I have spent 10 out of the last 13 days in a Bubble coz some level 33s came in they left 2 days ago i am level 29 have been playing almost 3 months have no Drac ships or DU4 or upgraded base guns etc will be at least a month with upgrade and research times and now anyone can hit me and i cant hit below me at all not much to look forward too.
The higher players have been here longer so been able to win ships etc us new comers just have to take being shafted or quit.
Shafted are you kidding. what took you 3 months used to take 6 to 9 months. I have been playing for over a year and half and am a level 33 non coiner and you get no sympathy here if you are a 29 and do not have a decent base or du4 by now. WHile no system is fair and balanced i think that kixeye is trying so at what point is it ok for you to start being a pirate instead of a whiner.
Another cool thing would be if you could go in any direction and wide up crossing in to another sector. Line the sectors up so they form a large square grid or line them up say sector 1 - 100, 101 - 200, 201 - 300, 301 - 400 and 401 - 500. So if I leave sector 120 for instance and head south I would cross in to sector 121, if I went north I would go to sector 119, If I went east I would cross over in to sector 220, and if I west west I would cross over in to sector 420. It could also work in the southeast, southwest, north east and northwest directions. This would open up more targets.

I'm a level 29 and as soon as this happens evey level above will be able to attack me. So be it, bring it on.
I'll be the new breed of pirate that will face challenges that would have made you old timers quit. I'll be one of the first pirates to have to battle players 6 and more levels above me.
I'll be the first pirate at level 29 that will have to defend my base against 35s+ driving blitzing Strike Cruisers or Dreads with magic ships in tow sporting SFB3, HB3, and auroras with mind numbing moduels.

At your level you will be able to hit everything above a level 40 [current lvl 29].
After level 40, [currently level 29], its a free for all.

Go with new levels & +/- 10 and:
1. You solve the level rate
2. You reduce the inequality
3. You don't change the current system much at all (we are accustomed to attack ranges)
4. You will have made a fix that will not need "revisiting" IMMEDIATELY
Ok so everyone that is crying about how it's not fair that the big guys can hit lvl 29s. At some point you need to take off the training wheels and start playing battle pirates and not farmville. I have always built fleets first and base second. So my base has always been behind. You dont hear me cryin and I got hit a ton coming up, Mostly cause I nuked the docks of every high lvl in the next sector lol but that is besides the point. It taught me how to survive and collect rez and build while being hit 4-7 times a week. So suck it up you panzies lol. thank-you have a nice day

EVERY TIME I SEE A PLAYER COMPLAINING IN THE FORUM ABOUT BEING 20 LEVELS LOWER AND BEING ATTACKED I DESTROY 20 LEVEL 50 BASES
I still think an easier option would be 2 levels below and unlimited above, the smaller bases will be better protected from bullies and they can have a go at the big boys (and gals)

I think this is a good change, as compared to the first posting that had high lvls being extremely limited in the lvl range they could hit. This idea follows similar ideas from other online games, once you reach a certain lvl you are consider large enough or experienced enough to be in the player verses player arena full time against the strongest enemies. There are many games out there that have no lvl limits at all.
personally speaking i don't hit below 29 usually, unless a lower level hits one of my fellow sector inhabitants or friends in sector and i need to teach them diplomacy by taking their precious resources from them, i like the new system and all the stuff with it but the complaints from 25+'s about being able to be hit by 30+'s because of the +/- 5 are foolish and whilst i agree all feedback should be taken into consideration these opinions are not very well thought out, they seem to forget that the 30+'s were all 25 once and got through the constant hitting from vastly superior opponents to become the hitters. This is how bases and fleets evolve, by studying your bigger and better enemies and learning from them, how will lower levels learn properly without experiencing how their fleets are and are not good enough. i designed my floating fortresses around a level 30's who hit me within a day of me reaching level 25 and it did help me. The new level and attacking systems will likely work i just thought i'd get my opinion out there on the +/- part.

One things that slightly worries me with the new level structure is that it will limit the number of base hitting fleets i can use.
I currently have
one base fleet that is totally up to date and can get into bases my level or poorly designed bases slightly higher
A 2nd base fleet that is slightly behind the curve without the best armour and only lvl 2 specials which i use to hit bases one or two levels lower than me.
and my 3rd old base fleet that I use to hit bases 3 to 5 levels below me.
Now the 2nd and 3rd base fleets would not get into bases around my level or higher, so once i get into this range then I can only use one base fleet and I either have to junk these fleets or refit them totally. This will take a long period of time and limit the amount of base hitting I can do. The less base hitting I can do means I won't play as long and might mean I get distracted by another game or hobby.
If I have fleets I really want to be able to use all of them in someway and not only 1 or 2.
I like to see the current level numbers used if possible.
It is good to have the + 2 sectors, but most will not use it, many do not like to travel due to fleet speeds and most will not waist a special slot to add slip stream. This is one of the reasons why some hit in sector.
As for the people who fear higher levels picking on lower levels, that should not be an issue. I know level 26/27 bases make it real hard for level 30/31. I would like to see the DU4 walls go back to the original armor points to defend against cannon blitz hits. Not sure why it was lowered but it was lowered for some reason.
Sorry, without reading 69 pages of reply, I will say this...Way better than the original level system, I still don't like the range modification but I believe there is a need for the level modification.

So I have a suggestion for all levels. Allow fleets the ability to loot 500% at equal level. And start scalling down for those who want to attack -5s. Something like:
100% for -5 level attacks.
200% for -4 level attacks.
300% for -3 level attacks.
400% for -2 level attacks.
and the full 500% loots for levels -1 for opponents of equal (or greater) level.
So this will keep those (current level structure) 32s from hitting 27s.
And if this is universal, it'll help all the lower levels as well while leveling up from getting hit on by +5s. The ability to attack is still there so there won't be any changes there. It would just make it less profitable for these players from bottom feeding -5s.

Right now I am frustrated by the amount of time so many things take. i know that good things come to those who wait, but some of the times are ridiculous, like 18 days for new lab items. Come on be serious. I know that they will be worthwhile, but why such a long wait on so many things.??????

can you guys also increase the number of bookmarks we can have? increasing it to +/- 2 sectors means more targets and more bookmarks...the 40 max ain't really cutting it.
This level system seems much better than the original post where i will be lvl 55 and could only attack 50-59 which would have been the old lvl 33 34 35. Now i will have options to attack any new lvl 40 and up which is 29 - any above on old scale. The 2 sector up/down is a great idea, Only downfall is well my 100 mph interdictors can get there and take out a base guard hiding under the base, but a fleet of siege mort HH's wont be there for 2 hours. Maybe there is a way when coords are bookmarked to send an attack fleet to in a diff. sector they can start the fleet sailing at that sectors border, or some min distance that still gives the base to be attacked a chance to see them coming.P.S. Hows my drydock coming. Still got ships waiting to refit... :P

EXACTLY! So why do you want to punish the ones leveling up? It's in kixeye's better interest to keep them in game then giving up. As they start hitting the 30s with the weeks of queues, they would be the best potential customers. Is it not better to let the 20s progress and continue to level up so they'll have a larger pool of potential customers? Long term players are always the most likely to want to spend.
So fine, if they aren't based on loot, then by your logic, having ZERO loot is alright? Fail thought huh? Tell me how these FvF with zero benefits are working out for everyone?
But it's fine, some people just want to be able to beat up on the weakest targets they're allowed. My suggestion won't change their ability to do just that.

We have all asked for the glitch's to be fix. White screens, Black box's popping up while in game play, nothing but blue water when you come out of your base or salvaging ect. shockwave crash's. flash crash's. Lag on the servers is at levels that players can't even play the game, We have all asked about a 2nd shipyard because you guys have given us more hulls then we can build in a year. The refit times are out of this world. upgrading buildings taking half a month is over the top. When someone puts a ticket in about the game. Stop saying it is the players computer. You guys have pushed the flash player to it's limits on what it can support and need to find a way to get it fixed. We arn't asking for the world from you guys, But we are asking for you to really listen to what the players are saying. The whole salvage number changing didn't need to happen. level 1 through 10 had worked all this time. So why change something that wasn't broke, Now you want to change our player levels, As before lvl1 being a new player to lvl40 if there are any is not a broken problem in the game. What is broken and has not been fixed has been stated above. Going longer distance to hit players is a great idea. But having to wait 40+ min's to get there is the issue. This again will add another problem to the game because your not fixing what is already broke first. Your just putting it off. We don't need numbers changed on bases or salvages. we need and want the glitchs in the game fixed. Now what will happen in the end. This post will be ignored and removed because you don't want to listen to the players that have invested so much time in your game. Will the problems in the game be fixed. No that will be ignored and the blame will be pushed off on the players computer. In the end the game will die off because you didn't want to listen to the concerns of the real players telling you about the problems in your game. So my words will be ignored as alot of others have been in the past. Do this Kixeye, Stop fixing what isn't broke and fix the real problems that everyone is telling you about. The wait time only get worse as you go on. It is taking 7 days each just to refit my battleships with Assault Missiles so it will be over a month for a whole fleet. I am not sure how much longer I can convince myself that it will all be worthwhile someday.

Because they want you to use gold, they want your money. Unfortunately many quit playing when they reach that level.
Pretty much everyone is complaining about this but kixeye simply refuses to shorten the times and always use excuses for not giving us a second dock.
Allowing for shorter times is VERY simple to code. But they just don't care.
