Losing buddy bubbles means a loss of teamwork, and a reduction of family gaming. Facebook is a "social" network, and should not be catering to "antisocial" behaviour.

    I think this is great...

I feel for the lvl 24-27 guy, that's usually who you see bubbling up. Do you blame them though? A lvl 29+ guy has siege weapons most likely, and as you know siege weapons will walk through a base with lvl 3 platforms, I don't care what your layout is.

The abusers, lvl 28 and up guys buddy bubbling should be ashamed. :)

I think when they implement this, they should adjust the +- 5 level to 3. 30'**** 27-33's, etc. Otherwise, you'll see a load of lvl 24-27 guys quit. and that's not good for anyone.

Oh, and hats off to the marketing department at kixeye. Yeah, this is spun as an improvement to the game, but what really drives this change is $$.
    Empire, lvl 65 Home sector 380, visited 381, 70, 492, 69, 53, 458, 129, 14, 320, 55, 293, 8, 55, 13, 49, 335, 56, 193, 126, 429, 481, 54

Complete none sense to remove the bubble system this way... You just open the door for more cyber bulling and in the end will cost you more players.

That's good management right there!!! lol...

Will be glad when the buddy bubbling is gone lol..

If you are that scared at level 30 that your base sucks then you should just go play farmville.

No, it means that now people will have to actually put some thought into base defense rather than having ****, jane or spot come along, hit them 10 times and give them 48 hours of protection.

I've seen so many people that relied almost SOLELY on the buddy bubble for protection that they negelected a proper base defense.

There is NO excuse for a player being 28+ and having level 1 plats and a square base.

All these new changes are doing is enabling the large base people who like to be bullies and throw their weight around, to do it easier. After crying like little babies about bubbles they finally got their way. They can now get together with their other big base buddies and gang up on the little guys. I got hit hard the other day and no sooner than my bubble pops, I get hit again. It will also make it where the big players can constantly hit the smaller ones thereby taking all their res and making it impossible for those smaller players to be able to advance. I'm done with this game and will no longer put any money in KIXEYEs coffers. I hope thousands of others do the same.

I can see a downside to this.

One of the major retaliation tactics to a player hitting in sector is to have multiple people jump into his base and rocket a specific list of buildings. This enables the sector to:
    1. Never let him play (His dock)
    2. Raise the upgrade time for his building (Upgrade)
    3. Delay his research (Research) indefinitely.
    4. Keep him in sector to continue the griefing (His OP)

The only problem to this tactic was the 10x hit rule, where he'd get a 2 day bubble after the 10'th person jumped in. If that is gone, we would be able to grief someone all day, every day, till that player quit.

Maybe have the rule keep track of the total amount of damage received in a 24 hour period? And then bubble them depending on the total amount of damage incurred?
We are working on many things at once. Alliances, Drac bases (really!), Messaging, Fleet Interception. Are all actively being worked on. Just because we release other, smaller, features does not mean we are not progressing with the larger ones.

LOL the whinning has begun and the changes havent even been made... People that constantly use the bubble do so because they dont know how to play they hit bases and have a friend standing by to bubble them so there is no chance of immediate retalliation.. This is going to stop alot of people who attack run and hide because they really cant play any other way from hitting bases without having to face possible retaliation.. So why play the game if you are so scared your dock is going to get hit or research, maybe when you have important upgrades going on it would be wise to not hit bases..lol This is going to be good I have a list of 7 buddie bubblers who i fully intend to pay back once the new system is in place, i bet it is some of them crying here now because they know what is coming happy pirating arrrrgggg...lol

The whining and complaining has already begun! The bubble buddies have already started saying its not fair. They refuse to get their bases better and just complain about the changes for the better.

I don't think they should change the 5 level attack rule much, maybe adjust the timer accordingly. For example, u get 5 min for an attack on your equal level. For each level down you lose 30 seconds, so 5 levels down you'd have to hit in 2:30. Also, for each level up you should get 30 extra seconds. That would protect the lower levels, it takes a lvl 33 4 mins minimum to flatten me.

I havent read all the posts so excuse if this is a repeat
    Nice on the new feature
BUT i would make some sort of adjsutment regarding damage to the dock - maybe some coding that if the dock gets reocketed/hit too many times in a given period you get a bubble ?

YES this is what pisses people off and should be discontinued - but not by killing the 4 and 10 attack rule.

Players that attack other players fleets or bases should be flagged aggressors and not allowed to bubble for a period of time that is determined by the damage they did to they other player. -- but that would not make money for KIXEYE.. instant repair generates income and that is what the game is about.

I would bet 95% of the real "Bubble pirate" players have never spent a dime on this game.
And 50% or more of them have never attacked another player.

I would like to see that bubbles come down if you attack a players fleet as well as bases. Too many people get bubbles and hit miners and guards with no chance of afk players to get them back when they log in.There are a number of players who buy bubbles as well just for this purpose as they never attack bases just fleets.

Just make the bubble permeable to any player that has been attacked by that base within the preceding 3 days. This can be limited to one "attack". Say a 10 minute window from first retaliatory strike.

And bubble should be lost for attacking another player's fleet, not just their base.

Simply put, if you attack another player's assets, you lose existing damage protection. And any player you attack has a free shot back at you within three days. Those two things would stop a lot of the current whining.

In honesty I think the bubble plays an important role in protecting the weaker players until such a time they are strong enough,
I have often seen lvl30 players constantly attack lvl25 and lvl26 effectively turning them into farms we must agree that there is a big difference between these lvls of players. Still allow the friendly bubble but have a cool down time on a friendly bubble. say 2days and Increase the damage required to 35%.
Don't bother with the fleet in the base unless you decide to make available all hulls to everyone. the last thing we need is to send in a FF fleet only to find the latest in drac Hulls armed to the teeth ready to destroy us before we ever fire a shot.
I would also suggest instead of hitting 5lvls down and 5lvls up reduce this to 3lvls.
I have seen players quit because they have become nothing more than farms for larger players.
A game quickly becomes old when you log in every day to find your base leveled and no real ability to fight back.
We need these players to grow so in the future we can get some proper resources from them.
It's not that I don't think kixeye are not on the same page it's just that the players are reading Sun Tzu Art of war and kixeye are reading Noddies big book of war.
We want the Dry Dock NOW! http://www.facebook.com/groups/184955281636155/ We need YOU! The game needs YOU!

I think this is a horrible idea. Bubbles were the only way to protect yourself from players of higher level.
I'm NEVER attack by someone my level or less. It's always a player who is 5 levels above me.

When you are a level 25, and some level 30 players come by to steal you're resources, it'll make the game too dang frustrating to want to play. "friendly" bubbles were a way for lower level players to defend against these higher players.

Now, if you change the rule that you can only attack someone your level or higher, then this would be work-able.

Having a defending fleet is "nice", but not a total solution. Now you have the same "anti-bubble" people complaining about the defending fleet.....quote... "I don't want my mort fleet being sniped by defending fleet". These are the people who aren't happy unless then can just take what the want from other people's bases with little or no effort.

So, if you complain about getting hit by bases 5 lvls higher, then why not hit bases 5 levels lower than you? That's the way the game works, rob and get robbed. An as to only attacking bases ur level or higher, that would suck for the lvl 32 that gets hit by a 31 and can't hit em back. Simple, you want a bubble, buy one. Or, have ur friends hit ur base with a merc to bubble it.

I guess kixeye is related to zynga.

I like damage protection and I like to collect salv.
No better fun than to be attacked by higher ranking players and not be allowed to salv.
No base design will protect lower levels. So if you want to say that you are lying to yourself.
It would have been better to eliminate the ability to rebubble if you break the one you had to attack.
    That would prevent abuse.
Now high rank players will abuse their power to prevent anyone from growing. BAD MOVE by kixeye.

    NOW WE NEED BASHING RULES.

Eliminating players who do not play would have been more benefical.

That would be correct, I haven't attacked another player first. I use bubbles, yes, that's true. But not in the way it is stated. I never hit someone and then had someone bubble me. I use the bubble to hang on to the resources I've been saving for. with something costs 15+ mill of each resource, it takes time to save. If I just turn into a "farm" for some higher rank player, that is just BS and can easily find some other "free" game to play.

I agree with keeping the 4/10 rule if you haven't attacked a base and done damage. I can understand how it can be frustrating to have your base it, and then you find the attacker is already bubbled. So it would be agree-able to me, for those players not to be able to "friendly" bubble.

But also remember, just because you see someone with a bubble, does not mean they have a friendly bubbler. There are plenty of raiding parties going on and lots of bases being bubbled by aggressors..... and very rarely have I seen the aggressor be someone of the SAME level. It's normally a higher ranker hitting a lower ranker..... fix THAT problem, and you fix your bubble problem.

Correct, but the 5 level cap it two large. I would suggest that you only be able to attack a base that is your level or higher.
