Rocket Turrets for Defense Platforms

There are currently no rocket turrets available for defense platforms.

We will be adding Rocket Turrets, similar to the ones available for ships, as an option for defense platforms. Rockets do explosive, area-of-effect damage that will make speed runs against bases more difficult.

    I like this better than the patrol fleet idea.

    Make it a range of about 50 because else it would be OP due to it's splash

    All I can say is it sounds good, but are they going to be worth it? Cause From how i'm attacked I never get blitzed.... and My base hasn't been flattened since I changed my strat. But with these.... idk... if you don't get blitzed the whats the point of having them?

    This will be a game changer for blitz fleets. I'm not sure if I should continue with building a Blitz fleet (18days per ship, just started the second one), or if start building another mortar or a missile one now.

    I think the proverbial devil is in the details...what range? what damage? I'm tired of seeing dreadnaughts walk right past my towers and watching my weapons plink off of them.

    I would expect you can estimate the range of the rocket turrets by comparing the range of maelstroms, thuds, and cutlass missiles...

    Cutlass 4 = 72
    Thud 4 = 49
    Maelstrom 4 = 45

    Sentinel 4 = 102
    Howitzer 4 = 78

    The thud/cutlass ratio is 68%
    The maelstrom/cutlass ratio is 62.5%
    The howitzer/sentinel ratio is 76.5%

    Give all that, a range of 72 on level 4 rockets seems like a reasonable guesstimate.

    I think that might be a good range as long as damage and SPREAD MAINLY is balanced.....

    I like it. However, please make the flight time short so that 6 siege cannon eng3 blitz fleets will also be hit and they wont just zoom by.

    The spread should also be about 2 land squares (width of a channel)

    is it really necessary? i mean we already have howi's. add this and blitz fleets will be HISTORY.

    As I understand it, the main goal of this sub-forum is to comment on the idea KIXEYE posted, not debate other items. But it seems this one is going to keep getting posted, so...

    It's the whole rock, paper, scissors thing that Swag has mentioned before. The idea here is to give you another possible means of defending your base, not a way to make your base completely impenetrable. Currently, the only reasonable defense for a blitz fleet is howitzers. A dreadnaught with LA3, Eng3, and siege cannons is going to laugh at those howitzers as it cruises down the channel. This gives the base a different way to handle that blitz fleet. Sure, now you are vulnerable to a blitz fleet with Ablative 3, but that's the trade-off.

    As it is, I would guess that ablative is used less than 5% of the time. Realistically, how many times have you seen the acronym AA3 used here? Hey, now there is a reason for people to consider using AA3 instead of just relying on the hailstorms to be good enough.

    So, yes, the rockets are a good idea, and no, you don't get more turrets. Or, at least, not in this thread. Go ask for it in the Wishlist.

    Theres a big difference between blitzing a base taking down platforms to reduce damage taken and just sailing past 14 platforms like they did not exist. I'm hoping these new turrets negate the latter without obliterating the former.

    Love the idea, but instead of a Land turret how about making this one a water turret that i can place anywhere in my gaunlet, either mount it to a oil rig or make it its own water building, just a idea

    its good the upgrade,so far the game its getting boring for me,but you will need to keep always the distance betwen the guys been playing for a long time. ops i dont want a low flatting me,that will piss me of, because he do not spend the hours of money i spend already,so he dont deserve to be rewarded

    Where did that come from? Sure, Swag said they are similar to ship-based rockets, and I used the range as a guide for estimating the range of these defense rockets, but no one said they act just like ship weapons.

    I think DPS should be around 300...mabye do it 2 salvos and a reload of 1.

    Why 300? It can hit multiple ships at once so would deal a DPS of 1500 if it hits all ships...anymore would make it OP
