kinda but not really. could not get any decent level prizes that way, except in the first year or two - and then it was grinding for 40 hours over the 4 days. Can you imagine people on here now grinding out 40 hours in 4 days. They complain when they have to put in more than an hour in a day.

these days, with the top fleet you can knock out the top raid prize on day one, without spending a single coin. even within the first couple hours on day one, without spending a single coin. yes, you might take a few hours of repairs after hitting a couple targets, but that gets you a huge number of points towards the top prizes.
Don't blame the players for the game designers being unable to create raid scenarios that are equally challenging and FUN for all players.

Instead, the reward the whales and punish players who haven't been able to keep up.
those that are behind have tlcs to start catching up.

Yeah, very popular raid, they've done a great job of creating something that ALL players can feel good about and be happy to participate in.

    The TLCs are a rip-off.

It's possible to do the FM for little or no coin. In the Raid and other events, you have control over the targets you hit and you can mange your expenses. Those that don't have super-duper fleets can repair in the docks if they can't afford to instant-repair all the time.

With the TLCs, because they are very time-limited, you are forced to spend coin for instant-repair to be able to finish in time.

And because TLCs are many scenarios, they are very difficult. And very manipulative. The ramp-up in difficulty for the last scenario is always immense, because they know they've got you by the ballz. You've put the time, effort, and coin in getting that far, you'll spend whatever it takes not to have to start over.

Using them for essential tech is devious and evil, it's a good example of how they jerk us around.

TLCs do nothing to break the cycle where if you don't have top tech, you can't get it without massive spending.

We all understand some amount of spending is needed, this is a for-profit company -- but the anger is that we're manipulated into spending all the time, there is nothing they release that isn't designed to push for more revenue -- they do NOTHING that is just about doing something nice for the players, nothing gets released just because it might be fun.

TLCs are a nasty manipulation and KX apologists need to stop saying they're such a great thing. They're just another whale-feeding exercise and saying they're a good path for players to catch-up just isn't true.

No, that number is worse than that...

Considering that that number use to be in the 100k mark, the fact that it is now consistently only a third of it, should have Kix concerned..
Oh, and it is not like 2 games have moved off/ended being on this website. As I said, people do not know the full extent of the meaning of this number.
No  offence but looks like you don't get it either. Because those games have been gone for a while .

if you're determined to fail, you are going to be very successful at it.

there are vids on how to do a number of the tlcs, including the ones to get phoenix using your FM tech. Coin free.

in fact, you should watch vids before you even attempt a tlc so you know exactly what you need, and how to drive them. there is no surprise ramp up in difficulty if you know exactly what to expect. its a strategy game. think strategically, or you're going to suck at it.

you choose to be manipulated if you want. i choose to have some self control. i choose to beat every TLC and raid they throw at me without spending a single coin.

with a full sky or phoenix fleet TLCs are doable without coin. I watched a few vids to get some advice and I did them just fine. I have a surplus of tokens for skys from it. one trick I was shown is that Rudolph hurts skys bad so I found that you can use 1 fang to take it out damage free. then reenter with skys. just a example of what you are doing wrong. think outside the box and you will do well. This raid through, impossible to do as well as last year damage wise. kix does want more repairs, NOTHING is instant I found except 65's for skys if you have them R5 and do a couple tricks.Mantis take much more damage, kix way to stop ppl from prepping.

How are the campaigns a rip off?
You compete, you win stuff you want.  If you don't want it, you don't compete.
They are usually available for 6-7 days, giving you plenty of time to work your way through them.  You aren't forced to finish them, therefore you are not forced to coin them.  Any prize is better than no prize at all.  Any prize gets you a bit further ahead than you were.
They recommend a fleet to use.  If you do not have this fleet, you attempt it with the knowledge ahead of time that you aren't going to do well.  If you don't have the recommended fleet - why? By the time the campaigns are coming out, you have had ample time to build them.
That same "essential tech" is available in the raids too.
Again, you don't have to finish the campaign to advance - tech is available in every prize pack.
You're not manipulated into anything - you're given a choice to compete...or not.  You should not only exercise your choice, but hold yourself accountable for it as well.

    Update on Player Participation

As of Sunday morning, I still have zero points and am ranked 25,555th globally. That's a pretty good indicator of the number of players participating.

Doesn't mean that many are trying real hard, I suspect a lot of those are players like myself who gave it a try, saw what a clusterF... it is and didn't waste any more time on it.

Also, with zero points, I'm tied for 7th place in my sector.

Yeah, very popular raid, they've done a great job of creating something that ALL players can feel good about and be happy to participate in.

Another indication is that as of Sunday morning, there are only 13 pages about this raid.  Typically there are 100 pages so either the raid is super awesome or the players are out of f*cks to give.  Personally, I'm leaning towards the latter.

Is anyone going to refit the new D6 armors onto their manti;s for next raid?

I like the quicker repair time but the overall protections drop by 1-2%. So I'm not sure it worth it.

Your sector must be pretty quiet, then. I have 288 million, and I'm 8th in sector.

The TLC's are level driven.  The campaigns unlock as you level up.  None of the TLC campaigns offer tech that is higher than T4 at level 50...waste of time because as you guys keep saying, don't waste time on old tech.  Well, which is it?  There's only two choices; 1) wait to level up your base to unlock current tech (then you'll miss out on more raids), or 2) waste you're time earning obsolete prizes (then you'll miss out on more raids).  Again, waste of time.  The ONLY thing that the lower level players have are the FM's, but then we have to fight with all of the higher level coiners for the 40's lol

um....I believe the campaigns you are referring to are the permanent ones, not the time limited ones that are offered in varying weeks between raids?

chris no offence mate, but if your spending coins to buy complete fleets, then in all honesty you could have saved yourself some money on outdated tech, and coined repairs in the first cycle of this raid series.

By now you could have had a full fleet of Mantis fully ranked, and be able to do T8 sets.
There are several ways of getting good points, if your prepared to coin repairs (around 8 to 10 coins per T8 set on) with a little seat time you would easily get 200 mill points plus. Non coining would fairly easily get you in excess of 100 mill points over the four days.

I have seen it stated by players that they are sitting this cycle out, thats a massive mistake, the next raid in this series is the hull raid, in that raid the new hull for the next cycle will be available to win. Win that and at the very least, by the second raid of that cycle you will be in the position of being able to compete in that cycle.
Sooo ,, related note, we're all anticipating a new skirmish hull , so Proto-tides will be obsolete in another 4 weeks?
They were never going to be the top hull to use in the next cycle. The hull was designed for expeditions.
You will only receive my scorn from this point forward

Is anyone going to refit the new D6 armors onto their manti;s for next raid?

I like the quicker repair time but the overall protections drop by 1-2%. So I'm not sure it worth it.
It's worth it. Although your defenses drop, your repair efficiency goes up. Use it to fine tune your defenses.

My mantis have 98% pen defense and 92% corr. Swapping out one armor to the D6-Co changes my defense to 98% pen and 94% corrosive. I lost less than 1% pen defense and gained 2% corrosive and a flat -22min off my total repair. I will not be using D6-M because of the specifics of my build.

For many years, players could grind the lowest raid target(s) with just about any fleet. That would allow them to get raid prizes that would help advance them in their game. They couldn't get all that much but every little bit helped. Somewhere along the line kix ramped up their greed factor and now you need the best of the best to even do raid and take four hours damage per target to go with it. Can't even help others get everything they need as it costs too much and prepping is out of the question now with such lengthy repairs.
You can do T6 sets easily with last year's fleets for about half the repair you are citing.
So....players can still grind the lowest targets and get enough points to win a little bit.
For a level 9 player you have a lot of opinions.......TROLL!

    30,725 PLAYERS ONLINE

This shows the amount of people that are logged into kixeye dot com.
This figure does not represent how many people logged into battle pirates at any given time.

Kix keeps this figure up because it's a much larger number than those actually playing battle pirates. They don't want us to really see that there's only a couple thousand playing at any given time.

There's also no way to verify that, that number is legit for how many are logged into kixeye. Kixeye could very well be fudging it in an attempt to keep more from quitting.
Well my son started raid today and was put on the 15000 something, that the prox numbers doing this raid i belive. He was doing some targets until he got the max U bonus and now he was ranked 11000 something. Thats when he only had 13,5 mill.

Numbers do show clearly less activity, and i do belive most of this players has a very limited coining done.

well I am ranked 25,632 in the raid so I guess there must be at least 25 thousand 6 hundred and 31 people out there doing better than me :) - that means your 15 thou is a little off.
i do believe you are either at 1 point or less on the list or lying as im at 19998 as of right now at 50k points global there are not very many playing in this raid an even less next raid

I think many low levels start and find they have not go the fleets to compete so stop or give up so have very low points, been more than one posted in the 26k region

I think you wouldn't like his level 9 fleet to mess around in your base. Level and medals mean nothing on here...all depends if it is the player's main account or not.

Consider this an open invitation....The guy pulls down anyone who says anything negative towards Kix and flags anyone that intelligently show's him to be wrong. I took 4 years off and I would still give him a run for his money regardless of the levels each account has. Intellectually I have him nailed so I'm pretty sure I would have him nailed strategically.

Considering you called him a troll for stating repair times that are easily reached with a decent build and good strategy, I'd say that you should consider what you say a little more carefully.

I called him a troll because I have been coming across his posts a lot lately and by definition that has been what he is doing. "a troll (/troʊl, trɒl/) is a person who starts quarrels or upsets people on the Internet to distract and sow discord". People have a right to use this forum as a platform to express their issues with the way the game is going, If this person really is a high level long standing player with an abundance of experience and knowledge of the game, why don't they use it to help other players rather than pull them down? I will be happy to enter in to an intellectual debate with this person but every time I do he flags my posts. Hit and run if you like.....As for considering what I say a little more carefully.....apart from trolls and their minions tell me someone who disagrees with me?

I do. Your position would be stronger if you hadn't called him out for stating real life repair times. You fit your definition nicely

I'm calling him out for sowing discord....If I fit my own definition then I am trolling a troll....the same as I would call out a bully. I help people who need help, I explain things to people that don't understand....and I do all of that without belittling or acting in an arrogant manor....does Carlos do the same?

Okay, yall are getting off topic..........

As for the raid, my same scatter build as last raid (except for adding new armor to one ship) has now gotten me to over 360 mil without any coins used (40 minutes damage per target).
And I will say it again, key is to move one ship away from others to reduce your splash damage in the targets.

That's what I noticed too. The mini-scatter on enemies seem to be the main source of damage this time. I would be where you are now if I didn't have the pleasure of being camped by salty snipers.

As the final seconds counted down to the end of the June 2018 raid (400s world), I captured this: (Provided for context)

I found it interesting that three players jumped in during the last 20 minutes.
Battle Pirates player since 2011. ID 1,039,890.
