I find myself being bored with the game. We have so many events and activities and yet nothing fun to do. Everything is a grind. A long time ago, we could get new units from the Monthly Event, upgrade units, and have fun doing PvP. Now, every time we get our units upgraded to the max level, those units get new levels, our bases get new levels, new content gets added, and new events get added to the game.

What's hilarious, is that Kixeye representatives like to get on the forums and say "you don't have to do everything". Haha. Yeah right. The players who do not participate in everything find themselves falling behind the power curve very quickly. Before long, they are no longer competitive. The game is currently designed so that players that grind are competitive while those that play casually fall behind. PvP is dead because players are too busy trying to stay competitive. The game is a never-ending grind with the hope that one day we might get to have fun again.

Here is the current grind:
  • Shadow Ops - new tech/new Unique unit
  • Alliance Raids - Diamond tech
  • Challenge Bases - medals for Heroic tech
  • Warpath Event - Blood Thorium for Heroic Tokens
  • Ryu-Kai Bases - Fire tech
  • Intel Bases - Intel for Alliance Raids
  • Weapons Lab Bases - Cores/Chemicals/Silicon
  • Training Token Bases - Faction Training Tokens
  • Faction Unit Bases - Faction units/Faction tech
  • Unique Unit Bases - Unique units/Unique tech
  • Thorium Bases - Thorium (building units)
  • Resource Bases - Oil/Metal (base upgrades)
  • Monthly Event - new units/new tech
Here is what I want to do:
  • PvP - for fun
  • Monthly Event - new units/new tech
  • Thorium Bases - Thorium (building units)
  • Resource Bases - Oil/Metal (base upgrades)

well  it is a grind theres no hideing that .but heres a thought to take in as well if there was a max how boring will that be as well ? i mean you reached all the game has to offer and nothing to gain. besides just sit there and hit bases for no reason.  while here theres somewhat of a goal yes its a grind but it adds a mix factor as well. when you go air hearld they go anti air hades and seeker.  they go heavy ground pufier jug and war rig. while you go light attack phialnx and spartan zks.  you go light air furys bonesaws cyclones while they go heavy air valents and applos . long in short of it its about haveing a grind to mix stuff up but not so heavy people wont know what to do . like now but haveing a grind so people can upgrade and be able to fight   but not being so short theres nothing to do at all. a heads up  im not fully defending  or attacking this post im just trying to say a big pic thats all

Okay I acknowledge it's a grind because it is. I play less now than ever before and still manage to do everything and get everything. I had help starting off and stole every base I needed for over a years worth of monthly events. Now I'm self-sufficient but it's really hard to get to where I am with the game the way it is now. I was also lucky and started right before they removed the 112k xp fallback prize from Sandstorm bases and it was just plain easier starting fresh back then. I got help getting Sheila and the rest I did myself.

My complaint is they claim every "activity" is optional. To a certain degree everything is optional but by not participating you are falling behind. Most events now have something exclusive to them that you really do need to stay relevant and competitive in this game. To not participate is to fall behind and make your struggle more burdensome. I would LOVE to be able to sit out an event or activity but you really can't.

I agree that there needs to be some advancement in the game in order to give the players a goal to work towards and to create competition. BUT the difference between advancement and grinding is the AMOUNT of content. In my list that I posted (of what I want to do), I still mentioned upgrading and building. That kind of advancement should still take place. But when you have to play 8 hours a day, everyday, in order to get all the tasks done, do all the upgrades, and achieve all the tech/units/tokens/etc., well then it's grinding and no longer fun.

This game has become way too involved with too much to do. When I started playing back in 2012, you could get all you needed done within a few minutes or an hour at the most. Now, you are just wasting your time if all you are going to spend is an hour here and hour there. It causes the potential for a very unhealthy consumption of time. The problem is, nobody is holding a gun to your head, but at the same time, if you skimp on time and effort, you fall behind, and kix knows this. So it is a catch 22 situation. On one hand, you reduce the work load, and very quickly you will hear of people becoming bored, and losing interest, then you have this extreme where you feel like you have become a slave to the game. So yes, there needs to be a balance somehow...

It is what it is..If you want to excel in anything, you have to always remain competitive to hone skills that put you at the top; whether it's a sport, music, weightlifting, karate, whatever! If you are content with this being 'just a game' (which it actually is LOL) play it as such, and keep it casual.

I know we all want the newest, best units along with the strongest bases, but face it, with 50,000 plus players, there're always gonna' be people with more free time who can stay online 12 hours a day to do all the events, challenge bases etc to gain an edge and be at the top. To them I feel like saying 'get a life' but it isn't for me to bash them becoz they can do something I can't! Envying the better players who 'grinded' to have the nicest toys at a cost of either gold, loss of their personal time, or just honest sweat is ridiculous, in my opinion.

Just play the game how you want and find a way to make it fun for you! Yeah, it's a serious grind to stay at the top, but isn't everything in life the same in that respect?

And by the way, if you're online 12 hours a day playing this game, GET A LIFE!!!

HELLO KIXEYE! YOU ARE DROWNING YOUR PLAYERS! ARE YOU LISTENING! STOP THE GRIND!

What do you the players think? Is the game a grind with too many "activities"?
I think you need to remove NEW UNITS FROM MONTHLY EVENTS Or at least cut it down to 2 times an yr we get 1 new unit. Cuz if you dont, you are not factoring in the Tokens needed per new Faction unit ( it is currently 22 million in xp per unit assuming if you buying tokens in event shop ). Really dont need New tech each month either. Plenty of crap to get caught up on anyway.

    here's units I would grind for :

Elite/Omega Inferno, Elite/omega Growler, Elite/Omega Ronin, Elite Archangel/Omega, Elite/Omega BFGX, Elite/omega Sarkis ( even Expert Class would work I think if stats were awesome ). Expert class access for Sheila, Kara, Doran, Dante, jerico, BJ I think all these should get Elite Status along with all VXP units.

that there is an list that would be an addition to the grind but it would make KIXEYE stick to their claim of Making bad **** units be GREAT or fk'n awesome again.

Not only would it give chance to make these units great, but also would give us time to get all the tech for said Units. and if they are not to be added to faction then FINE so be it. However, Sarkis and all corpus units should be classed as Corpus, also includes Sentinels be classed as such. No excuse that they didnt get classed into such.

Lastly quit adding more stupid garbage like this Warpath System to track payout and what not, you should be focusing on Performance and removing crap from game that doesnt need more crap to prolong load times and destabilize the game.

    its a grind>
40 elite parts for unit x then for unit y, then 80 omega parts for unit x and y etc but 80 parts or 40 parts are resp 40 or 20 bases as the average amount of parts is 2
Do 100  pvp bases to get in diamond in pvp event
do each week at least 2 70
    5 x a 100 a week
    5 x a 150 a week
After the things you have done , you don`t even have time to repair your units to do next
The grind is just to much and to boring.
Then all game crashes... so trying to use warpath leaderboard... makes flashcrash each time another 3:30 miutes wating for loading.. that several times a day.. so besides the grind we play load and reload commander aswell....

Don't forget the many bases for the tech of the many units we have to upgrade now.
Medal bases, just because kix made the prizes for tech and units in Gear too high.

Since this is a great thread.  I would also like to add Catchup and Completionist.  Since some like to have it all maxed, you are doing even more grinding to get your 5s units, even free to max, just for the pride of doing it.  HOWEVER Also included is the Units that are WAY old, but still usefull.  Including for me SS and Phantom, SURE I could have gotten the package, but I have all the parts, AND the tech.  I am not wasting money for 70 days.  (Cost is including the parts, I already own)

I can barely keep up and can't.  Right now its either my Herald OR my Blackout I have to make a choice.   THis ruins the fact I am grinding for parts I will prob NEVER get to build, but again you never know.

The game has fallen from Grace over the last few years. I do know that a game must progress but sometimes cramming to much content slows to a total grind. I personally have tried to keep up with everything. Too many bases to hit for this and that. The Elite and Omega bases are a pure grind.  I am a level 45 and I have fallen behind on a lot of things in this game.

wc is not the game we grew to love its now farmville with tank`s . if we have to have all these bases put some decent fkin res in them and put medals in them this would help to cut down the grind . i dont think kix have any idea how much farming we have to do now  we have to hit around 20 rouge bases just too build four missiles !! come on kix give us time for pvp

Only medals are a grind for me. I haven't sat down and dedicated an hour or 2 to medals bases for a couple of months now.

With the payout so small I just don't feel like I'm getting anywhere when I do them.

I think it is a grind, but not for the reason you state.     All the events and PvP fighting are the exciting parts.    It is in-between those events--getting resources to pay for all the units and upgrades--that is a grind.

There's no question about grind. Not only are there too many things to do but the pay-off for the effort/time/cost is stingy, nay, risible!

What exacerbates the grind is familiarity. Familiarity breeds contempt. Content release being routine with little imagination, repetitive chores to unlock prizes etc.

I'd rather participate in an engaging quest with a variety of missions than repeat the same base 50 times. All it takes is a resourceful mind, something which the game team is found wanting for.

I have to vote "yes" in this poll as there are a bit too much we have to do on a weekly basis to not fall too much behind like completing 1 Phase of Shadow Ops for the unique unit and some some other cases farm a decent amount of bases to unlock a unit like the Juggernaut or the Elite/Omega parts for it. I have quit hitting most of the unique unit bases as it's way too much for me to hit them. I don't want to spend time hitting 20-80 bases just to unlock 1 unit I want or 1 upgrade.

yep! grind it is, it'll probably take til 2019 to upgrade the stuff we have now, then you bring some other **** along makes all your hard work useless( that is unless you have thousands of £ to throw into the game) and frankly, with all the bugs, lags and other issues isnt worth it. Omega Titan and the Sandstorm are on the verge of becoming extinct now and I havent even maxed them out yet. C'mon, get a grip.

I started this game May 16, 2013 from that time to now i have never once miss more then 1 day from this game even if i was on vacation i always log on so today i decided to log in after being gone 9 days, i saw all the bases and just log back off. This game has become such a grind pool as there is no  fun left.
Repair time, Force PVP, Unit upgrades, Building upgrades, Tech bases, Op's, it is so much more.....
There once was a fun factor it was your job to log on jump and fight for 7 days you felt guilty if you miss a day lol.

Even if this number is incorrect, it speaks volumes.
