We need a long range energy weapon to mix things up in bases make it around the range of 8,000 and make the damge atleast 125

    Considering the fact that most basing fleets dont have resistance its alot

    For your base level maybe

    Kinda topic related fun fact.
    Base turrets used to do substabtially more damage than their ship counterparts. Compare look at the mentioned gravitron rays or fusion torps, etc. Now days the ship counterparts have nearly equal dps outputs. In my oppinion this means that the base weapons theyre releasing are, as usual, purpusfully out of balance.

    But anyway... put focussed optics on the turret. Thats as good as it gets for range on an energy weapon. Range order goes energy at the shortest, explosives are midrange, projectile long range. For your level, If you want range on your base weapons, you need to look at coil drivers or gladius or something like that.

    Makes sense but there is always one weapon type going against their norm archer beam on destroyer to tempest on demon corp

    125 DPS isn't going to do anything... might as well use Storm Driver Turret. With double the DPS it's going to deal more damage despite the enemy most likely having 50% Projectile resistance.

    Then youre looking for brutal gatling turret.

    Kix doesnt do blueprints anymore tho, so youll need to find enough reusable bullsh** somewhere :/

    Would have been a better post if u didn't mention the dps from the top of your head! At least give a realistic point of view of why and how this could work.

    Your asking for long range energy weapons right? like how we did with the megatron Graviton turret. If you look at this weapon now, at max range if a ship strafes or even goes at a relative forward speed, the gun will miss (maybe as intended?). But will hit more accurately than any other dmg element within a closer proximity of the turret.

    If we was to have this gun in bases now, we would need to have it close to 6750-7250m range (considering the range boost special of focus apertures). If its base was 8000m, players can take advantage and have it become 9250m (which isn't a bad idea). But for it to be balanced, it would need a slower base projectile speed, like that of the Graviton Turret (3500m) or the speed to match half its max range (for it to be effective). Since this weapon would act as close and long range to counter snipers and blitz fleets, its dps would need to be reduced. In this case as much as we want long ranged energy weapons on base there is virtually no point, as projectile stomps this rule-period. 

    Realistically for maxed out bases, you need a dps of at least 300-400+ (and this amount is still offensive towards tanky guardians and bastions). For mid ranged (LvL 45-60) 250ish. For Lower lvl bases (<44) around 90-150ish. Additionally, as focus apertures adds so much weight, a revised version of this special will be needed too.

    Until energy gets itself a blind spot, than maybe we can see more of this dmg type. It would be cool if a new weapon like the graviton bounced towards multiple targets like the reverb ray, or slowed ships down....making it harder for snipers.
    I in fact wish to see plasma and void weapons for bases. Spice it up a bit :-)
