Predator Submarine Armor Adjustment

    The Predator Submarines currently have a base armor value of 80. This means that if Predators are not equipped with any additional armor and have small flagship, they can instant repair. After several months of seeing how the Predator is being used in combat, we feel that they should not be able to instant repair.

    We will be buffing the base armor value of Predator Submarines to ensure that no fleet combination of “4 Predators + a small flagship” will allow for an instant repair time.



    Guys remember this is kixeye they will prob have 2000 base hp now :)

    insta subs GREAT part of the game! helps lower lvl's to open there own salvs! thus learning how to battle & getting there own res!

    Right, subs are good to delay stronger enemies, or bad configured ships (slow ship with short ranged weapons). They never were a threat to people using HB3 or not solid fuel booster rocket 2 or higher. And they are an affordable way to let weaker players open salvs.

    And it is important they are instant repair, because with them, the first mistake is the last one, and sometimes mortar shells spread cause them to get hit, even if the player didn't make a mistake.

    this is pathetic! i use subs for everything i do because i enjoy the game with them and i have learned to use them. stop just changing things when the big CC players get upset.

    i think this is a great idea as long the repair times aint silly like 1hour for 1 sub besides if people use subs properly they wont need to repair them but i also agree i still think kixeye you should sort out the repair glitch first because now people may try and use it on the subs but all in all good idea

    well I dont see it as instant repair you still have to remove subs and hit the speed up function to repair them.. Why notr just get rid of them. The stalker subs are total garbage and the only benefit of the preds is that they repair quick so if they are going to take forever to repair it makes more sense to use regualr fleet..lol The armor should be adjusted to prevent alot of damage at one time ..With stalkers the armor does little to protect and it can be a 2 and half hour repair and they are killed so easy.. Personally I like the subs but wont be using them if the repair time is ridiculously long

    hmm not bad, they will still be over-used on cargo fleets though so i still want level 8/9 cargo fleets to have sonar/torpedoes :)

    i feel its about time low levels not get to attack with the annoying subs and then repair and bring them right back out. if they were only be able to used for salvaging then it would be ok to keep the same

    We use subs in my sector against cc players and hackers. They "instant repair" with a cc or a hack. Why would i send my ****4 sw or du4 FF fleets out against high rolling cc-ers/hackers when I'll have hours of repair and they'll whip out a hack or daddy's credit card. You heard about the hack where you can't get into the battle? All you get is the white screen? Yes, it's hard to tell sometimes cuz of all the glitches.....

    What do you have against subs instant repairing anyway? Don't you have hackers to ban?

    Obviously Kixeye has never thought of the non cc user AGAIN if you are taking away the quick repair subs then for us little players that have to work hard to get salvage to upgrade, reserch ect ect then you have now made things worse for us.
    I think you should think about How high a player can attack us eg its set at level 5 above and below, this should be looked into I think as well.
    It is okay for those who have played the game from the beginning and are level 30 and above. Who have bigger fleets and can salvage alot quicker those subs are my only way to salvage as a smaller player.
    I can see Kixeye losing alot of non cc players as the game for us is not worth the hassle.
    I see alot of post from players that say thank god but can bet you also used them b4 you got bigger

    Are you **** high? I was once a low level player, I once got steam rolled every other day. Oh then I got smart and got bubbled when I NEEDED it. Learned to build a base, learned if you hide resources well, people will let you alone. It's pathetic seeing level 27+ people running in subs bubbling each other constantly. And you're seriously crying about salvages?!?! If you can somehow manage to be hit by the dracs then you should probably quit. My god if you somehow manage to get sunk it'll take you maybe 5 minutes to get back out there. What would you have done if you played when I did? Why should a level 7 fleet be able to sink or even do 25% damage to a level 38 fleet and be instantly repaired AND cheap? The **** subs should cost almost as much as wolves then maybe the sub spammers would be a bit more careful with them.

    Even with level 3 defense you can do 50% damage to a good a FF fleet. Unless you're a **** and sit with double/triple stacked WHs constantly, that should stop most people from attacking. Get a good setup with the right weapons, it's not hard. My god all you new players do is whine. You would've loved only seeing level 5 and 6 salvages, and only ONE spawned per base. And they didn't respawn very fast. You probably have no clue what it's like crashing your worthless BB fleet into a level 10 mine over and over again just so you can mine for resources.

    After having a quick skim of the comments i think that most people are either loving or hating this.....

    I know from personal experience that i got really bored of subs and learnt to build a levi fleet that would take down all salvage up to level 9 faster than you can with subs - for zero damage, you might be able to do it with BB's if you get the setup right with sfb now! - so to me the argument that you can't get salvage is null and void. (that and you can get lvl 9 with subs for no damage anyways!)

    Stopping subs being spamable wont stop them taking out a FF base hitting fleet - but it will certainly reduce the harrasment tactics that they are currently used for - which i think is a good thing. short of limiting the firepower of the pred this was the only sensible option to cut down the 'abuse' of the insta repair no armour option

    realistically the chances of a sub fleet taking down a lvl 38 fleet are really small. But the real issue is an instant repair fleet can inflict 2 hours pluss of repairs on that fleet. There should never be a case where something can inflict that amount of damage but be instant repair when fully destroyed.

    The complaining about how it will make salvaging harder is total rubbish, the repair times will be lengthened not the weaponry changed or the speed, so what was a damge free salvage fleet before remains exactly the same.

    Low levels seem to think its their right to be able to hit all salvs upto lvl 9, they should wonder how people managed before subs we struggled to kill lvl 6's and always took damage.

    So this change is good and long over due, it will not impact the skilled sub user on salvs at all, but will impact the player that thinks its fun to spam attack bigger fleets for no repair time. I think 15 mins per sub should be suitable, think of it you get more armour on your sub so you do gain from that change.

    Give subs something back if u take instance fix away. Little more speed and little more range on Hav's

    I dont use a CC and I love the idea. When I was your level there were no such things as level 8 salvages. I had to hit 4's and 5's and grind it out in order to upgrade. I got hit all the time but here I am at lvl 31. Only collect res you can use right away, dont give larger players a reason to hit you. Keep at it you you will level up just fine.

    Thank you so much for your nice quote ,I do ,do what you are saying and yes its a long haul and hopefully will get to your level one day . I have met some nice players who have given me that advice and I only collect what I can use, I wish I could use a cc too lol but unfortunately for me I cannot afford too.

    You seem pretty reasonable Heather. I don't understand the problem tho. They aren't taking subs away, you can still use them to open salvages for yourself, and surely the added armor will only remove the ability to instantly repair and only add a few minutes repair time. In terms of salvaging this would mean virtually zero difference. The difference comes in player vs player battles where subs were routinely abused to do damage dissproportionate to their cost (which will ALSO remain the same) and then mean nothing if sunk because they could be instantly repaired and relaunched.

    I have personally had it happen when trying to hit a base where all the person needs is 2 sub fleets, 1 to keep you engaged while he instantly repairs the second one. He can then suicide run his subs in, and even if he only hits with 1 or 2 torpedoes, he essentially wins.

    The flaw in this logic is that when we were lower level like this, not only were there not level 8 salvages, there also were not all the tier 2 and 3 drac blueprint weapons that make the researchable forsaken weapons underpowered. The game has dramatically changed since then, so comparisons between what would have been balanced then and what would be balanced now are difficult to make.

    Kixeye, be careful you don't go changing things so it's impossible to put together a fleet that repairs quickly without spending money. Not everyone comes on these forums to hear themselves talk as much as some of us, but there is definitely a lot of sentiment that if people can't play for more than 20 minutes without spending cash, then you will have really destroyed a lot of what is fun about the game. There is already enough monotonous grinding involved in the game for blueprints, etc. without making it worse. The repair times and resource costs have already, many months ago, done away with the large fleet battles we used to have.

    What they NEED to do is improve the Stalker make it faster, make it turn quicker, make it stay down longer because at the moment it's pretty useless 90% of the time

    This is not about balancing the game or making anything "fair". KIXEYE is doing this to get people to spend money on instant repair. EVERY update or nerf is totally $$$$ driven.

    Any cry babies complaining about subs have no clue how to play this game. Subs are so easy to sink, just rush them and get inside their minimum range and they are dead the first time they surface. DUH!

    I havent used subs in ages but they DO help a smaller player participate in sector defense, subs are not the problem here.... KIXEYES GREED is the problem because their appetite is insatiable!

    Sinking subs isnt the problem. Keeping them sunk is. You have never understood this and never will, and thats fine, whatever. What is being done is being done to tweak the cost vs utility for the subs. It does not ruin them (in fact, it is a buff) it just removes a mechanism for abuse. I don't understand what your problem is with removing something that has been deemed (by the very people that develop and provide the game) a source of abuse? Who are you to say it isn't? When it was just us players yelling at each other about it across multiple threads it was just opinion vs opinion, NOW it's a matter of fact.

    Also, what is all this crying about greed? are you people serious? You DO know that the minimum coinable speedup is 30 mins right? and the maximum they will probably add to repair subs might take them what? 5-6 minutes to repair? is that SO HARD to wait for? NO. the problem you have isn't with waiting for 5 minutes where before it was instant, your problem is that your crutch is being taken away and now there are level 30+ bases out there that might have to build some real FvF. Boo **** hoo.
