While the playback supplied by NerfEye is a steaming piece o'snuff, it's better than nothing and it's automatic.
Why not make it available to the Attacker, as well as the defender?
Why can't the Attacker use an in-game tool to be able to review his base hits? Sure, I can use a 3rd party tool to record my own hits, with better quality than the one provided, but since the playback already exists, why not leverage that and let both parties view it?
As to 'how', I'd suggest making "playback" an option on the Battle Log. That would work for both attackers and defenders and be far more convenient to find just the playback you'd like to see.
