WC update preview - Advanced Platoons and Persistent Infantry

Attention Commanders,

Advanced Platoons are here and this is our largest update since the World Map!

You can watch the video that illustrates the overview and/or read about the features in more detail.

The four main changes:
  1. You can repair platoons in deposits without having to return them to your base.
  2. Platoon squads are now optional. By default there is a single squad that can hold all of your units but you can create up to four
  3. You can name your Platoon whatever you like. Only you see your platoon names (other players see your base name), so go to town.
  4. When a Platoon returns to base, its grouping is not lost. You don't have to go through the process of creating it again. This is the same for when a platoon is left guarding a deposit
The process for making a platoon has moved from the map to inside your base. You can create as many platoons as you like and get them all setup before deploying them on the world map. Once a platoon is made you can use it over and over again and only have to edit it when you want to change the units it holds. You can launch a platoon from inside your base or from the world map.

In addition to the platoon changes we've tweaked a few other things:
  1. Infantry units now persist! If they are killed in battle they can be repaired from 100% damage (just like vehicles). The cost of repairing a fully damaged infantry unit is less than it did cost to make it, and yes, we will be doing this for Aircraft soon!
  2. Your airfield now has a little more space at higher levels and its capacity is linked to its level; +100 at max level.
  3. The deployment cap has increased, you can now have slightly more units in battle at any one time; +200 at max level.
  4. Platoons hold slightly less units, however the cap is on the entire platoon, not a single squad, so you can use the space more efficiently; -540 at max level.
  5. The deployment cap is now linked to your storage building level, not your Command Center level.
  6. Platoons move quicker on the map than ever before! Units have a +10% to +35% move speed increase when in platoons. The attack dog and rocket buggy are still the fastest units.
  7. You can leave more units guarding a deposit.

We’ve also cleaned up the UI and a few processes; little things like making it possible for you to select all the units you want to scrap and then pressing “Scrap” instead of having to confirm every single one.

You will see that you can only repair a single platoon at a time and can not queue up all units in your base/storage to repair. We made this decision to simplify the UI. As you can now repair platoons on deposits it should even out in terms of time spent, for most it will be a time-saver compared to the old system.

    I think the infantry should have a killed how many time limit. Like if you have a heavy gunner and he dies he should have 2 more lifes (etc) that what i think. but the air it should have already been like vehicles. But if anyone know me i am very much a **** :) Hope someone goes more into detail

    Yer, but then you have to keep track of how many times each unit has died and it becomes a UI nightmare and "Hey KIXEYE support, i'm sure my rifleman died only once but he's gone now"

    Plus if you have a platoon with only infantry (or even a squad with only infantry) and they die you lose the platoon so you have to make it all over again, which is a pain.
    PLUS the cost of repairing these guys is going to be less than it would take to replace them, so keep quiet ;)

    Does this mean 8 megatanks in a platoon is no longer possible?

    Awesome - Can't wait!! No aircraft repairs boooo lol - oh well, there is always the next update to look forward too I guess. Gotta keep us wanting :)

    "You will see that you can only repair a single platoon at a time and can not queue up all units in your base/storage to repair." ughhh this is what I hated about battle pirates. so now instead of going to bed knowing that a good chunk of my units will be repaired when I wake up, I now will have to wake up in increments at night in order to check up on current repairs and begin new repairs >:(

    Each MT takes up 250 space, so the new space of 1,500 will hold 6 mega tanks, but you can deploy them all at once so there is no change there. The deployment cap is up by 200.

    Thanks, I think you will find the main improvement is just how easy it is to play now Platoons are remembered and can be repaired on Deposits.

    All infantry should not be able to be repaired. Why? When they die, they die, Cant bring them back. In my opinion only the hercules should be able to be repaired. They are less human than they are machine...

    Think of it as replacing them, the platoon remembers what units you had so you don't have to remember which ones to make and then remake the platoon, saves you a bunch of time.

    are the upgrades for buildings staying the same? i think that for a new bee it should be a more gradual step :) that's just my opinion

    would like to see it made to where we can put in coordinates and send our troops there. would really streamline the moving process.
    any thots on reducing upgrade times at all? some of them get quite lengthy, even with upgrades war factory, airport and barracs. just a thot. kick **** game guys!

    We've made no changes to the upgrade cost or time on buildings with this update. Having an upgraded staging area has become more important.

    I'm working on a way to make it easier. No plans to change the upgrade times.

    Sounds good, such a pain placing platoons 24/7 can't wait till repairing aircraft though, that's such a pain!

    Great i like it , but what i need of platoons to decreasing the time of moving coz some time moved from side to anther side about 1 hour ,it's too much of moving and didn't play well when we moving all this time , so plz solve this problem

    For real, I wish we could move an infinite amount of spaces. It would make things a lot easier than having to use way points. :o

    So if RUBI is replacing the missing unit from your platoon, and they come back fully replaced with max health in your platoon, is there a replacement timer that scales in length per unit. Or are they repairing and you are just telling us to think of it as being replaced.

    I realy hope we dont have to keep a constant check on repairs ... a lot of us work and we will get home to only half or less of our troops ready ... this would be very bad :( the system you have is good .... you can battle hard and just wait for them to get home and start repairs .. knowing when you get home or wake up you are good to go ..... if we are loosing logged on play time to reparing units will be dissapointing .............. love this game ... keep up the good work :)

    this really made this game make no since for me i thought even tanks wont be repairing but i shocked when i saw even infantry can be repair
    why not infinity life lol or for next update
    nd increase the capacity of platoons nd air filed what left auto guide where to attack nd where hiding unit

    The upgrades seem like good progress overall. But not being able to que up all repairs Is a real bummer for those of us that cant sit on the couch all day playing the game. i come on 2 times a day or so. so if i need to repair 4 platoons it will be 2 days before i can be ready to play again. This promotes the use of scrips! I choose to play this game because i can compete without running scrips. I would much rather take a few minutes to create new platoons than have to check in every 2 hours just to repair another platoon. Im very concerned about issue. Thanks, FS-Trip

    Looks Good the updates... Now all we need is unit formation for the platoons (similar to the World in conflict game) so that one bullet doesn't damage 10 tanks in one hit. Don't mine the massacrer with the foot soldiers, but with the tank seems unrealistic.

    I love playing online games, i'v been gamme master in Hattrick online soccer fore a long time, i hate cheaters and people who destroy the game by using bad language and cheeting etc etc.

    I am wondering if you are looking fore gamm masters in War commander or how i can become one.

    Sure it is nice that games keep beeing evelloped but people do cheat more and more multiple accounts haccking etc etc lets get it fair again
