Best loadout for FVF after update?

I'm looking to try and find the best fleet for fighting other fleets. I think that with the new update, the rules have somewhat changed. Has anyone found a new loadout that works better, or are the old ways still the best?

 

What ship(s)?

What Armor/weapons?

What extras?

Does this loadout apply when only fighting certain fleets, or will it work for all?

    I wish I knew.

    I was hitting L 13/15/17 before the update. A reasonable amount of res gained for the upgrades required. Now I can only do up to L13 and repairs cost more than the res gained!  Wasting so much trying different configurations and tactics.

    everyone still uses plasma batteries but new weapons have got use now. the scatter missiles have great use now, But the plasma is the way to go for now. But its good to experiment for yourself to see if you like any weapons. that is what i did for a portion of my time when i was a low lvl.

    Plasma batteries are so heavy, I can't see anyone making an effective build with them...

    well if you're putting them on harriers then use 1 plasma and shock 1 and low armor. Once you strat getting bigger ships it wont matter how heavy the plasma battery is, the plasma battery is a very effective weapon if you have them on the right ships.

    Currently, my Exo design of Spec 4 + Strafe 4 + PB 1 + PB 1 + Scatter 2 seems to work best for killing all kinds of incoming fleets. It can take blitz Exos on with a win and half the ships left. It can handle other long range fleets pretty well. The extended range of weapons prevents all ships except those with MDs from kiting around easily (at least ships that can keep up with the speed of my Exos) and since the strafe is so good I can stay away from MD fire pretty easily.
    I don't play much anymore =(

    I can auto 27s and lower with free repairs (time) using only 3 venom, with plasmas.
