I keep my fleets out hidden under Drac bases. Until this recent update I was just keeping them in the sectors I could reach. At most I have 1-2 fleets docked at any one time and that is only when I either have a 12+ hour bubble or have to repair them. Obviously an event changes that but most people focus on the event at those times rather than wars.

You're not responding to what I say. "My Alliance" ( I don't have one ) gets the order to target your dock and OP around the clock, every hour on the hour. They ONLY use a rocket on your dock and on your OP. Both take longer to repair than ( When a base has been attacked 8 times in four hours (but suffered less than 25% damage), the base will receive 1 hour of Damage Protection. ) 1 hour. After said 8 attacks you get 1 hour bubble, gets blasted again after the hour, you get another hour, etc etc. You are never going to get a 12 hour bubble!!!

Now you cannot repair, nor relocate until you do as I say, when I choose to say. OR you coin. Numbers will not help you as you cannot stop someone attacking a base.

It is a good way to get someone to coin, but there are lots of people who simply cannot or will not coin. Should they then rather quit playing because of a stupid, short sighted rule?

i think 1,2 and 3 are fine its number 4 thats unreasonable and actually im not stupid and i do plan. who cares about buddie bubbles i dont want or get buddie bubbles kixeye only care because there not getting the cash for them they dont give a crap about anyone else who dont like them lol theres a lot of people that need the 4 hour bubble for dock repairs its unreasonable to expect anyone including coiners to have an 1 hour bubble for a repair that possibly takes 4 hours no docks no play and i will play less and pay less ir u try forcing me to pay for repairs on docks. im sorry but if number 4 is applied i wont play anymore and i know a lot of other people will give up too you think because people have already put money in they wont leave your betting on the wrong horse i would rather cut my losses than waste coin on bullsht repairs that i shouldnt have to pay for. and btw i coin and this rule isnt fair on coiners either

That is actually a simple work around. Your alliance is doing that, fine. I simply go attack someone out of sector and wait for him or her to come attack me. They'll scout first, most likely then send in a decent fleet to try to take it. I end up with a 12+ hour bubble. Came across that problem as well lol. Next?

No, if they scout your base, another hour, it will just be a next attack. Now I don't know about your base, but 1 decent fleet should not be able to inflict even 25% on your base without prepping.

My "people" will also be on hand, if a fleet as much as move in your direction we will be sure to hit before he does.

Point here is not to beat you in an argument, it is simply to point out that the plan is seriously flawed. I bow out graciously:)

Nope. What I am saying is that I will got attack a players base, a full on base assault. In order to GOAD them into attacking my base. That's not a buddy bubble. A buddy bubble is where a person does no or very very little damage to get a bubble.

My base setup is simple. It cannot be prepped. All the garbage buildings are at the mouth so whatever you bring in is going to hit them. The OP, 3 WH's, all turrets and Guard fleet are out of sniping range. I have 28 buildings so when you take out 7.. that is 25%.

Call it a buddy bubble, a base test, goading or what ever else, the intent is the same..... A bubble for protection. some times they are needed for valid reasons outside of % of damage. What kixeye is about to do, is cut off their nose ,to spite their face.

lol If that is your position then every base hit that has ever occurred is a buddy bubble.

I don't argue that they are not needed but if you need the protection of a bubble then you should not be out attacking.. and that means bases OR fleets.

It may be bad or not. If it's bad then they will adjust things as they have in the past. But for now it solves two large problems and for now I'll bide my time and ride that coming storm out and see what is left after it passes.

You can still buddy bubble, but you actually have to do some damage to the base, as well as take some yourself. No more just popping on and out of a base. Its now a trade off when it comes to bubbling in that you actually lose something to do it. You didn't before.

You know, if an Alliance needs to go to this much work for one person, that Alliance has already lost.

I can see it getting posted in the war room, "the BB alliance (Bubble Buddies) has taken over Rumseeker. We are the greatest." o.O

Having said that, I'd prefer a slight modification to the dock rule. It does seem a problem. Either change the rule, or change repair time for docks and launch pads.

dock repairs need to be sped up to an hour max. otherwise ppl can just carry out continuous rkt attks on ppls docks (CAN'T AFFORD TO INSTANT REPAIR ALL THE TIME).
i don't think attacking fleets should affect base bubbles in any way.

lol Fleet attacks under bubbles is one of the BIGGER reasons for that in the first place.

A person can get a bubble for 2 or more days and then there is NOTHING that can be done unless they attack a base or their bubble drops. They can attack any number of fleets and if they are even half game savvy there is nothing that can be done. Making the bubble drop when they attack is logical because now it opens them up to be attacked.

I understand a problem with someone hiding under a bubble after a base hit, because there is no consequence for their actions, but to involve fleets in a dropping of a bubble does not. With fleet vs. fleet, their ships take damage, as well as the person getting hit. When their ships come out, they are available to be hit, just like yours are. its even. its balanced. People are just upset because they can't crush someones base 5 levels lower. With FVF its even and "THAT" is what they cannot stand. Its time to grow up and quit expecting Kixeye to LET you rule the high sea's, and instead, earn it!!!

    Proposed New Damage Protection Rules
Under the new system, there will be four different instances (two different situations) in which a player’s base would receive Damage Protection:

•When a base has suffered 25% - 49% damage at the end of an attack, the base will receive 12 hours of Damage Protection.
•When a base has suffered 50% - 74% damage at the end of an attack, the base will receive 24 hours of Damage Protection.
•When a base has suffered 75% - 100% damage at the end of an attack, the base will receive 36 hours of Damage Protection.
•When a base has been attacked 8 times in four hours (but suffered less than 25% damage), the base will receive 1 hour of Damage Protection.

well looks like Kixeye not thought of it all lets look now GREAT IDEA no buddy bubbles EXELANT idea but come on i agree with alot here love it BUBBLES gone but why make players suffer for defending there sector or friends. now lets look at the other problem great idea bubbles change times but WTF lets be honest im a player that gets docks rocket from lvl 30+ players and 1 hour bubble does great i agree but i wont put money on game so now my 1 hour bubble dont fix my docks so wtf do i do for the other 3 hours wait for my docks to be rocket again ? come on look at it realistic all i would do is leave game would'nt matter to me no game play no game its simple so instead of changing the bubble times how about changing the bubble times and making docks instant repair or repairs in 1 hour so atleast u can get ur fleets out to kick the lame fckers **** when ur docks are fixed so lvl 10 docks 1 hour repair if rocketed and keep the bubbles like u have but like i say if ur docks get rocketed ur allies or friends wont stop his rocketing ur docks still will it and ur friends and allies lose there docks so that would be a whole sector out of game play think about that docks 1 hour repair if they get rocketed

lol.. Umm..In most cases it is even..

However what about the person that is level 31 and does not have Assault missiles? And yes I have seen those out there.. it means no matter what he uses he walks away sunk and the other guy sails away scott free. That is not balanced.

Or the person that has Barracudas ...

Not all FvF is fair and balanced as you seem to indicate. Not even close. It's not about crushing the base. If it was that then people could simply get up at odd hours and try to catch the person unawares.

Catch them unawares? Almost everyone waits until the other person is offline, as it make an attack easier. And if you leave a fleet out, and log off, you deserve for it to be sunk. Even in the real world, if no one is at the helm, the ship will eventually run aground or sink. Or are you asking for you to be able to mine without consequence?

    You can kill their fleets.

If they hit your fleets they risk their fleets. If they hit your base they risk their base.

    Why is this illogical.

What your saying to me is you have 1 good base hitting fleet and if someone is bubbled you cant do a **** thing. Learn to FvF.

You're not seeing the picture that others see Jon.

So here is the way it is:

Let's say you live under a bubble and love to FvF. To the point where you DON'T hit bases. Which there are people that do this. A person can put you into a bubble for 2 days and you can go out with Your Barracudas, with your Interdictors or Seawolves or what have you. You hit them as they are coming out of bases or as they are salvaging. You have not only taken their res but you have put them down for 11 hours or more of repairs. While they can ONLY catch your fleets and sink them.. maybe.

This system that is proposed means that when you attack from under your bubble, now you have put your base at risk as a swap for what you are doing in FvF. It's totally logical. The problem is people want to be protected while they FvF and have that I win because in most of the FvF where the person goes out to snipe fleets they know they over-match the person because they have watched the battle and know what to send to kill it.

as a person who finds no enjoyment in base hitting as so many others in this game and sorry only bubbles i have are from being attacked but really enjoy fvf why should i be penalised for allowing my base to repair. This means even less time in game as there will be nothing to do and sorry base hitters if you get caught that's a lack of skill on your behalf.

After reading all the comments and considering the full effects of the damage protection rule change, I can only determine the effects that will happen by this.

Coiners are not effected by this.

None coiners reguardless of their level are very much effected by this. None coiners lose the ability to use bubbling as a defense against equal and higher lvl attackers, and now will have lower level coiners exploiting the new game bubbling system. This will cause many none coiners to either become coiners themselves, or to quit this game completely. My money would be on the later of those two outcomes.

A group of 10 coiners lvl 29 plus can go into any sector and will be able to completely depending on the coins they speed take control and destroy that sector.

Maybe I had it wrong! I thought just the bully's wanted this change. I never considered the people that couldn't FVF, ether because they suck or all they do is base hit. I didn't take into account the cry baby's who whine to Kixeye to get there way... What you say, makes perfect since! o.O

Swag, you need to seriously take a look at the structural repair times. Some buildings (Rocket launching pad - 15+ hours, pier, outpost - 5+ hours) takes longer than 1 hour to repair. A 10th level fully fortified pier takes (I believe) over 5 hours to fully repair itself, even the defense platforms take over 3 hours to repair. A short bubble will not allow time for a base to be repaired. Personally I would add 50% more to those listed times and make the 4th one 5 hours instead of 1 hour.

Buddy Bubbling isn't all that bad. Especially if your alliance knows that you are a constant target for others and they want you to advance. Yes there is a way for you to purchase a damage protection, but not everyone has money. Instead of a "free" bubble from a "Buddy Bubble" have to where damage has to be done to a base, even if it is just destroying the resource generators, Great Hall and War Academy.

Don't give in to the whiners, but make it to where a player can only have a "Buddy Bubble once a week, or once every two weeks. You can even make the times a player has to be attacked increase. As you know 10 times in 1 hour = 48 hour. Make it where the first time costs the 10 times in 1 hour and then increase it by 20 times in 1 hour and then 40 times in 1 hour, 80 times in 1 hour, etc. The person who is doing the bubbling will get tired of having to do this ever increasing amount of attack per hour, they will stop. The progression stops and resets itself if the player isn't bubble for a full 168 hours (7 days).

Ok so my base should be vulnerable if i hit your fleets. Will your fleets appear next to my base for me to kill when you attack my base?

Too many hit bases and hide behind bubbles or Gollies.

Im very against buddy bubbling, ask anyone i my home sector. But i fail to see why bubbles and FvF should be linked.
