So you are tellling everyone that someone from sector 380 took a 2500 min ride thru 259 sectors to base hit in sector 121. Someone has been smoking something !!!!!
Figure it out the longer the game goes on the more higher lvl players there are, so Mr Tip an all the peeps that say we had to go thru this if u had 20 lvl 33 in a sector hitting 9 months ago chances are if no one went to a new sector there are now 35 plus lvl 30 so Mr Tip an ther higher lvl players afraid to hit players 1 lvl lower then them or any higher lvl's then themselves YOU DID NOT GO THRU THIS. the odds are stacked against the 29 -32 an getting worse everyday.
EXACTLY. Strike Cruisers, Goliaths, Barracudas, etc. did not exist 6 months ago. Dreads put a definite dividing line between players when they came out, and it's only gotten bigger.
i understand the reason for the new structure and it works great for the lower lvl players but the high end players eg 33-35 are really getting a raw deal, also opening the sectors up really wont help as way too much travel time especially if ur flt glitches during combat which is a common problem after traveling over an hour to get there. the structure really needs looking at again to give the high lvl players more targets without having to travel hrs to a base the game will just become boring
Hey kixeye...to help with travel times to other sector . And since is a futuristic pirate game, why dont ya come up
with teleport bases in sectors . So if i wanna travel 2 sectors up , i go to the teleport machine and puffff, come out the other teleport base in the other sector , and travel from there .
But teleport would only be use to travel to sector , once in sector , u will have to do all you meneuvering by yourself.
Only to travel back to sector that teleport can be use ...

Greetings Captains! We received lots of good feedback for the proposed new level system and attack ranges post. Again, the goal of updating the player level system is to provide a more accurate representation of each player's experience and power. It's great to see so many players giving constructive feedback on the game. We've taken your feedback into account and now have a new and updated system for attack rules in conjunction with the new player level system.
Attack Distance Modification
A lot of you were concerned over the number of attackable targets within your Level range. This is a valid concern and when we broke this down further we found that a related area of the game, attack distance, also played a key role in providing good targets. So we've decided to scrap the 850 max distance attack rule and replace it with a +/- 2 Sector rule. The 850 attack distance penalized players who were at the top or bottom edge of a Sector and also stopped a full Sector from participating in Sector wars. The new +/- 2 Sector attack rule means that all players in a Sector will be able to attack up to 2 Sectors up in either direction. This increases the number of valid targets and sets the stage for even larger Sector vs Sector wars.
TL;DR:
The 850 max distance for attacking rule is being removed
A new +/- 2 Sector attack rule is being added
Updated Attack Ranges
Along with the new distance rules described above, we're updating the attack range rules to further increase the number of valid targets, especially for high level players. The +/- 5 Level range is remaining, but would no longer apply to players level 40 and above (currently level 29).
Attack Range Summary (note all Levels are the new Levels):
Attack range remains at +/- 5 Levels up to Level 39.
Players Level 40 and above can be attacked by any player Level 40 and above.
Note, Levels 40-44 can still attack/be attacked by Levels 35-39 due to the +/- 5 rule still in effect for those lower Levels.
FYI, Current Level 29 will be Level 40 in the new system
For clarification: Level 35-39 can still attack +5 levels, Level 40-44 can still attack -5 levels.
Combining the new attack ranges above with the new Sector distance range we get the following number of estimated valid targets for these levels:
Level 10 has 1200 targets
Level 20 has 840 targets
Level 30 has 630 targets
Level 40 has 420 targets
Level 50 has 220 targets
By uncapping the attack range at Level 40 we triple the number of targets for Level 50+ players from 220 to 640. (Please note: for those interested in the math, we did not use the full +/- 5 Sectors' worth of data here; just +/- 1.5 Sectors' worth to be conservative.)
In all cases above Level 10, this represents an increase in the number of valid attackable targets over the existing Battle Pirates system.
Player Level The proposed Level system for player Levels is unchanged from the last post. We feel that as long as there are sufficient opportunity for players to attack other players, the new Level system is correct. For reference here it is:
Our goal is always to improve your gaming experience, so we welcome all feedback, including criticism as long as it is constructive and respectful. Thanks.
y would u guys take away the plus 5 protection? all this update is going to do is make it even more unlikely that people will continue to play this game once they reach the level 40. they will become the farms for all those above their current level with no chance of growing. i guess this is the end of me playing your game. it is hard enough defending against the current level 31+ at my current level of 28 let alone anything higher. so u are saying once this take effect not only do i have to worry about the current 33's i will have to worry about anyone EVEN higher then those...sounds like its going to be open season on anyone new level 40...this is truly a bad idea
Before the monthly events, a player would have a (nearly) full DU4 base by level 29 (if not sooner) so the difference between a 29 and, say, 33 would probably be the level of the turrets / specials.
That's pretty fair, so that's why they put the threshold at level 29.
However, with the monthly events, people level up too fast now - in my experience (2 raids); you see 1 level come & go that week.
I think it's fair to say that more then a few of the high 20's and low 30's have the tech & base that correspond with, on average, 2 levels lower.
To give people a little more time, and not 'punish' them for doing the raids, the "free for all" shouldn't start before level 30, I'd say.
BULLCRAP! I just turned 29 today... in effect, I would be level 40. I got hit by a 34, for no other reason, but to grief during the raid. That 34 brought a blitz fleet into my base that was lvl 40. I have just finished researching DUIV for walls today... oh scrap that. Waiting on repairs and the additional time to restart research. So by lvl 30 ... yes, since I have considered my base first and foremost since learning that it needed help at lvl 23. From start to finish and being level 30 .. I would have effectively gained nearly or right at 20million points of experience. I am just now doing my DUIV walls ... have all turrets at lvl 4 or at least lvl 3. My fleets are lacking due to me preparing my base. Dont tell me that, unless you have played another account or thoroughly researched the game before actually playing, I should have DUIV walls at minimum, by level 29. I just did my homework thankfully and is why I will have DUIV walls by the time I hit 30.
The kicker? The points from 31 to 32 is approximately the same as going from lvl 1 to lvl 30. So there is a HUGE freggin disparity not only in time and ships, but raid vessels as well.
Now most of the older guys here will say,"Well we went through it, so dont cry". Now thats bullshit too. You did not have a lvl 34 hit you when you were 29 and go to his base to do something in retaliation, and find 4 freggin Goalies sitting in his base. I started when the cuda raid came out. So dont say you had to go through anything I have.
The 5 levels .. I have no problem with. If you open it up from 31+ to all be able to hit each other beyond that? I have no problem with... but a lvl 39 should in no shape or form be able to hit a 29 or lvl 30. You will lose many a gamers if that comes to pass without any kind of ability to deter the high levels from hitting the smallest levels.
Another note. If Kixeye wants to open up the fights with all levels, all they would have to do is make it fleet levels only. If a 34 makes a lvl 20 fleet, he can then hit a lvl 20 base. If a 39 wants to hit a 29.. make 2 26th level fleets. If they would add a +/- 5 levels for fleet/base attacks... or even +/- 10 levels, would work out much better than this Ponzi Scheme they have going.
Out of the group I move with only a couple pay and its never very much, maybe the odd repair or small upgrade/build. You will always get ppl saying how clever they are by having big ships & being able to wipe a base. Skills can be lacking for coiners that haven't had much practice with new toys but give them time & fairly enough with non-coiners too that perhaps don't have the knowledge of what to build or how to use stuff. The game is at the point where any base can be taken with a strong/fast fleet, regardless of armoury unless it has tough ships to defend (I'm really not sure that dropping a rocket or 10 really counts as a decent fight). Most of those ships are prize ships like dreads or goliaths. You have to play or pay hard to get those. Goliaths are not researchable as yet and so it seems a limited few that can truly defend their base. Fleet weapons are becoming predictable and now everyone builds with mortars/missiles, max range and antimortars. Kixeye have removed the bubble safety net & now have to narrow the levels to make it challenging as they appear to have run out of new ideas. The typhoons in this raid aren't especially difficult but are designed to cause more damage to your fleet so that you have to repair that bit more or coin if you prefer. I don't believe the prizes are anything special, poor choice of lower level ships and re-issuing the others shows a lack of 'something'. A thought is that the rocket prizes may have been designed for when they perhaps give us the typhoons in a couple of raids time. Another thought is that they might like to put random bonuses in the cargo ships such as half repair time for an hour or an hrs bubble (used from a popout list to the left). Whatever anyone thinks of all this, I still think Kix is drawing to a point where they will lose many players at all levels, paying or not (all sales are final-they don't do refunds btw!), in the weeks to come.
Looking at this chart... information on Wiki. I would suggest that Kixeye keep the level system that is in place. Only open free for all, in which all highers can attack lower levels, for those that are level 31 and above... at minimum. 31 should be the cutoff for the max lowest. So a 36+ can attack down to a 31. That way, the base has some sort of chance if you were smart to build your base first and fleets 2nd.
So even though I get hit by 34's who have a tremendous advantage, all the highers are cool with a 40 hitting a 29? Thats total nonsense.
I would go from a 27 to 35? What part of already struggling does Kixeye not get? Can't get above Levi hulls. Can't upgrade much of anything in less than DAYS. An am getting farmed all to hell and back. You are likely to run me smooth off. Did not get above tier 2 in the last, 2 events. Been coining repairs then get farmed in this event. And with lag issues, oh my aching (tender body part). Guys, this is not fun. Much of what I see, I understand, been reading the forum as much as I can. As Colin Powell said in his newest book, if you put in beer machines, they'd complain about the brand. But to change the level structure is going to serve me up to others and that is not fun when I can't fight back. I don't know all the issues ya'll are looking at, I only been around maybe four months. It may not be six.
SoDraggen, I'm a level 28, I know how it is. You just need to relocate to a different sector where things aren't so busy, but you have a chance to get res and all that to level up and upgrade. Focus on your base and not your fleets. I've been getting farmed too, so I just relocate to a quiet place to work on stuff. I use my friends to my advantage and have them help out when I'm attacked. If you're attacked and the person finds you have a lot of friends, they'll attack less. I also don't hit many bases because I know I'll be farmed. We all had to go through it and you go through it twice. When you're about a level 22 and 27 because you can't hit back and people do have better base hitting fleets than you.
I only have friends in two sectors and both sectors are surrounded by high levels that take delight in crushing bases 5 levels lower. I have quit playing with my base crushed to nothing so they cannot farm it any longer. I think my friends have quit for good. If Kixeye levels the playing field, I will come back because I love this game. If not or if Kixeye goes under, which they deserve because of their shabby treatment of their customers, then oh well, I enjoyed it at first and for a good while. Now it is just a pain in the **** with all the childish high level players and their unfair advantages.
Remember everyone, unlike most businesses, with Kixeye, "The customer is always last" and "The customer is always wrong".
When I started out, I do not remember any player 4 or 5 levels higher attacking my base. Those few times it was always an equal or lower level player, and I attacked equal or higher bases also, never having enough advantage or skill to crush their base in a single attack. And they bubbled quickly giving them time to repair and improve their defenses. It seemed proper to not bully lower players. But these current 31s and 32s with their huge advantages, prefer to attack lower levels who have no defense again and again and totally crush them, and Kixeye apparently does not have a clue nor do they even care.
With this new system I'll be a level 40 soon and looking at being a farm for the next 2 years, at least if not forever.
You implement this, I'm gone and probably all of my clan members that are all new playing this game.
This new system will suck for the new players BIG TIMES.
I don't understand why kixeye doesn't see this. Don't you want new players to have fun and stick around? You think collecting resources for hours only to have them stolen by much higher level players is fun? Why don't you sit ALL your employees down to their computers and have them start from the beginning, then you'll know what the lower level players are talking about.
If you don't make this game enjoyable for ALL levels then players will just QUIT! Give up on it. I know I will.
they should just it alone and put it back when we all started.its geting pretty stupid to play now.all i do now is log on to check out my base and upgrades.the hitting 5 above and below ur lvl was ok when i started but this new crap they have i cant follow.even when they changed the numbers on the sal is stupid also.the game isnt as fun when i started it.i know alot of high lvl players who dont play as much because of all the new stupid changes.i think there just looking for people to coin and not have fun playing the game....
I was slightly confused at first but after reading it again it's a great idea, i had a thought whilst i was hitting salvage a lot of my main fleets have stars on them however i still get points for hitting the salvage , i know that if we spend coin we can upgrade our other fleets to stars my idea is why not have a way to store the points that players have earned so that they can up grade other fleets with.

What exactly does the new level mean for a player, other than a new number. I am all for new levels, and plenty more than you guys have here, but a level should mean something.
There should be some incentive for reaching a higher level, just bragging rights mean nothing. You should be able to unlock cool new stuff at new levels. Or you should gain some advantage defensive/attacking/speed wise.
Atm I am level 33, so I will become a 51, what have changed except the number? There are many ways to extend the life-time of a game using the level as an incentive to carry on reaching for whatever stars you can put out there.
I hope Kixeye is reading this forum. I can plainly say that by the time you change this it wont make much difference to me, but your proposed changes just punish any player that is about to turn 29. They have just come though what was the toughest part of the level structure and were about to be rewarded but have to do it again. I turned 30 during this raid and Im on my way to 31. I have dread_x, interditors, and a decent base. Many of my friends are not this lucky and I dont want them to stop playing, please consider this carefully before you run off many good players. I think it should open up at 31 and the higher players will just have to wait a month for more targets to level up. Waiting isn't that hard, and its better than getting smashed every time your bubble pops. Beside there are many higher levels that taunt people in bubbles because they have this big advantage over them. Maybe Kixeye should look into excessive bullying rather than changing the levels. Please fix the glitches and battle server. I repeat start this at level 31. Level 31. level 31,level 31........... I will be there just about the time you change the levels. Thanks!
Kixeye doesn't give a jolly fart about any players other than coiners or bullies. They can't fix the connectivity issues, the ones that have cost me more than a few fleets, and are hell bent on fixing a "problem" with a solution that will make things worse, not better. Why?? The coiners and bullies are whining like babies because they can't hit more people. If you think that any of this new leveling system will make people stay, you're out of your collective heads. Wanna know the reason they're whining about not having enough bases to hit?? It's because they're all cowards who know that hitting bases that can defend, and people that can actually give them a run for their money gets their fleets sunk. So, they want to open up the field to smaller bases so they don't have to take a risk. This isn't Battle Pirates, it's Bully Pirates. Kixeye doesn't care at all. I know this because no on from Kixeye has responded, in any way, to the very legitimate concerns of those that don't like the new plan. So, those of you that like the new plan, have fun hitting all the empty bases of those that quit. When that's done, you'll have to hit your own level, get creamed and whine about how unfair it is. Battle Pirates? More like Battle Wussies.
Cant believe after months of building my base up to level 29, you're gonna turn it into a farm for all over and above me.. can I have my money back please?
You do realise this is just a game don't you?
Do you really care what level I am, where I've been and what I've won? didn't think so...
whats the big deal. people are saying about level 29's. i'm level 29. i get hit by lots of people many levels higher. it looks like there isnt really much difference between level 34 and higher anyways. so it wont make a lick of difference. i didnt grow up under a bubble. i didnt beg for salvs. i got my own and gained extra exp for it. i been taking level 33 salvs since i was lev 22. i thought it might be useful to learn how to use fleets. that means i wont be as advanced as the other lev 29's who hide under bubbles or beg for salvs. but i dont really care. i will continue to learn from the lev 33/34 ppl who cant hit above 29.

You crazy crazy woman, For the higher level players 34-38 the issue was literally the amount of targets...As I am at 36 I would not have been able to be hit by a 35 on the first proposed structure...Look at the legends board, literally all that is there is 35 and 36 players...So 100 players divided over 500 sectors? How is that fair to us? And before you call me a wuss please keep in mind I hit anything in range, even if it means I fail...You are probably one of those that wouldnt swing up if your base depended on the game...So take this advice..DO not call out the higher levels if you do not understand our pain.....

Under this system, will anyone else ever get past level 40? Once their base is continuously decimated by those 10, 20 or 30 levels above them, what is going to keep them interested in the game?
More speed = more combat = more repairs = more coins spent.
with teleport bases in sectors . So if i wanna travel 2 sectors up , i go to the teleport machine and puffff, come out the other teleport base in the other sector , and travel from there .
