Why isn't Kixeye building into this new proposal a "more real world" plan that will only allow a base attacking fleet to haul away captured resources in an inverse portion to the damage received by the attacking fleet? For example if an attacking baser fleet receives 90% damage, then the attacking fleet should also have 90% less cargo capability (i.e.: reduced down to 10%) and the accompanying penalty of hauling away 90% less cargo.

This new proposal by Kixeye to eliminate the two day "friendly" bubble serves only to accommodate Battle Pirates whiners who have already taken advantage of the current two day bubbles to build up their own bases and fleets...I would gladly give up a two day friendly base bubble if these sniveling basers attacking my base would man-up and accept the actual damages (and the accompanying penalty of hauling away less cargo) for attacking my base.

you're not going to get any where if you don't build a decent base, a basic 1 is well "basic".

that's the one thing a lot of people have issues with. I think a lot of people could live with the system, if they didn't loose there bubble for hitting an opposing fleet.

The Strength in numbers does not work once you have been attacked and wiped out. As far as jumping Sectors to relieve for time to rebuild there is No way to move to a sector unless you have friends there. Unlikely that you can jump to too many sectors. Also if you jump you have no way of knowing if the Sector has In Sector Hitters and you are in the same problem. And how can a 12 hr rebuild time on OP be justified by a 1 hr Bubble? Dock 2 to 3 hrs ... if you have ships being built or all fleets in you are done playing the game for hours ... just sit and star at screen. Bubbling is an important piece of the game for all small players, give them a chance ... they have enough going against them.

Comment #10: "Finally, I've been waiting for this for a long time. Hats off to kixeye. It's good to see you guys and gals are taking more and more of our concerns to heart.

I know this might sound dumb but on the progress bar that shows damage inflicted to a base it'd be nice to see the numerical value that you've inflicted on the base. This would help, but I can live without it it would just be nice."

This is obviously a very big player ... I am a 29 trying my best to learn the game and grow to get all labs to 10, hull research that takes 20 days, etc ... and I was clobbered from 33's in above Sector and Below Sector repeatedly ... I can't build a Fleet ... I NEED them for Events ... Have not played one Event yet as I can not get a decent Fleet or Fleets built to play Event. If I can not Bubble then they just keep killing me and I can't play ... may as well give up game ... it takes SO many hours to get anything done, then you get clobbered and it takes many MORE hrs to get things done ... and you want to take away the one resource we have. That shows a favoritism to the larger players and a kick in the face for the smaller players.

If op is destroyed, that in itself should be enough cause for a 12 hour bubble so it can repair.

If your outpost gets destroyed and you only get a 1 hour bubble in this system you really need to take a hard look at your base design.

Ok, this is bullshit, one prep fleet and 5 base fleets?

    And one gets lucky?

Umm, if this is your idea of a fix. Keep it.

I don't care WHO you are, NO base is gonna withstand 5 base fleets. Period.

    Switch something back NOW.

i hate this shiet, my base took 3 hits today. normally the 1st hit would have given my base a bubble. the 2nd hit would have definitely given me at least a 1 day bubble. the 3rd fail today only gave me a 17hr bubble....i will never get my upgrades/researches done because of this new shiet!!! fix it!!!

Yeah I know, tear up a couple turrets wait an hour, rinse repeat... I found out what happened..

    Total chicken **** move.

If it takes a 34 5-6 times to break a 32 base with forsaken tech on my side, that is pathetic..

Funny thing is, it cost him 3 SC fleets... HA

Ok I hear lots of complaints and the truth is Kixeye cant please everyone. i understand what it was like for the smaller players I was there once. But having said that being hit alot helped me learn how to build strong bases. And yes big players hit smaller players, if thay fixed all the dam slide loader bugs perhaps bigger players would not hit so low all the time. I myself would be happy to hit bigger bases if my fleet with 15 hail b could handle 2 vm's without damage.

THIS IS A PIRATE WAR GAME THAT MEANS THE STRONG WILL PICK ON THE WEAK ITS THE WAY OF THE PIRATE IS IT NOT.

Whatever kixeye decide to do lots of people will moan and groan

The same with many games I have played. The higher players got to take advantage of the things they now want changed AFTER they are done taking advantage of them.

Greeting Captains, we’ve received substantial feedback from the Community that the current Damage Protection rules foster an environment that encourages “Buddy Bubbling.” We gone back to the drawing table and developed a new Damage Protection System that we hope balances the game for everyone. Read the details below and we look forward to reading your thoughts.

Why change the Damage Protection rules?
With the current set of rules, players are able to indefinitely hide behind the damage protection bubble by using the “Buddy Bubble” exploit. Obviously, this is not the desired game experience, and a tweak to the rules can prevent it.

    Proposed New Damage Protection Rules
Under the new system, there will be four different instances (two different situations) in which a player’s base would receive Damage Protection:
    • When a base has suffered 25% - 49% damage at the end of an attack, the base will receive 12 hours of Damage Protection.
    • When a base has suffered 50% - 74% damage at the end of an attack, the base will receive 24 hours of Damage Protection.
    • When a base has suffered 75% - 100% damage at the end of an attack, the base will receive 36 hours of Damage Protection.
    • When a base has been attacked 8 times in four hours (but suffered less than 25% damage), the base will receive 1 hour of Damage Protection.
For the last rule of Damage Protection, we feel it’s still necessary to allow players the one-hour of protection for those that are repeatedly getting their docks hit with rockets and/or snipers (SFB3). Also, if you attack another player’s fleets or base, the number of attacks made against you within the past four hours will be reset to zero and remove the bubble from your base (if already under Damage Protection).

Q: I need to buddy bubble so I can build/upgrade my buildings; how will I make any progress?
A: There’s no challenge in a game where players are immune to penalties. Suffering delays to build times is part of the game; however, there are things that you can do such as relocating to a sector that does not have as much base hitting, or join an alliance where other players will take you under their wing.

Q: Will you be changing how long it takes for certain buildings to repair like the Dock or the Launchpad?
A: Currently there are no plans to change the repair times for any buildings; however, after the new Damage Protection System goes live, we will closely monitor the situation and see if any changes need to be made.

Q: My Dock is going to get pummeled all the time; how will I be able to launch my fleets?
A: If players are plotting against you, recruit some allies or join an existing group. Players will be much less likely to continuously attack your dock if they know that your allies will retaliate against them. There’s strength in numbers.

The one thing i don't like is the 8 time's in four hour. Seen one person that took 8 hits to get in a base and this guy was a level 34 hitting a level 32. How about adding something where one person can only attack another persons base say 3 or 4 times in 24 hours . But gets reset if person hits back. And no im not either one in this case. This would also make people learn the right way of hitting bases and not just keep hitting till they get in. If some one goes to work for 8 hours add travel and lunch that is 9 to 10 hours away from the game to come home to a leveled dock you don't get to play that day. Then attacker hits again when 36 hour bubble is gone and the person at work again that means a person could be out of the game for days and days before being able to play if they don't coin. Just looking out for the smaller player that will stop playing do to then leveled base every day and they work and can't do crap in game do to always having to repair base to do anything else.

To add to above go to a damage system for bubbles and only use labs, turret,s dock, ship yard, out post, and warehouses in the damage %. Any thing that collects res for you don't count as damage make the people go into the base to give the damage needed for the bubble. example labs put at 1% dock at 5% with warehouses and ship yard then turrets say 2% and last the big one the out post at 10%. This % will also balance out the blitz fleet attack so some one blitz and gets your out post two warehouses and dock you get a bubble to repair them.

Sorry, sweetcheeks, but I never once got a buddy bubble. Got plenty of bubbles from people blowing my base the **** up tho.

So what you are saying is the game works fine as it is and there is no reason to change it ??

The only complaint I see here are people that want to prevent the "they hit me and then did buddy bubble so I couldn't hit back" type of situations. If that is the case, don't change anything EXCEPT a cool down period (similar to cool down if you buy a bubble) if you do more than 25% damage to someone's base.

So if I attack someone's base and do 25%+ damage, I myself can't get bubbled UNLESS someone comes in and does 25%+. That way the people that don't want to attack bases can friendly bubble if they wish. People can't demolish someone's base and then hide behind a bubble. I'm no expert and the exact numbers would have to be worked out but it should be a win/win without pissing too many people off.

How about Kixeye coming forward and posting a date for this proposed 2 day friendly bubble change? I will want to make plans to exit the Battle Pirates game if the 2 day friendly base bubble protection is eliminated...

A "deal breaker" --- I have much better things to do with my free time than to scrounge up game resources for a bunch of whiney Battle Pirates coiners who can't collect their own resources.

I never understood that logic, cant collect their own resources? Sure sounds like they collect their own resources from your weak base.

Easy answer raise the value of the dock to 25% and do away with the 10 hits in 24 hour period. Simple I think.

launchpad repair time is just way too long.
