Is it better to have lots of storage, or less?

I have this unanswered debate going on in my head dealing with how to best protect storing away my rez..

On one hand, its easier to protect 2 storage units and only take what you need if you need to make your next upgrade...

But on the other, the enemy is vary crafty and they will claw there way to one of those two units no matter what to get at what it contains.  And when they do that, they have destroyed what would be half your storage, and taken a great deal more then if they had to destroy more then one unit.  On top of this debate the usefulness of anti-matter as power extension cable to miners, and the (supposed fact) that destruction of Anti-matter units give rez from storage. 

In any case, I'm of the mindset that a bigger base is better since there is so much more then to destroy, and it spreads out your resources making for a harder more unrewarding fight for your resorces...  what do you think?

    Pretty sure it doesn't work that way. The % taken is dependent on the number of storages hit, not the level of them. At least that is how it works in ByM, BP and WC.

    As for AM used as extension modules - yeah pretty much, lol. Although I am getting to the point where they are getting more useful, but most people don't target them on purpose anyways.

    AM storages will yield a fraction of all reso when they are hit. I might complete the testing i was doing on this after i finish my planet rotation sheet.

    As for storages, i have 2 WH and 2 AM, x1 lvl8 wh and x1 lvl7 wh i believe, i pack 6.6milli in each res and am lvl27. Plenty for now.

    2 reasons, less buildings less things to glitch out and less storages to protect if someone does hit me. It would also seem logical it is better to have x2 wh lvl7 than say 4 WH of lvl5, cause of the shield and weight difference more armor on them

    My argument is 2 level VIII storage with shields and armor would take WAY longer to destroy than 7 level V or whatever. Also when i hit your base i destroyed 3? turrets and i was then able to hit 4 of your storage. I also have about 35 million in res, if i had 7 storage even killing one would fill most fleets to 500%. With my 2 i doubt anyone will ever get more than 1 of them anyway.

    So then what if I am the kind of person to fullyupgrade all of warehouses too then?  So now if you get through 3 turrets so your close enought to crack 3 of my 5 warehouses you now have to crack open level 8 warehouses?  I might not be able to put shield and armor on all of them.. but I do wonder how rewarding it might be to chew through one or two and only get up to 2/5s the rez (if that.. )from me.

    Would also work, but the time it takes to do that i'd rather spend on other things. Upgrading a smaller number means the tech can always be higher, it's a trade off and something each person will consider differently. I design a base with the goal of defending my storage, part of that for me is upgrading them with the highest level and protection i can, and the level i'm feeling they are somewhat protected happens to be more than enough res at the moment so i still only need 2. When i start needing more res i might add more.

    Personally I only have 2 resource storages and 2 anti matter storages. Both res storages are upgraded enough that I can hold almost 8 mil each and 3.6mil anti matter if I were ever to fill them right up.

    Both storages are separated on either side of my OP so splash will never be a problem. Having already had my base hit I know you have to fight a minimum of 3 turrets at any one time, all armoured as well, just to get to one storage. Both are armoured and shielded. Having a mix of Polarons, Plasma Chargers and Plasma Torpedoes no one has even come close to scratching never mind cracking a storage yet and as I progress further with the upgrade of turrets and weapons this will become harder and harder.

    I just don't see any real advantage to having more storages to protect. It means spreading your defences that little bit more and having some storage beside each other which then makes it easier for explosives to do splash damage.
