    Easy way around that is to have a timer on the base if it's been hit with in the last say 30 mins to 1 hour then their is an x amount of time before it can be changed to a new design using the program unless a bubble was created then it would not really matter then it could not be used to get out of an attack.

    I think being able to build on multiple floors to elevate defensive platforms (hopefully increasing range) or making walls a more viable defensive measure by being able to "bunker" around resources and buildings to better survive mortar and rocket attacks would be a good addition to a base building set up.

    There's this nifty little thing called "reinforce" that got added to buildings (other than defense platforms) a long while ago…

    My only complaint is a suggestion as well. When upgrading any of the labs, you can still look into the lab while upgrading except the intel Lab. Is there a chance that a fix can be made as to look at blue prints while the lab is upgrading? All of the others have that feature. Thank you and i do enjoy playing the game.     After your prep you have 7 more attacks, up to 9 other fleets you can attack with. If your baser is not set to attack quickly enough to deny a repair or redesign attempt it is your fault. Wanting the defender locked in (hard coded) while you may exit and go back with any number of other options is a bit unbalanced don't ya think? You can adapt, they should be able to adapt. you earned all you fleet options, they earned everything currently standing in their base. It will not kill base hitting, you will just have to commit more thoroughly to attack with baser right after exit with any scout or prep fleet.

    Your base flt repairs in 4 hours. So you have BB's ?

    In my opinion, it is better late them never. I would say or suggest , an extra land tiles would help to create better base layout what in my opinion its crucial after all changes, It is notorious that the game is evolving and so should other aspects. I salute you for the effort, in particular about this one.

    Actually this is easily avoided. Set a time limit on base design switches, say 24 hours after a base refit that uses a finished and saved base design. That way, a player can only switch between 2 or more base design once, maybe just after being hit but no more thereafter for 24 hours... or longer.
    If a player would want to make small rearrangement, say moving a turret or a building in the "old" way, he can still do so.
    And Kixeye is always fixing issues on the back end, taking staff off of new features won't get it done any faster (9 women can't make a baby in 1 month), and stagnation can easily kill a game.

    I think the timer as mentioned a couple times is the best option.

    I am saying if the baser is setting outside said base that you are attacking to ensure attacking fast enough once you prep flt is done the persons friends can kill your baser. if it is still on the way there then the person has the ability to change it before your baser gets there and you enter battle entrance is on other side so you waste the minute getting around or you back out only to find out that your flt gets attacked by sector buddies. I am not trying to tip the scale towards defense that is all.

    if i am watching when your prep fleet hits , what makes you think i wont change base design (two seconds to move a land section )and repair what i can when your prep fleet leaves

    has a request to make base orientation a square instead of a diamond been made yet? i mean it makes no sense for the base limitations to be orientated differently then every other aspect of the the base

    Aside from the issues already addressed above (building/tile placement & walls), what do you find is currently the most cumbersome aspect of base design?
    you can't move buildings that are upgrading and repairing

    Realistically, how many different, saved base layouts would you actually use?
    3 templates but you can add more by coining

    we should have a ''base tester'' option, no it's not like the monster baiter from BYM cause you don't send out clone ships, you merely place a hologram ship in the water to check if your buildings are within range of a certain ship. it's like this... you select a hologram ship from the base planner then you can put that hologram ship into the water to test it's range. the ship's weapon and hull can be customized of course, or you can just design a small block that has an adjustable range


    I have been reading this post for a while now and I notice alot of people asking for a range tester, just a neat little trick I learned is use your base gaurds. place a ship on defend put it on the map wherever you want to test and you will see that can hit it by selecting the turret then the ship, they show both ranges at same time. then select move turret to see where they all range.

    ok kixeye for the base planner i see you state that your base will auto adapt the design you planned by clicking a button. awesome idea.

    number of designs: should be unlimited as it is now i can only think of 5 or 6 good ones so if people flood the design list with hundreds of variations of the same one who is gonna care makes it that much more time they spend on your site.

    For the number of designs portion, I think it should be a limit of around 3 and maximum 5. The issue is that I can redesign my whole base's entrance, turret layout and walls with in 10 minutes since I'm so used to change layouts each time my base gets leveled (trust me, my base is still not the brightest bunch, but it's getting there). Trying new layouts is something I'd like to do, but getting "WTF" moments for sudden base change after a prep is not something nice.
    Also, I do agree the square edge Diamond base thing does not make sense: it's a waste of screen graphics. I think the main view should be like diamond base and diamond boundary or square base with square boundary to be able to provide as much content as possible on one single glance at ones base.
    Another feature for base planner: label wall level and Instant wall upgrade for the whole row of walls (res spent will be the upgrade price for one wall multiply by how many pieces there are)

    i have a glitch that freezes up when i try to move pieces on the base, after 5or 6 moves the pieces won't drop and i have to refresh so i hope that this will work

    I am not sure what you are doing wrong, I can and always have been able to move ANY building with the shift and click, maybe you are trying this in fullscreen, you MUST be in reg/small screen in order to do this! I would like to know when this is going to be implemented, we have talked for long enough, let's see some action~!

    HAVING A PLACE TO PUT BUILDINGS OFF TO THE SIDE WHILE DESIGNING. IF YOU HAVE EVER USED BATTLE PARROT BASE DOCTOR 2 BEFORE IT WENT OFFLINE, YOU COULD CHOOSE YOUR OP LEVEL, THEN THOSE BUILDINGS WERE PLACED OFF THE GRID. AFTER YOU BUILT YOUR LAND TILES, YOU COULD DRAG THEM IN WHERE YOU WANTED THEM. INCORPORATING THAT INTO A BASE PLANNER WOULD BE AWSOME. I HATE BUILDING PARTS OF MY BASE AND MOVING TILES JUST TO PUT BUILDINGS ON TEMPORARILY.

    I LIKE THE AUTO CENTER IDEA, BUT BEING ABLE TO MOVE IT ANY DIRECTION ONCE COMPLETED WOULD BE MUCH BETTER. ONE STRATEGY IS TO MAKE THEM BURN TIME GETTING TO A PART OF YOUR BASE WHEN THEY ENTER IT, ANOTHER IS TO HAVE THEM RIGHT ON SOME BACK TILES AND GET STUCK. SO AN OPTION TO MOVE IT WOULD BE GREAT.

    I THINK AN OPTION TO ENTER YOUR TURRETS TYPES/LEVELS SO YOU CAN SEE THEIR RANGE WOULD BE GREAT, NOT JUST YOUR CURRENT TURRETS. THIS WILL ALLOW PEOPLE TO TEST DESIGNS THEY PLAN TO MAKE IN THE FUTURE WHEN THEY UPGRADE TURRETS. IT WOULD ALSO ALLOW BASE DESIGNERS TO HELP OTHERS IN OUR DOWN TIME BETWEEN WEEK LONG BUILDS/UPGRADES INSTEAD OF JUST CHATTING ON COMMS OR NOT PLAYING AT ALL.
    I ALSO THINK OTHERS IDEAS ABOUT AN A.I. TEST FLEET WOULD BE COOL, BUT UNDERSTAND A "FRIEND" CAN ALWAYS DO THAT FOR YOU. I ALSO THINK IT WOULD BE COOL IF THE PERIMETER WAS WIDENED UP A BIT FOR LARGER DESIGNS AND AN OP6. (MY WISH LIST COMING OUT! HAHA)
    OTHER THEN THAT, I THINK IT’S GREAT THAT YOU ARE MAKING THE PLANNING PROGRAM. I CAN’T WAIT TILL IT GOES LIVE!

    The best designer is "coming soon" which could mean a week, 2 weeks, a month, 3 months or even a year in KIXEYE games. I started playing BP when it first came out, thought it was lame and left about a year or so. At that time, about 1.5 years ago, the draconian base coming soon label was there. When I came back to this game in july and found the graphics are way better, and there are submarines in the game now; however, I soon become disappointed when my mouse clicked on the recolored draconian base: it still says coming soon. Consider that, I'm making a optimistic prediction.

    i want this program pleeeeeeeeeeeeaaasssseeee kixeye give us a rough time frame dont have to be accurate just a time scale as to how long it might possibly take to implement this i have an idea for a base that i think will test even the heaviest of coiners but dont want to re-arrange my base from scratch especially since i have used every single piece of wall

    I do not know if this has been brought up yet, but is there any way to have the bases not be at an angle to what i call the "property" lines. Currently, they look to be at at 45 degree angle to them?

    When will this be available to the players because im very excited to see this in action for myself as a player such as myself and many others who have been playing for nearly 2 years this update will prove to be the most useful thing that you have released so far. The other thing that would be great to implement into the game is a dry dock something that has been requested since the time ive started playing. seems you guys are finally getting your sh*t together and releasing something useful for a change.

    i've noticed this same new idea having an older date and im wondering when is kixeye or its web designers ( not meaning to step on any toes) are going to put this to use.
