However, you should count yourself lucky - in the early alpha you couldn't tell who hit you even if you WERE online, unless you saw them in the map first, of course. As far as i noticed, the npcs levels increases with the levels of the players. New mines do not appear. You do not have to explore the map again to see new stuff. Mining is way slower now, so you have an incentive to either attack salvages, which seem to be giving more resources, or other miners. I tested this approach, and attack+repair is taking more or less as long as mining for the same resource.
