HB3/AL3>LA3 trumps it.........The anti cookie cutter build of choice (ACC)
Original cookie cutter wolf build with the addition of a mortar now trumps the anti-cookie cutter. The ACC now has to consider using engines to avoid mortars and the fleet has to stay bunched because if they separate 5 cookie cutter wolves will pick them off one at a time. It eventually leads to pure stalemate.
In contrast to all this wolf love you now have the Assault missile LA3/ENG3 fortress, 3 of which can frankly own both of the above set-ups and this is not even considering the Siege-cannon Eng3 hammerhead with a choice of LA or HB which I've just built and on first test catches and frankly kicks the arse out of anything. Five of them and I dread to think about the new whines begging for the nerf-bat. Before that even starts I'm considering viable counters to it and I can think of a few already.
The moral of this story is evolve or be left behind. In my sector at least, I have several opponents who can now not only match me but severely punish me if I don't send out the right flavour of fleets. I would hate to see Kixeye basing equilibrium on old forsaken Tech and effectively stifling the cutting-edge end of Battle-Pirates.
REALLY GUYS?????? This went from being a thread about what the best ship/weapons set up to beat a SW fleet with to who's got the bigger brain and you both sound like crybabies. Here is what i set up..Full levi fleet with 2 cutlass 3's in the rear...3 ripper 4's up front.. 2 du 4 and one du 2 armor and HB 1 and autoloader 1. Simply turn them around...park um all on top of each other and the SW go bye by. You may lose one ship each battle and damage some others but it comes down to armor and strike capabilty..When Mr cocky comes in for his HB 3 thud 4 strike all of a sudden 10 cutlass missles launch at his SW.. He can either range out and run or (like most cocky CC players) **** rush your fleet..the rippers take over and kill the SW almost immediatly. He then launches a pinch rocket cause he's a baby..moves all the rest of his ships in for the kill (forgetting that the rippers are far more powerful than his thuds..and have auto loader) and 10sec later the battle is over and his SW fleet is racing home. Now both of you shut up and someone please god close this thread!

(2) Darn tootin' his crap is a real load. I've taken a BB fleet against 6 other fleets including an FF merc. And more than half the battles were against offline folk. It ain't so easy to waste fleet after fleet when your opponent refuses to make it easy for you. I'm not some dude that knows how to click a ship around another one. I know Kite breaking tactics. I know anti-Kite breaking tactics. I know how to maximize mortar dodging and concentrated fire. Most these pathetic little Kiters know how to do is turn and run. They give Kiting a bad name. They make it look like a coward's sport. I don't just pull 180s and watch people die. I actually spend enough time click per battle that even with a brand new computer the game sometimes lags from the amount of changes it needs to update.
(3) Whoop de doo. You found a rock paper scissors with Adv Lab 10 equipment. So we've reduced fleet wars to a series of luck and guesswork. Or wait... your anti-SW idea incorporates bigger ships. So if my SWs are attacked by a Levi or FF I should assume that idiot has the counter. I'll just move my SWs and come in the the anti to his anti. Problem solved. No more rock paper scissors.

FYI, if you don't have Thud with HB3 and you unwisely park your silly toys and wait, you will not kill SWs with Thud HB3. You will be sank... quickly. Just in case you were unaware, Thud HB3 outranges Cuts by 9. I've used Thud HB1 to outrange Rapiers (by 3) and still rarely got fired at. A range of 9 is easy to Kite. Not just that, but I pulled that 3 range Kite off with 5 ships simultaneously.
Let's add some more kickass: Thuds have higher DPS than Cuts. So if you lined up FFs with Cuts on one side and I came in with Thuds on the other I could sit still and let you hit me and I'd still win. Remember, Thuds are ballistic with higher reload. Cuts are just long range, slow reload missiles.
Kind of a miracle you had the nuggets to suggest you can kill a Thud HB3 fleet with Cuts and Ripper... I think we'll be seeing a lot of people laugh at that post.
Levi with T4x2 or DU4 x 2 Thud4 x5 autoload3 hardened 3 and you can kiss every seawolf out there BYE BYE the range is the same and ur out armour em its simple folks fight fire with fire do that on a FF fleet and nearly unstoppable unless u run into a fleet set up the same way problem is getting that L10 advanced crap LOL

No one is arguing the difficulty in choice. There is no "elite" in finding the new epic weapon. I posted the build the second HB3 was released. It's another one of those easy layouts you can adopt without thinking. Problem is defeating it...
I'd love to see where he posted the new build on day 1 though. If I recall correctly it was M who first hinted at it and Rob Anderson was the first to implement it.

I'm in sector 38 and fight 4Tg...they are a real pain...real fleets..i'm a tried and tested player. Is the Quote better now?
I already know the levei build to crush a SW. The only thing is, I aint sharing. hahahahaha
5 Thud 4's with HB3 and either layered armor 3 or auto loader 3, a FF with the same build, a BB again with the same build, or a SW with HB3 AL3 AND LA3(my personal favorite, commonly used against the people in my area that have finally got near my level and started copying the HB3 fleets I've been using the last 3 months...)
Now was that so hard? Could also go into the cutlass missiles on a faster ship type and throw on specialized armor or the 2 perks that boost missile accuracy and damage(which is AMAZING in my opinion....)
anti wolf ship is easy. levi with thud's and HB3, layerd armor3 . the range is the same so when thy fire you will to and levi will be having about 26000 armor against ballistic
A Levi with Autoloader3 and HardBarrel3 with thuds can take on A seawolf with those,aslong as it has du4 armour,u dont really need Layerd Armour,since a seawolf has less armour points, but correct my statement if im wrong.. would like to know something thats better

"Micro" means micro manage. Simply put: you take manual control of your ships and guide their every move rather than letting them act alone. A skilled micro is one that sails 5 ships simultaneously with very little error and with great precision.

Well, a ballistic projectile will not have the same accuracy as it does close range.
With that said, they CAN incorporate % less accuracy by range.
The further the shot is going, the less likely it'll hit like a normal thud with their range.
Not sure what evade does, but wouldn't the thud almost always hit a ship that has negative evade?

5 Thud 4's with HB3 and either layered armor 3 or auto loader 3, a FF with the same build, a BB again with the same build, or a SW with HB3 AL3 AND LA3(my personal favorite, commonly used against the people in my area that have finally got near my level and started copying the HB3 fleets I've been using the last 3 months...)
Now was that so hard? Could also go into the cutlass missiles on a faster ship type and throw on specialized armor or the 2 perks that boost missile accuracy and damage(which is AMAZING in my opinion....)
what is a skilled 'micro'? Is there a way I can know Im being attacked when Im off the game but on fb page.
Your a real Battle Pirate when....
"Micro" means micro manage. Simply put: you take manual control of your ships and guide their every move rather than letting them act alone. A skilled micro is one that sails 5 ships simultaneously with very little error and with great precision.
Well, a ballistic projectile will not have the same accuracy as it does close range.
With that said, they CAN incorporate % less accuracy by range.
The further the shot is going, the less likely it'll hit like a normal thud with their range.
Not sure what evade does, but wouldn't the thud almost always hit a ship that has negative evade?
