What would be the best type shield for level 17's and 20 salves??

At your level and situation, rancors are great for FvF, especially holding positions, stalling and guarding your base. If you were to use them to FvF I would advise putting on Scatter Missiles or Plasma Batteries combined with Beam Laser for each one, this gives it the range necessary to outrange Frigates and the DPS necessary to deal with enemy tank-ish ships such as genesis, or exodus depending on the state of your sector. hey here is a gensis fleet i use to blitz base's with i still need to add higher weapon's special's ad armor to fleet apart from that i think the fleet work's good

I forgot how to take take those cargo. But i sugest you to take lvl 13 cargo. Ships: Harriers Weapon: 2 Railguns armor: Platsteel/tritanium Shield: Spectral use 1 ship to bait enemy ships by circling them. Keep the bait moving, so those railguns will not hit you. While the enemy firing at your bait, use the rest of your ships to kill them. If you do it right, you will only lose 1 harrier or even you won't lose any ships

im a level 23 and still use my longbows with plasma for base hits. the issue is a fleet good in 1 base will not be good for another. but plasma battery works better than rails or gauss .

The resource gatherers do influence how much resources the asteroids spawn with. I had all level 3 resource gatherers and the asteroids spawned with 1 million resorces, when i upgraded some of them, the 2 million asteroids started popping up. Then when i upgraded them all to level 4, there were only asteroids with 2 million resources.

Whatever you can build and use on there. Higher numbers works for protection! Would be nice if we had inner base guard as well. Right now just the outer guard only :(

This is about as clear as a mud puddle lol..... So if you hit a single WH that holds 666k and you have the room for it you don't take a % of it you just take the whole thing??? So in fact lots of tiny WH is better than few fatter ones??? The bridges holds res to though so my question is what gets filled up first and how is it spread between your base and the WH's?? Too bad that video was entirely wrong.... putting lasers on the outside and projectiles on the inside? Mega laughs. Long range weapons should never be placed within each other's minimum ranges, and short range weapons should not be left out by themselves for easy pickings with insufficient cover from long range guns.

Actually, you can just build your base in the middle and extend out to the asteroids from there using labs and such so that you don't have to move your base around ever.

Why would you put armor on an Exo? That is silly. Put weapons. Shields are infinitely more useful than armor.

Exo's with 3 lvl 1 Mass Drivers, Strafe 4 Thrusters, what ever type of armor and shielding you want, and your good to go for AM and VEGA fleets.

My best strategy is Strafe 3 Exos with Mass drives... Group in to 2rows and track side ways till cruisers are dead. Works best on 40s as they are a lot slower.

Ya sounds like a good idea i mostly hit fleets and so i like to have a couple heavy hitters in the front to asorb any damage and protect my longbows and keep them in the fight for as long as possible

High armor close fighting has nothing to do with armor slots. Battleships and Destroyers are simply incapable of good close combat. You want Cruisers for that type of behavior. Battleships and Destroyers are meant for ranged attacks, with Battleships having a better broadside making it a poor choice for mobile combat with moving targets - you'll want to keep it relatively still and able to turn.

Bait ship. Get all the ships chasing bait (a damaged ship out of 6) and the other 5 can kill everything else. As long as you are not in their firing arc they won't shoot you. And if your other 5 ships do not take damage they will not attract attention from any other ship except to get shot at if they enter a firing arc. I tested a few things out for you. Lower level weapons always exceed higher level weapons if you have enough room to use a few guns instead of one. Where the higher ones start to matter is when the lower level ones take up all the slots but don't come anywhere near the max weight you can use.

Since Rancors can hold more weight, use them and either blitz with lasers or give them projectiles for killing laser/gauss bases.

I figured out the key to hitting the larger Vegas, and the only thing to know is that the vega ships will follow the weakest (or most damaged) ship, ignoring your other ships that are dancing around behind them. Thats it, they follow weakest ship. Edit: Just found that someone has video showing detail of new tactics lol
