinch enough to remove your guard then your guards gone that leave's 14 turret's Vs a stupidly powerfully specially on a full that enhance's it = dead base, hey would you like to play your browser game send us some more coins, I play this game for fun not to repair constantly an give up money because the underlying mechanisms of game force me to have too,  either intelligent base design becomes a valuable part of the game forcing attackers not only to think but to skillfully control there ships or I will be retiring from my pirate career !!!!

Kix you have not thought this raid through. Again, you are catering for those who are BIG coiners mostly. You always forget about the lil guy who wants to hopefully win decent defense turrets etc for base. Looks like the prizes up in this raid, are for 'hitting' bases.... how can you hit bases if you're always bubbled, coz the big coiners can wipe any base out, espeically those of the average player.  How about making some of the good turrets like Jav's reachable like in Tier3 for example. Companies have gone broke in the past due to greed, and I think you're on the way there Kixeye, coz you are not catering for the masses, and it's the masses who make this game what it is. Well done on being greedy again and not giving a **** about the average player.

A triton has 75% extra building damage, plus the new special makes it a total of 150% extra base damage. This brings up the damage of one siege mortar B to exactly 8000! You could fit 5 tritons, each with DU4 armor, one siege mortar and one other special. This would give you a fleet of ships with a massive amount of armor which wouldn't need countermeasures because you'd already have destroyed all the cerbs by the time the vm morts landed. You could have a fleet capable of doing 40000 damage WITH EACH SALVO!!!

Normally I wouldn't be so quick to criticize Kixeye, BUT COME ON!!! Even if my math is a little off, the ships would still do a ridiculously massive amount of damage! NO BASE IS SAFE!!!
    It doesn't work like that mate. It isn't 75 + 75. Its 1.75 times 75.
Don't use Level. Use Tech when describing players. Level means nothing, its all about tech.

Agreed JoeyTwoShoes.  We just need to wait for next month's counter to those weapons.
dude i hope to god there is a counter to this because the only thing i see right now is if you can put enough firepower on that guardian to stop the enemy fleet with this special on it from getting in otherwise no base will stand a chance. unless they boost health of base turrets and other things in it sky high theres no way.

Lots of people did some honest manly crying.  Kixeye will fix it.  No worries
    ;)
Kixeye will fix with op6 or 2 extra turrnets ??? and we all going to die RUN we need some serious base things eg Water walls killl them before you go though and you can fit it like a ship etc come on guys lets all get this togeather and have fun

I cant see where it will make much difference Liam..   The weight factor and the use of a special slot will limit them to dreads only and shock Q's will be the only mort it will run as any siege weapons wont get out of our tiny docks

Siege B and Shock Q are the greatest threats to bases in the history of BP on a DNX fleet.

No-one rallied against them even though they can be gained by lower levels in weekly missions.

A plus is that many players without Halo will be building bases with 6-8 Javelin...Giving my

drone DNX fleet plenty of easy bases to break hehe

Well this game is ALWAYS going to evolve! If you don't like what's coming don't play!! It comes down to that old statement again. Liam you more then anyone should know Kix would not just bring this in and run for the hills there's clearly a path they are following and this is the first stage. To counter this would require either OP 6 or higher turret base levels... after that?? who knows but im sure as hell know that Kixeye KNOW what they are doing! If the format of this game continued as it is for years people will quit, moan or **** non stop having these new editions (all be it they have been small up to now) bring fresh ideas and a constant changing format! Players should never be complacent with a base design or how they have built their fleets... its should always be changing to keep up.
Im really surprised you have created a crying thread like this, i can only hope that the people crying do leave and stop playing because you clearly can not be happy either way!!
