What Shield is the best for using in base hitting?

which is the best shield for ships that are being used to base hit. please explain your answer

You can dodge or snipe everything else.  It is the plasma chargers that hurt.

Lasers are short range and projectiles are slow, however plasma chargers have a good range, decent spread and fast speed, so they are harder to avoid.

It is easier to get your hands on Spectral 4 than Shockwave 4 and is much lighter so I tend to use those for now, but with bigger ships and higher tech unlocked I would find Shockwave > Spectral due to the high number of explosive weapons in bases these days. Plasma Chargers and Torps are the key base defense buildings because of their DPS and range combo. So you want to be armored/shielded for such weapons.

Then you are hitting the wrong bases. Come hit mine, you'll find your BSD fleet annihilated with ease. I had a guy try to prep my base with 4 NHs and 2 BSDs and got his **** wiped. I lost a single tower and another was damaged out of 12 towers + Bridge. He had hours of repairs to do before returning that fleet.

spectral shields are the best if you are in your 20s, because at those levels everything but the laser can be dodged (including plasma chargers, since they tend to have levels 1-3, you just got to slap on some thrusters, either of them, and you could dodge EVERYTHING if you are skilled, but it only works for talons), but once you get bigger you want to get shockwaves instead. They have a lot more energy at higher levels and tend to block out a lot of damage, even if its from other types. But more importantly, they last FOREVER against explosives (thats if you put on the level 5 shield on furys)

There needs to be an option for mixed shields!!!!    It would get my vote,  I don't hit well rounded  bases without a proper mix.

I'd say generally shock, but it really depends on what kind of fleet you're using.
